Fyrrah's POV
I yawned for the nth time today, trying hard to keep my tired eyes open. I don't have anything to do, and I managed to escape Anthony's watchful gaze just a few hours ago.
It's been a week since the mayhem in the Blood Moon Forest happened. Alessio's been busy interrogating- or should I say torturing - the rogue wolf they kept alive from the battle. You must be wondering why I didn't interrogate Davis yet, correct? Well, usually after adventures the heroes felt tired so I feel tired right now.
Okay, so that's not the reason why. I wanted to tell Alessio who I am, and since I'm not so good in explaining I think Kalen would do. Despite my current predicament, I don't feel like a prisoner at all. Alessio's making me feel like I'm his prized possession and honestly no one have ever made me feel this way. Not even my siblings, though I know they care. I have this feeling that he would understand and whether I would like to admit it or not the cunning alpha wormed his way into my heart unknowingly and decided to build a gossamer and fluffy bed to reside in. In short, I have a soft spot for him. Damn, tricky bastard.
"I am here to see the king, I have a meeting with him scheduled in an hour." My ears twitched when I heard the familiar voice coming from the estate's room designed for visitors and Alessio's short meetings.
Another voice replied, "Yes, Alpha. Is it okay if you wait here or should I call someone to show you around?" He's one of the castle guards.
"I could use a tour around the castle." He answered without a care. What is it with alphas and their lack of emotion when dealing with others?
I poked my head in the doorway, "I can show you around!" I chirped, clapping my hands excitedly. The act seemed innocent but my smile was that of an old scheming witch. This time, he didn't bother hiding his distaste towards me. It must've been because of something he found out about me, since he's not like this with me before. But do I care? No.
"Fyrrah," He spat, disgusted by my name.
I raised an eyebrow, "What crawled up your ass and died?"
He sneered, glaring at me. "I guess I'll just wait here." He said, making himself comfortable in the sofa.
"Your choice." I shrugged and disappeared out of the room. I locked up myself in the room at the end of the hall. A library, how fitting. I pretended to read but my ears were strained eavesdropping on their conversation.
"My king," Alpha Luces greeted. There was a scuffle, fabric bristling against fabric. He must've stood up to greet him and did a handshake.
"Alpha Luces," Alessio answered shortly, "You found something?"
"Yes," he said proudly. "I got it from the Elven Strategic Defense Council (ESDC). I narrowed the reports down to the most important ones." He explained the validity of the information.
"Good. Tell me everything." Alessio urged.
"Her real name is Fyrrah Vulcan. She can't access fire element, true. Apparently she stole something from the king of the fire kingdom and the punishment is death. However, she escaped their clutches. For years countless of deaths were recorded and everything leads to her. From noblemen to small time thieves, you name it she did it. Her case was assigned to a certain general, Leonardo Calisto, and up until now they can't capture her. My king, I suggest we surrender her. The reward is an alliance between the kingdoms."
There was a brief silence, no words spoken and only harsh breathings were heard, must be Alessio of course. "How did you know the reward is an alliance?" His voice laced with open curiosity and at that moment my heart broke. He's thinking about it.
"The deadly king, Heaven Aer of the air kingdom, volunteered to capture her. It took him three years to corner Fyrrah and... and they fought in the war zone." Alpha Luces seemed unsure.
"Then?" Alessio asked impatiently.
"They left the battle grounds, both injured but proudly retreating. From then on the air king withdrew any connections in the case saying the girl earned his respect."
Another silence, seriously if it wasn't for this comfortable couch I would've barged in there and kill Alpha Luces for being an ass.
"Anthony," the alpha king called his gamma, "Where's Fyrrah?"
"I... She escaped me again, Alpha. But the maid said she's in the library." Oh, big bad Anthony is embarrassed a little girl managed to escape him.
"Can you tell her I'm requesting for her presence in here?" He asked, more like ordered and I immediately stopped listening from their conversation. A few minutes passed and I'm itching to know what they're talking about but I stopped myself from spying again. Soon someone's knocking at the library door.
"It's open." I grumbled, clearly in a bad mood.
"The king's requesting for your presence." Anthony informed me, standing in the doorway.
I nodded, placing the book back in its proper shelf. "Where to?" I followed after him, he acts so carefree and cool but the way his eyes register every movement I made shows he's cautious around me and still on guard even if his actions says otherwise.
"Here." He opened the door, revealing a smug Marcus Luces. He doesn't deserve my respect, nor his alpha title. I looked around to find Alessio silently scanning the reports given by Marcus.
"You asked for me?" I ensured, moving closer to him but the idiot behind me moved to attack.
Luces clawed my at my back, nails digging deeply on my skin reaching for my spine. Everyone was too stunned to react so based on instinct the firestone clawed its way out. Ridges erupted on my spine, piercing his flesh on the arm and passing through. His screams drowned out my groans of pain as well as the snarls heard on the background. I didn't know which hurt the most, his claws or my bones extending another limb.
"Remove your fucking hand or I'll break it for you." I hissed.
Tristan and Anthony distanced themselves as a furious Alessio grabbed Luces' throat and pulled him off my back, trying to be gentle in order not to inflict anymore pain on me. He fell on the floor, writhing in pain. Holes adorned his arms and when I'm sure he learned his lesson I slowly retreated the bone-like structure on my back.
"Is this the reason why you called me here?" I growled at the king who took a step towards me. "And here I thought you deserve to know atleast who am I." I glanced at the papers, "You lost your chance, King Romanov."
"Litt-"
I turned to the man on the floor, "You got a disgrace of an alpha here, the only person who attacks from behind is a coward. Do you know what you did to yourself??" I taunted mockingly at Luces, disgust and hatred clear on my expression. "You licked a poison." I spat harshly before disappearing. This is not a simple walk-out, it's an escape. I dissolved in the trees, running away like a mad man while making sure to rub my scent all over the trees to avoid being tracked and to lead them in circles then I jumped, as high as I could. Dragon-like wings protruding from my back and I took off. Soaring high like a stork and two powerful wings flapped twice before I did a freefall, going north just before I reached the trees.
I'm sure the fire elves have been notified I was here. I chastised myself for staying too long in that place and now it feels like I was leaving a part of me behind. I should've known this won't end well, a trustworthy general I've known for years betrayed me how much more someone I barely knew? I've only been with them for a week so I need to cut the crap and live my life the way I did before.
I immediately stopped when a pained howl echoed throughout the dead silent woods. My eyes widen, He's coming!
I flew as fast as I could, attempting to fly higher but a clawed hand grabbed my ankles pulling me down with him as he fell. Furred arms wrapped around me, protecting me from the coming impact of the fall. My wings retracted automatically and we fell on the forest floor, making a dent. We stayed put for a few minutes, neither of us moving and only our ragged breathings were heard cutting through the thick air of silence. From the familiar tingles dancing on my skin I knew it was Alessio. His snout caressed my cheeks, whimpering when I didn't respond.
"Leave me alone, Alessio." I sighed.
He growled lowly, "No. Mine..." He licked my face, waiting for me to react childishly the way I did before. He whimpered again when I didn't move. As much as it pained me to say this, I think he's cute when he's doing that.
"You sound like a dying donkey, Alessio." I grinned sheepishly. He yelped, tongue lolling to the side and tails wagging at me. "But I'm not going back there."
"You are, little elf." He grumbled, lifting me up.
"I'm going to kill that asshole if I see him again." I warned.
"I would gladly do it for you, little elf." He assured and began walking but I started thrashing from his hold which seems to tighten even further.
"Let go of me!" I yelled clawing and kicking wildly. "Put me down, Alessio!" I screamed. Hissing when we passed by the guards who looked horrified at the sight of me being manhandled, I bit down Alessio's arm. He scoffed, nipping at my neck lightly and I stopped, paralyzed and shivering with pleasure. He purred, thinking I was done with my tantrum making him yelp in surprise when I kicked his groin and ran full speed out of the castle doors.
Anthony met me headlong, arms ready to capture me but I ducked down, sliding in between his legs. He muttered a 'shit' and grabbed me again but I managed to sprint away.
"Close the gates!" Tristan growled from behind at the guards. Too late, I was close. Too fucking close when I was pulled back by two strong arms wrapped around my waist. The gates closed in front of me, barely grazing the tip of my nose. Everyone stopped, too stunned to react at the burst of adrenalin we all experienced. I looked up, the sky was calmly watching everything that happened...
"Don't ever think about it, baby..." Alessio growled lowly, pulling me flushed against his chest.
This is it... The end of Fyrrah the Draconia.
