That feeling of sourness, pain, and absolute despair is something she would never forget for the rest of her life.
So, even though Xiang Yirou was not as directly sharp as Liu Yiyi, the impression she left on herself was significantly deeper than Yiyiâs.
Looking back now, even though she married Qin Zhiyou on a whim, she must admit that her early married life was quite decent. Untilâ¦
Lu Weixiâs eyelashes trembled, she stopped speaking and slightly lowered her head.@@novelbin@@
She admitted that her motherâs words had struck a chord deep within her. She found it hard to let go.
âMom, let the bygones be bygones. Now that Iâve given him another chance, I wonât readily bring up the past.â After a long pause, she took a deep breath and slowly spoke.
âYou know my current situation. Without a major project, I get around thirty thousand a month. But the big projects⦠you understand. Even though Iâve been working hard to be worthy of these projects, without Zhiyouâs help, I wouldnât be able to secure them. Iâm working on my PhD and high-ranking professional qualifications, but thereâs no telling what kind of projects I may get afterwards. Besides medical expenses, everything else could become a struggle for survival.â
She couldnât divorce, that was a realistic factor. She had signed an agreement with Mrs. Yang Mogui before her marriage. If she were to initiate a divorce, no matter what the reason, she wouldnât be entitled to any assets. Perhaps Qin Zhiyou would give her some marital assets, and she wouldnât have to scrimp and save every month to make ends meet, but her motherâs funds for medical aid werenât something she could obtain just by having money.
And then there were the projects in her hands.
In recent months, with Qin Zhiyouâs help, she was able to get involved in several other major projects. Some as the lead designer, some just as a team member. Without a doubt, her progress in recent months had been rapid, remarkably so. It was faster than everything she had learned so far, throughout her years of hard work and learning in school.
After all, design wasnât just about having solid basics, lightning-fast inspiration or refined artistic taste, it also required practical application.
Participating in major projects, even just in a supporting role, taught her about other designersâ methods and techniques. Interacting with them also broadened her horizons and enriched her ideas. She no longer rejected Qin Zhiyouâs offer of help. She no longer insisted on doing everything on her own. These projects and resources werenât things she could obtain on her own.
Just like Xue Feifei, one had to admit, without Yu Sixing, Feifei wouldnât have been able to get those acting deals, no matter how talented she was.
Of course, just like Xue Feifei, she wasnât just taking easy and wealthy jobs lying in the comfort zone created by Qin Zhiyou. After taking on a project, she would work hard to improve herself, to match her capacity with the demands of the projects.
Mom Lu shook her head.
There were only two scenarios where a person would console themselves with these objective conditions. One, they didnât love this person. Just like Xue Feifei and Yu Sixing, she didnât love him, so their interaction was seen as an exchange of benefits. Since they couldnât break up, they might as well get as much as they could out of the relationship. Two, they were deeply in love and because of this love, they would use these objective conditions to convince themselves and imagine the other personâs good points.
Her daughter might have been the former in the past, but now she was definitely the latter.
âSo what youâre saying is, my illness is dragging down your life.â
