"will that be all??" the cashier asked making me nod.
"$38.59." she said and i handed her the money.
"have a good day."
i grabbed the bags out the buggy and walked back to my car.
i got in and started my car up quickly checking my phone.
"hello?"
"yo nyah, i'm finna come by there." i said into the phone.
"for what?" she asked making me mug the phone.
"girl you at home or not."
"i am."
"where kova?"
"she with me."
"ight i'll be there in 20." i said then she hung up.
i shook my head as i revered out the parking lot.

i knocked on the door a few times but she didn't answer, i shrugged before using the spare key and opened the door.
"nyah!!" i heard her coming down the stairs in a robe.
"why you bussing my door open like you right?"
"cause you wasn't answering."
"because i was in the shower dumbass." she said picking up kova out her bassinet.
i sat the bags down on her couch,"what's this?" she asked.
"look and see." i said and she handed me kova.
"hey daddys baby..." i cooed to her making her show her gums.
"she can't wear this no more, and she won't take pacis." she said.
"thank you for getting some more formula...and the rest of this stuff." she added on.
"well we can use these the smaller diapers for our next baby." i said making her snap her neck in my direction
"you gotta be outta yo rabbit ass mind...." she said shaking her head.
"yeah yeah.." i said rubbing kova's back
"you good??" i asked her and she nodded.
"what's wrong?"
"iniko i said i'm good ight just go."
"wait- what the hell i do?"
"could've told someone you into gang shit, do you not know how dangerous that stuff is?"
"i mean i do- but-"
"you must not cause you must not wanna be here for your fuckin daughter."
"nyah look i know how dangerous this shit is okay....but i can't just leave it that easy either you gotta understand." i said and she rolled her eyes

"tell me the truth- why you want me out this shit?"
"because my parents died doing the same shit....and i don't want kova growing up without a father figure...all i ever knew was security guards and don't go here or don't go there. yeah sometimes it was fun until they died that's when shit went downhill." she said wiping under her eyes.
she grabbed kova from my arms,"you can let yourself out iniko....just be careful ight." she said before disappearing back upstairs.
i let out a sigh and walked back out making sure the door was locked.
when i started walking back to my car, i heard a car take off catching my attention.
i saw a black car before gunshots started going off making me get down,"damn bruh..." i mumbled taking my gun out and started shooting back.
hate to do this in this nice ass neighborhood-
once the shots died down, i quickly got up and went back to her door.
she opened the door pulling me in then closed it back,"what the fuck was that?" she asked and i could hear kova crying from upstairs.
"look pack yall some shit y'all can't stay here."

"nyah i'm serious whoever them people is know where you and my daughter lay yall head at, y'all not staying here for a minute." i said.

"y'all we ain't found shit here...it's been hours." amare said.
it's been a week since acadia and sahari been missing.
of course we was all worried sick, but journey was a whole other level of worried.
"ain't shit here then what the fuck is this?" journey said holding up an envelope.
i quickly grabbed it and opened it,"it's a letter...and some crack?" i questioned holding up a small bag of white powder.

journey looked over the letter and it's like she was getting ready to destroy anything in her path,"they ain't even in the country...." she said handing the paper to amare.
"how the fuckâ now this shit gonna take longer." amare said looking over the paper.
"this some bullshit bruh." journey said getting up and walked out the room we was in.
amare followed after her while i looked at the paper.

i stopped reading when i heard my phone ringing,"hello?"
"iniko..." i heard acadia say.
"acadia...hello? are you okay where-"
"look .....i- i don't know where i'm at, i'm scared as fuck bro" she said and started crying.
"acadia don't hang up-" i said getting up and quickly went to the computer.
"iniko- they're coming back i gotta go." she said.
"dont-" the phone hung up.
"come on come on...." i said watching the screen load.

"JOURNEY!! AMARE!!" amare came in.
"where journey??"
"she went to go talk to adaliya...you know it's especially hard for her both of her kids missing."Â amare said.
"well....i gotta location."Â i said and i watched amare face light up.
"fuckin where-?" he looked at the computer and patted my shoulder.
"i mean- it is far as hell that's gonna be a plane ride, but find some tickets now...we gotta take this letter to my dad." he said making me nod and get up.

i hugged my mama,"iniko if yo ass do not come back to me alive imma bring you back then beat yo ass to the white meat." she said making me laugh.
"i promise okay...imma be ight." i said and she looked up at me and wiped her eyes.
"stop don't cry." i said and she shook her head.
"make sure you come back." i nodded my head and went to my room.
kova was asleep in her bouncer, i kissed her cheek and rubbed her hand making grab onto my pinky.
i felt my eyes water before getting up,"nyah...." i said and she didn't reply.
she was in my bed facing the wall,"nyah."
"mane...look- you crying?" i asked turning her towards me.
she didn't say nun but wiped her face.
i pulled her onto me and held her in my lap,"why you-"
"because what if you don't come back iniko..." she said.
"imma come back...okay? look at me." she looked up at me and i kissed her forehead.
"imma come back to you both, i know i gotta daughter to take care of and imma take care of you too." i said
"alright..." she mumbled getting out of my lap.
"c'mere." i grabbed her hand making her stand in between my legs.
i took off my chain and put it around her neck,"hold it for me until i come back okay?" i said and she nodded her head.
i stood up and hugged her,"nyah..." she looked up at me with tears in her eyes.
i leaned down and kissed her lips, and she actually kissed back.
"be smart about what you do iniko please." she said.
i wiped her face and kissed her one more time,"i promise i will..." i mumbled against her lips.
