Alessio's POV

"I want all pack wolves, ranked or not, to attend the post full moon ball. The last celebration did not end well so tonight I want the security tight, especially because we have important achievements to celebrate. Make sure the new alphas of the Nightshade Pack, former Beta Edwards and the now Luna Elisa, will be here as well as his beta, Caleb. I want everyone to know them and hear about Vincent and Finn's traitorous act. Am I clear?" My men nodded at my last instructions and I dismissed them immediately to prepare for tonight's celebration.

It's been two days since the ascension of Fyrrah in the Fire Kingdom and works immediately filed in for her - mostly those ignored by her father which the people badly needed. I offered help but she politely declined saying it's her responsibility and she doesn't want to add to the things I needed to do. She also arrested Sandoval Harke, an ESDC pet of Leonardo, and Kalen was the one to replace him. He immediately handled the case of Alessandro Voltaire whom my men caught in the underground host club and the person who attempted to rape Laina, Kalen's wife. Virgo became Fyrrah's general, which ended his player ways. He said he can't let his sister down. Elisa became Luna to Edwards, while their mother stayed by Fyrrah's side to guide her in her reign.

"Did you talk to Fyrrah about it?" Tristan's voice brought me back to reality.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "Talk to her about what?"

He rolled his eyes at me, "The mate thing, idiot."

Slowly my eyes widened, Oh shit.

"I-I forgot..." My reaction made him chuckle which earned a whack in the head from me.

"I can't believe it slipped your mind when you'll both have to do the ritual dance for full moon tonight. The ball's in three hours time, go tell her!" He pushed me towards our room.

"It's not my fault my wolf's too happy to remember we still haven't told her! Everyday it feels perfect! Plus the fact we're both busy with king and queen duties!" I reasoned out and my wolf growled.

'Stop blaming me, mate's happy - mate loves me.' Cocky wolf, isn't he?

"Then tell her now, before it's too late." He winked before leaving me alone to face the music, the most beautiful music - mate bond.

I opened the door to our room and saw no sign of her, just our attire for the evening laid on top of the king-sized bed. We match and that made me smile.

Okay, time to find her.

I went out of the room and saw a maid heading to the library so I called her attention, "Have you seen the queen?"

She nodded politely, "She just went out of the dungeons and left, my king. Her brother called and said she's needed in the fire kingdom right away. It's a very important matter."

My heart nearly exploded at that. It's too late, damn late. I thanked her and went out of the castle for a run. As I neared the woods I tried calling her but the line's busy. I called her many times but she's not answering. How am I going to tell her now? I don't even know if she'll make it in time tonight. When I came back only one hour's left before the start of the ball. Guests started arriving and I saw Anthony and Berlin welcoming them and facilitating with other guards and ushers. I heard my name being called and saw Tristan at the back door holding out my suit.

"Dammit Alessio! You need to fix yourself and welcome them too!" He pulled me towards an empty guest room and shoved me inside the bathroom with my clothes. He closed the door when he went out and waited outside.

"Thanks, bud." I called out from inside. My wolf's howling inside my head, calling out for his mate. I'm so dumb for letting two days pass without telling her she's my mate.

"No problem. So did you tell her? What did she say? Next time you have to talk about how you two will manage two kingdoms at once. It won't be easy since it's her first time. I wonder if she knows the ritual dance, did she agree to dance with you?" I swear he has a very big mouth for a man.

"No." I answered to all of his questions.

"No??" He called out in confusion, "No as in you didn't tell her or No as in she didn't agree to dance with you??"

"Both," I finished my shower right away and went out dressed in a suit. "She's gone before I can tell her. Something important came up in the fire kingdom and she's needed."

"Oh man..." He shook his head in worry. "So what's the plan? Have you tried calling her?"

"I did. She's not answering." I was growing frustrated every second. Damn it!

"We'll have to continue the ball no matter what. It's time."

I sighed in defeat before going out of the room and making my way towards the waiting guests and greeted them all with a smile as I passed by. Once in a while I would engage in their small talks and chat with them about pack stuff and issues. When Anthony mindlinked me to start the program I hurriedly went to the small stage and everybody hushed. All eyes on me.

"These past few weeks my life was thrown in a plethora of challenges and obstacles testing my reign. But tonight we are here to celebrate not just my achievements, but also my men. Without them, and all of you, this kingdom won't stand strong as it is right now. Lives were put at risk, some were lost, and most were scarred and wounded. However, the very mark they received made them strong and one with the kingdom. A toast for the warrior wolves!" My wolf howled in victory and every body else followed as I lifted the glass of wine I was holding. I saw Ares in the crowd as he smiled and bowed his head at me.

'Hey, pack doctor.' I teased and he just rolled his eyes at me and motioned his head to the side. My brows furrowed in confusion but I looked anyway.

I'm glad I did.

Seeing my lovestruck expression everybody else followed my gaze. Some gasped in amazement and most were curious. Fyrrah stood there in her elven regality, and gracefully curtsied at the top of the stairs. My wolf went crazy in my head making me chuckle. Sensing this, Fyrrah lifted her head and winked at me.

Crazy little elf.

I cleared my throat and everyone reluctantly shifted their attention to me, "The Moon granted me my only wish. She gave me so much more. My mate came into my life after centuries of searching. Finally, someone who can scold me in front of everybody when I make mistakes." The hall erupted into laughters as I said that. "I'm serious, my mate's a spitfire!" I added and laughed when Fyrrah playfully growled from the stairs while descending. "Everyone, I want you to meet my mate, my Luna and Queen of the Fire Elves - Queen Fyrrah Vulcan."

Everyone respectfully bowed down their heads and applauded afterwards. The crowd parted as she made her way towards me, flashing her beautiful smile to everyone. My wolf growled possessively in my head when we saw her flawless legs in display as the satin silk flowed when she walks. Her curvy waves were exposed, and the elven dress made her more ambrosial... Damn delectable.

"Close your mouth, Alpha King." She purred seductively in my ear making me growl lowly in desire.

"Why the hell are you wearing that thing?" I whispered asking. My gaze immediately fell on her luscious neck, I swear this night won't end without my mark on her.

"For the ritual," she smiled softly, "Elves wear these things when we bond. Why? You don't like it?"

I chuckled, "I don't like their eyes on you. You look ravishing."

She just rolled her eyes and that's when people cleared the dancefloor. Artemis placed the Lunar Ball just above our conjoined hands where it floated and glowed brighter than before as every wolf gasped in amazement. The lights went off and fires started floating above in shapes of little butterflies. They don't burn, courtesy of my little elf. As we both dance the Lunar Ball circled my beautiful mate, illuminating her entire form which soon radiated towards female wolves making the males turn their attention towards them to find their other half hopefully.

"I'm sorry I forgot to tell you personally that you're my mate. It feels right to have you by my side always. There's nothing more I can ask for." I kissed her softly and with love.

"Are you sure?" She whispered, "I was thinking of something... naughty for tonight. Well it's your choice, fine by me." Her voice was sultry and I growled out my desire.

"No baby, you're all mine for tonight."

All mine, my little elf. Forever.
