Chapter 16: Bonus Chapter: A Family of Love

A Duke's Fragile Love ✔️Words: 4953

It had been five years since that fateful night when Taehyung and Jungkook had married, and the two of them had grown closer than ever before. Their love had only deepened, and they had weathered every storm together, from the rumors and prejudices to Jungkook's illness. But now, as they stood together in the bright, sunny garden of their estate, life had taken on a new rhythm—a beautiful, peaceful rhythm that they had never imagined would be theirs.

Jungkook was laughing, chasing their youngest son, who had inherited his mother's golden eyes. The child darted between the flower beds, his small feet light and quick, but Jungkook was a step ahead, reaching out to scoop him into his arms with a triumphant smile.

"Gotcha!" Jungkook exclaimed, lifting the giggling child high into the air.

Taehyung stood nearby, watching with a tender smile. His heart swelled with warmth as he took in the scene. Their children had brought so much joy into their lives, filling the house with the kind of laughter and happiness that Taehyung had never known as a child. They had five children now—each one a gift, each one a miracle that had brought more meaning to their lives than they could ever explain.

The eldest, a strong-willed daughter with her father's dark hair and her mother's gentle eyes, sat under the large oak tree with her twin brothers. The boys, only a year younger, were playing with their toys, creating imaginary kingdoms in the dirt. Their daughter, Hana, looked up for a moment, noticing her parents watching them, and waved enthusiastically.

"Papa! Papa! Look what we made!" Hana called, her voice full of pride.

Taehyung waved back, his heart swelling with pride as he walked toward her. Jungkook followed, holding their youngest son in his arms, and the little one giggled, tugging at his father's hair playfully.

"What have you made, little one?" Taehyung asked, crouching down beside Hana.

"We built a castle!" Hana beamed, pointing to the elaborate dirt structure she and her brothers had made. "I’m the queen, and my brothers are the knights."

"Is that so?" Taehyung asked, his voice playful. "And what about me and your father? Can we visit your castle?"

"Of course!" Hana exclaimed. "You can be the king and queen!"

Jungkook joined them, placing their son gently in the grass before sitting beside Taehyung. The children rushed to surround him, eager for his attention.

"How’s my little prince?" Jungkook asked, picking up the baby with a soft laugh.

Taehyung watched with affection as their children clung to their parents, their laughter filling the garden like a sweet melody. He never could have imagined that he would one day be surrounded by this kind of love. The childless Duke who had once been cold and distant now had a family that meant the world to him.

"You know," Jungkook said softly, his voice carrying the weight of years of shared love and experiences, "I used to think I was alone. That I didn’t belong anywhere."

Taehyung turned to him, his eyes full of warmth. "And now?" he asked.

"Now," Jungkook smiled, "I know I belong right here. With you. With our children."

Taehyung’s heart swelled with emotion, and he reached for Jungkook’s hand, intertwining their fingers. "I don’t think I ever knew what it truly meant to be happy until you came into my life," he murmured.

Jungkook turned his head, his expression serious now, as he faced Taehyung. "I was scared," he admitted softly. "I was scared that I would never get to experience love, to know what it felt like to be truly wanted. But then I met you, and everything changed."

"And I’ll never let you go," Taehyung promised, his voice steady, unwavering. "You and our children are my world. I’ve found everything I’ve ever wanted in you."

As they exchanged a quiet, meaningful look, their children continued to play around them, a symbol of the beautiful life they had built together. Despite all the hardships they had faced, despite the battles they had fought—both internal and external—Taehyung and Jungkook had found peace and love in one another.

And it was a love that had created a family—a family of joy, of laughter, of moments like these where everything felt right in the world.

As the sun set behind them, casting a soft, golden glow over the garden, Taehyung gathered the children in his arms, holding them close, while Jungkook wrapped his arms around all of them, his eyes shining with unspoken affection.

"Family," Jungkook whispered, his voice full of contentment. "This is our family."

Taehyung smiled, his heart full. "Yes. Our family."

And as the sky darkened, the laughter of their children echoing in the distance, Taehyung knew in his heart that no matter what challenges life might throw their way, they would face them together—united as a family, bound by love and unbreakable trust.

They had found their peace. Their home. And they would protect it with everything they had.
