The days that followed the woman’s visit were tense. Jungkook tried his best to push the lingering doubt aside, focusing on the quiet moments he shared with Taehyung. He enjoyed their peaceful mornings, the casual talks about life, and even the meals they shared. Despite this, he couldn’t shake off the unease that had settled in his heart.

Taehyung, for his part, was adamant about proving to Jungkook that his intentions were pure. He worked tirelessly, not only overseeing the estate’s affairs but also investigating the woman’s claims. Taehyung’s protectiveness towards Jungkook became even more evident with each passing day.

One evening, as the two of them sat in the garden, Taehyung finally spoke up. “Jungkook, I’ve discovered who that woman is and why she came here.”

Jungkook looked up from the flowers they had been tending to, his curiosity piqued. “Who is she? And why would she lie about you?”

Taehyung let out a deep sigh, his fingers tightening around Jungkook’s. “Her name is Yuna. She’s from a rival noble family, and her father had plans to marry her to me to strengthen his political ties with my family.” He paused, his eyes narrowing in frustration. “I rejected her, but she’s never let go. She’s been trying to find a way to ruin my reputation and weaken my position.”

Jungkook’s heart sank. “But she... she said that you... you were together before we married.”

Taehyung’s face hardened. “That was a lie, Jungkook. She was never my lover. She’s been spreading rumors to turn you against me, to make you doubt our marriage.”

Jungkook’s mind was racing. “Why would she do that? What does she want from us?”

Taehyung looked down, his jaw clenched tightly. “She wants to destroy everything I’ve worked for. She’s jealous of what we have, Jungkook. And she thinks that by causing doubt between us, she can tear us apart.”

The words hit Jungkook harder than he expected. The betrayal was difficult to swallow, but Taehyung’s honesty gave him a sense of clarity. He knew now that he had been manipulated, but he still struggled with the weight of his emotions.

“Do you think... she’ll try to come back?” Jungkook asked quietly, his voice trembling.

Taehyung’s expression softened as he cupped Jungkook’s face gently. “I won’t let her harm you, Jungkook. No one will ever come between us.”

Jungkook met Taehyung’s gaze, feeling the sincerity in his words. It was in that moment that he realized how much Taehyung truly cared for him. He had fought for him from the beginning, and now, Taehyung was willing to fight for their love.

The next day, Taehyung took action. He summoned his advisors and instructed them to take care of the situation with Yuna. He made it clear that any further attempts to damage his reputation or interfere with his marriage would not be tolerated.

Later that afternoon, Taehyung and Jungkook walked through the estate’s grand hall. As they passed by the servants, they noticed the whispers and glances that followed them. Jungkook could feel the weight of their stares, but he chose to ignore it. He wasn’t going to let anyone’s opinion dictate his happiness anymore.

“I don’t care what they say about us,” Jungkook muttered, his voice firm.

Taehyung smiled, his hand tightening around Jungkook’s. “Neither do I. We’ll face everything together, just the two of us.”

Jungkook looked up at Taehyung, feeling his heart swell with affection. It was moments like this, when they were alone and untouchable by the outside world, that made him feel truly loved.

A few days later, the situation with Yuna was resolved. Taehyung had taken the necessary steps to ensure that she would never threaten their happiness again. The rumors began to fade, and life at the estate slowly returned to normal.

However, Jungkook couldn’t help but notice how Taehyung’s attention had shifted slightly. He was no longer as distant as he had been before; there was a new tenderness in his actions, a care that Jungkook hadn’t realized he was missing. It was as if Taehyung was constantly reminding him that he was there, that he would always be there for him.

Jungkook, in turn, found himself opening up more. His heart, once guarded and filled with uncertainty, was now overflowing with love for the man who had stood by him through it all.

One evening, as they stood on the balcony overlooking the moonlit garden, Jungkook finally spoke what had been on his mind for days.

“Taehyung,” he began, his voice soft, “I don’t think I can ever repay you for everything you’ve done for me. You’ve been my strength when I felt weak, and you’ve given me something I thought I would never have—a chance at happiness.”

Taehyung turned to him, his expression softening. “You don’t need to repay me, Jungkook. I do this because I love you. And nothing in this world could ever change that.”

Jungkook’s heart raced, the sincerity in Taehyung’s words making him feel as though the world had stopped for a moment. He leaned forward, their lips meeting in a gentle kiss. It was a kiss that spoke volumes, conveying everything they had been through, everything they had built together.

As they pulled away, Jungkook smiled, his eyes sparkling. “I’m so lucky to have you.”

Taehyung smiled back, his gaze full of affection. “And I’m lucky to have you.”

With their hearts intertwined, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together—stronger than ever before. And as the night enveloped them in its quiet embrace, they found solace in each other’s arms, ready to continue their journey toward a future filled with love and unwavering devotion.
