In my opinion, it's best not to trace bases, as they may reduce creativity. The only use of bases I like is using them as a REFERENCE if you need help with a body part. But remember, just be creative. Draw in your own way. Exaggerate the anatomy if you want to. Practice everyday, because you won't get better overnight.
