"acadia!!" i yelled before i heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen.
"yes ma'am??"
"you hungry??" i asked turning towards the door where she stood.
"yesss i've been starving, my stomach been touching my back bro..." she said wiping fake tears.
"i- why you didn't say sumn in the first place..." i said as she came and hugged me.
"because i gotta headache." she said.
"maybe cause you haven't ate all day." i said handing her a plate.
"i- see- you right." she said and i laughed as i grabbed myself a plate.
"your sister up??"
"your asking the wrong person." she said.
i walked upstairs to my room and turned on the light.
"sahari...food ready."
she popped out from under the covers and rubbed her eyes,"c'mon on mama.." i said walking up to the bed.
she stood up and stretched her arms out, i picked her up and took her into the bathroom.
i waited on my phone while she sat on her potty,"all done..." she said and pulled her pamper up.
"you wiped??" she nodded as she climbed onto the foot stool.
i wet her toothbrush with water before putting toothpaste on and watched as she tried to brush her teeth.
"go like this ahhh and brush your tongue." i said and she copied what i did before spitting the toothpaste out.
"alright come here." she held her mouth open as i brushed her teeth and rinsed out her mouth with water.
she stepped down and followed me back to the kitchen.
"dia!!" she yelled and went to acadia jumping into her lap.
i fixed her a plate and handed it to her,"you mind feeding her while i get ready."
"i got it." acadia said putting her phone down and adjusted sahari in her lap.

where do i even start, well i have two kids now Acadia whos now 15 almost 16 and sahari whos 1.
once i finished getting ready, i told acadia to bring sahari upstairs so i can get her dressed and do her hair.
sahari pouted as she sat in the stool,"girl don't look at me like that imma do your hair fast and simple then you gonna put on some clothes" i said taking her bonnet off her head.
"okay mommy.." she said as i parted her hair.
"you know what you wanna wear today???" i asked her as she looked in the mirror while kicking her legs around.
"yes." she said as she looked at me through the mirror.
"mommy..your pretty." she said making me smile.
"thank you baby." i said as i started slicking her hair back.
i finished doing her hair and helped her pick out an outfit.
i tied her shoes,"there." i said and she smiled.
"them earrings gonna stay in for like 5 seconds." acadia said and i nodded.
she wasn't wrong, sahari always lost either one or both of her earrings by the end of the day.
i smiled as acadia grabbed sahari and started tickling her making her let out her cute giggles.
my phone started ringing, it was an unsaved number.
"hel-"
"hello this is the police station, is this Adaliya??"
"yes..."
"it would be better to talk to you about this situation in person." she said.
"okay about??"
"it's about....can you just get here today??"
"yeah gimme like 30 minutes."
"alright we look forward to seeing you soon." she hung up.
i called Amare,"hello??"
"where you at?"
"in yana guts right now-" i hung up and shook my head.
"y'all wanna go to papa house for a lil bit??" i asked and sahari face lit up.
"yesss." acadia said fixing her clothes.
"alright go get in the car." i said and laughed as they raced out the room.

"unt unt i ain't say you could bring them over here." my dad said as he opened the door.
"iâ now papa when it's time for us to go you gonna try and get us to spend the night." acadia said.
"shut yo ass up and get in the house, got my grand baby in the heat." he said and i shook my head as they walked inside.
"just for a lil dad thank you." i said.
"mhm, next time y'all go on vacation i wanna go and my ole lady." he said
"you got the money for that???"
"i- get on." he said and i laughed as i made my way to my car.
as i drove towards the police station mariah started calling me,"yes ma'am???"
"what you doinggggg???"
"girl get the fuck." i said laughing.
"nah but what you been up to?"
"nun dropped the kids off at my dads you??"
"chile just dropped iniko off at his friends, i gotta hair appointment today sooo yeah." she said.
"alright we'll look i'm finna call you back." i said and hung up.
i was getting closer to the police station my heart beating faster by the second.

i fixed my hair and walked inside to the police station,"and you are??"
"adaliya." i said putting my phone up, her eyes widened a lil before going back to normal.
"umm yes...hello?? yes adaliya is here." right when she put the phone down a man came out from the front.
"please follow me.." he said and i followed him to the back.
i sat down in the chairs and he sat behind the desk,"could i get you anything?? water??"
"i'm good." i said and he nodded.
"alright adaliya...you have two kids and your own business correct...how's that brother of yours ???"
"he's good." i said which was a lie his ass be on the streets every now and then.
but that ain't my business to tell them.
"alright well....there's no easy way to say this but...Journey, she's alive."
"wait wait what you mean she's alive???" i asked.
this ain't no shit to joke about-
"i mean...basically the nurses lied about her dying her father was able to pay them enough and they did surgery on her which is a miracle that even worked, she went into a coma for years...and today she came here and we were basically told her father had been keeping her at another home and her sister...which unfortunately passed due to neglect." he said and i had to sit there and let everything process.
"so you mean to tell me....my wife i thought was died this whole time...has been alive and basically locked away for the past years." i said and he nodded.

"okay...okay wait i need a second." i said holding my head in my hands.
"take all the time you need i can understand how-" i zoned him out as he continued talking.
when i say i wanna kill journey father right now...he's basically been keeping her away from her fuckin family this whole time...that explains why he didn't have a funeral and "cremated her"...
"okay where's her dad???"
"in custody.."
"okay and journey-"
"she's here as we speak when she first got here she immediately wanted us to call you." he said making my heart ache.
"so....can i see her???" i asked and he got up.
"follow me once again..." he said and i followed him out the room down the hall.
"you just wanna go in or??" i didnt even know what to say i was in so much shock.
he opened the door slightly,"journey we have someone here to see you.." he said and opened the door.
i walked in and instantly made eye contact with Journey,"i'll leave you two..." he said and walked out.
it was silent for a minute before i spoke,"hey..."
"hey adaliya..." she said barely above a whisper before looking down.
"c-can i hug you?" she asked with her voice breaking and i nodded my head.
she immediately wrapped her arms around my waist and i wrapped mines around her neck.
she put her head in the crook of my neck and started crying instantly making my eyes water,"i've missed you so fuckin much.." she said breaking the hug and wiping her face.
"i've missed you just as much journey...." i said and she grabbed my hand.
"yourâ your still wearing the ring..." she said and smiled softly.
"of course.." i said.
"did...you have any kids??"
"actually...when you..yeah i was pregnant then and then a year ago i had another girl." i said and she smiled.
"it doesn't even look like you did..." she said and i laughed.
i looked over and saw she had her bags with her,"where you going???"
"i was gonna stay here-"
"nope you coming home wit me...how we gonna tell everybody you still alive i don't even know..." i said and she nodded.
i know one thing for sure...i'm happy as hell to have my baby back
