Chapter Nine - You're A Werewolf

Milo's P.O.V -

Lincoln stared for a few moments his family watched anxiously at the interaction between us. He growled storming out of the room and up the stairs, everyone could hear his door slamming.

"Shit." Wyatt cursed sinking into his seat.

"Language." His mum glared.

I pinched the bridge of my nose taking a few deep breaths. "Excuse me." I stood up  walking to the living room to grab my coat before stepping outside.

I pulled two bottles of pills from my coat pocket twisting off the cap of one of the bottles. "Milo?"

The voice made me jump and drop the bottles. "Fuck." I watched as the pills spilled out of one of the bottles pouring onto the deck.

"Sorry!" Wyatt apologized getting onto his knees to pick up the two bottles one of which was now empty. He glanced at the label quickly before I snatched them off him.

"Methylphenidate and Citalopram, what are those for?" He asked curiously.

"Mind you're own business!" I snapped.

I stared at where they were scattered over the floor. My mum's going to kill me, I lost my medication a week ago and now I've spilled the replacements on the floor. I'll just have to wait until I get my prescription in a few weeks.

I look to see which bottle was empty and groan, I opened the Citalopram taking one and popping it into my mouth while checking the time. Only three minutes early.

"I'm going to get a dust pan to clean this up." Wyatt mumbled. I just nodded watching him leave.

He came back a few minutes later and I stood there quietly while he cleaned up.

I grind my teeth holding the empty bottle. Well the next few weeks are going to be pretty shit.

"Do you want me to take the bottle?" Wyatt asked. I sighed tossing it to him, he caught it before walking back into the house.

I took a few deep breaths attempting to relax my muscles. I tried to relax, running through all the techniques I had been taught over the years. After ten minutes I walked back into the living room and headed straight up the stairs in search of Lincoln.

I knocked on his door but there was no reply. I opened it slowly and took a step inside. I noticed that the bed was torn up as was the wallpaper. I heard growls from behind the bed so I crept towards it. I spotted a ball of dark fur.

The wolf lept onto the bed growling at me, but I didn't even flinch. I stared into it's eyes feeling completely safe.

"Hello Lincoln." I said.

He backed down from his defensive stance before sitting and tilting his head. He looked cute despite the fact that he could easily kill me.

"Do you want to change back so we can talk?" I reached out to touch his fur but he moved back.

He shook his large head. "Oh so you're gonna stay like this forever?" I asked, he nodded.

I chuckled sitting on the bed. "You know it's not much fun having a one sided conversation."

He took a large step forward placing his head on my lap, looking up at me with wide eyes. I raised my hand stroking his head and scratching behind his ear.

"Come on, we need to talk." I insisted.

He let out a small growl standing up and jumping off the bed. He walked through the open doors of the bathroom so I couldn't see him. I heard some loud cracks which made me wince until it went silent.

"Can you pass me some clothes?" Lincoln called from the bathroom.

I grabbed the dressing gown from his wardrobe and tossed it into the bathroom before sitting back down on the bed.

"Thanks." He said. He emerged from the bathroom looking incredibly nervous.

"So you're a werewolf." I pointed out the obvious.

"Yeah." He sighed walking over and sitting down on the bed. He purposely sat as far away as possible.

I rolled my eyes with a small smile before shuffling over to him and resting my head on his shoulder.  "That's cool."

"You're not scared?" He looked at me confused.

I scoffed. "Obviously not."

"Did you already know?" He asked slowly.

"Yeah I figured it out a couple days ago, but I knew something was weird about all of you as soon as we met." I explained.

"A couple days ago?" He thought for a moment. "So before our date?"

"Yeah." I nodded. "I figured it out right before I asked you to go on a date with me."

A goofy grin spread across his face. "So you didn't go on a date with me because of my dad, you went on a date with me because I'm a werewolf."

I shook my head. "I went on a date with you because I like you." I spoke without thinking through my words.

I didn't think his smile could get wider but it somehow did. "This is the best day of my life."

"That's a bit of an exaggeration." I stated.

"It really isn't." He said.

"Are there things you need to explain?" He stared at me confused. "About werewolves?"

"Oh right!" He exclaimed. "Uh so you need to know about mates and about pack hierarchy."

"Mates, are basically soulmates right? Who you're destined to be with or whatever?" I asked.

"Uh pretty much, we have the ability to know who they are as soon as you see them once you turn sixteen." He expanded on my description.

"I know that the Alpha is in charge, I think there's a Luna or something. I don't know any of the others." I shrugged unsure.

"You're right, the Alpha's is the leader. The alpha's mate is a Luna. Then there's the beta who is second in command and the gamma who is third in command. A pack has warriors who patrol the territory and fight against other packs when necessary. There are normal pack members then there are omegas. Omega's used to be considered lower than others and were forced to cook and clean. Now they're are basically normal pack members who just happen to have smaller and naturally weaker wolves." He explained while I tried to keep track of everything in my head.

"Okay." I processed the information. "So what are you?"

"I'm the Alpha." He spoke proudly.

"So that makes me the Luna then." I whispered.

He watched my reaction. "So you know you're my mate?"

"Well you literally said it at dinner." I laughed.

"Oh right." He said.

"So I'll take a guess and say that Wyatt is the beta and Cora is the gamma?" He nodded. "So what is Cole."

"He's Cora's mate, doesn't really have a name. If Cora's mate was female she probably would've been referred to as gamma female but the same doesn't apply to males." He informed me.

"So Lucy is the beta female then?" I smirked.

"Yeah." His eyes widened. "I mean- Just forget I said that."

"You can't expect me not to tell Lucy." I stated.

"Please." He begged. "Just wait until Wyatt tells her."

"I think she already knows." I thought it through. "Fine I'll wait, but if she asks me I'm not going to lie." He nods a small smile returning to his face.

"She knows?" Lincoln spoke surprised.

"Well we were trying to figure out what was different about you lot together." I explained. "So if she doesn't know already she's close to finding out."

"What do you think she'll do?" Lincoln asked. "About Oliver I mean."

"I think she'll break up with him." I spoke honestly. "She would realize how important mates are and choose Wyatt."

"Oh thank god." He sighed clearly relieved for his friend.

"She's going to be so excited." I smiled. "She used to read these stupid werewolf love stories. It's how I learnt what mates were."

He laughed. "Wyatt will find that funny."

"So can you turn into a wolf at birth or is it at a certain age?" I spoke curiously.

"You shift when you turn sixteen." He said.

We spoke for another half an hour about werewolves and all the basics I should know. Apparently there are evil wolves called rogues that I should stay away from.

"Can we eat?" I asked since we missed dinner.

"Great. I'm starving." He smiled standing up.

"Where do you want to go? Preferably somewhere close." I followed him out of the room and down the stairs.

"There's this little diner not too far away." He suggested grabbing his coat.

"Sounds good." I nodded.

We got into my car and I followed his directions to the restaurant.

"This place looks pretty nice." I looked around at the small building.

The waiter guided us to our table we sit down and quickly order. I wonder how weird we look dressed in pajamas and a dressing gown.

"I can't believe how okay you are with everything." Lincoln spoke amazed.

"But how did you expect me to react?" I laughed, I spotted someone sat a couple tables away and my smile dropped. "Wait! What the fuck?"

"Yeah that's kind of what I expected." Lincoln chuckled.

"No, what the hell is he doing?" I couldn't take my eyes off the table where Mark was sat with a woman. A woman which was not my mother.

"Who is that?" Lincoln asked now looking at the table.

"I'm going to kill him." I gritted out my hands trembling.

"Who is it?" Lincoln repeated.

"My mum's boyfriend." I could hardly talk at this point.

"Oh shit." He cursed. "Maybe it isn't what you think, maybe it's a friend or his sister."

"Maybe." I narrowed my eyes glaring at them.

Mark dipped his spoon into the shared bowl of ice cream and fed the woman who licked the spoon sensually. He smiled before kissing her.

I jumped up from the table knocking over my chair. I stormed over to the table grabbing his collar and pulling him up from the table.

"What the fuck is this?" I hissed. "Is my mother not good enough for you so you decide to sneak around with this slut."

"You're mother is a prude, I had to get some action from someone." He smirked not caring that I had caught him.

"Action?" I glared. "You sound so fucking cool."

"You're mum deserves this, she's a bitch."

I slammed my fist into his jaw, he retaliated immediately punching me in the eye. I pummeled my hands into his face over and over again until he fell on the floor. I then began to kick him in the stomach.

I get pulled back into someone's arms. "Milo you've done enough."

"Let go of me." I spat out when Mark stood up a smirk still on his face.

"Be careful." Lincoln whispered before releasing me.

As soon as I stepped forward I fell back with a strong punch to my jaw. Lincoln caught me watching me concerned. I stood up and fought back harder than I did before. He fell to the floor and curled into a ball like the coward he is.

The girl he had been sat with didn't seem to care and joined me in glaring at him. I crouched down next to him ready to insult him for one last time but he lifted his head to look at me a small smile etched onto his face.

"If you tell you're mum about this I'll tell you're mother about you're boyfriend over there." He spoke in a sickly sweet tone. "I bet she'll be so proud."

I punched him in the throat making him splutter. I stood up rushing out. I heaved as soon as I stepped through the door through, the stomach acids burn my throat as the vomit splashes against the concrete. I felt someone rubbing my back as I continued to throw up.

She's going to find out. She's going to hate me. She'll disown me. I'm going to get kicked out of the house.

I began to hyperventilate and dots filled my site.

"Milo!" I faintly heard Lincoln calling me. I fell down and I hoped I hadn't landed in my sick. "You need to breath."

I couldn't. I continued to gasp for air and I felt sobs through my body. I felt arms picking me up and carrying me to my car. He placed me in the passenger seat and waited.

"Lucy." I finally managed to speak. "I need Lucy."

I broke down once again and sobbed in the car, in the background I could hear Lincoln's panicked voice. I get pulled into his lap and soak his shirt just as he did earlier today.

The door swung open and I hear a gasp. "Milo." Lucy rubbed my arm. "It's okay everything will be okay."

I felt my body shaking. "Look at me." Lucy gently touched my cheeks. "I want you to breath with me."

I nodded. "Breath in, 1, 2,3. Hold it, 1,2. Breath out, 1,2,3." She spoke calmly.

We did this many times before my breath got back to normal and my vision was clear.

"Thank you." I told Lucy who smiled sadly at me.

"What happened?" She asked me.

"I'll tell you on the way home." I told her.

She nodded. "My cars over there." She gestured to a few spaces away.

"Lincoln I'll call you later okay?" I told him.

"Goodbye, I hope you feel better." He spoke sincerely.

Lucy and I walked over to her car as she kept giving me worried glances. I rolled my eyes climbing into the car.

"So what happened?" She asked as she began to drive me home.

"I caught Mark cheating on my mum." She gasped. "We got into a fight and he threatened to tell my mum that I'm gay if I tell her about the affair."

Her jaw was slack and she remained silent.

"No advice?" I asked her.

"I honestly don't know what to say, sorry." She apologized.

I sighed. "I'm going to have to decide between my relationship with my mum and her knowing the truth about her boyfriend."

"I think you should tell her." She stated. "I know this is going to be difficult but your mum deserves to know, and you were going to tell her about you being gay eventually."

I nodded slowly but didn't comment on it. She pulled up outside my house.

"Don't rush into a decision, take you're time and think it through." She spoke softly. "And put some ice on your face."

"Thank you." I got at the car. "Bye."

"See you tomorrow." She smiled.

I rushed into the house immediately checking if my mum had gotten home yet. I quickly grabbed an ice pack wrapping it in a paper towel and running up stairs with Buddy before my mum got home.

I looked in the mirror in my room cringing at the dark bruise on my chin. I placed the ice pack on it wincing slightly.

I laid down on the bed staring at the ceiling thinking through my choices. My mum is going to be devastated to find out about Mark and she'll be disgusted to find out about me. So that option causes her a lot of pain.

If I don't tell her life will go on as normal. That is until she finds out about Mark's affair later on in their relationship and is even more upset. While I'll increase in fear and worry until I eventually tell her much later and get the exact same reaction.

I have to tell her.

"Milo? You home?" My mum called as she entered the house.

I took a deep breath my eyes already welling up with tears. I stood up from the bed walking down the stairs slowly trying to postpone the inevitable.

"Yeah I'm home." My voice wavered.

"Oh bambino." She pouted. "Another fight?"

She walks over pressing the ice pack harder against my chin. "What happened this time?"

"Actually I think you should sit down." I told her.

"No." She spoke immediately pulling away and crossing her arms. "Don't beat around the bush, tell me what's happened."

"Well there's two things actual and I'm not really sure which I should say first-"

"Milo." She narrowed her eyes.

"Fine sorry. I was at this diner-" The doorbell rang cutting me off.

She sighed looking in the direction of the door. "I'm going to go see who that is, but you better be ready to tell me when I get back."

She opens the door and in came Mark. Of course.

"What happened?" Her eyes widened. "Wait." She threw a glance over to me and realization washed over her face.

"Milo what were you going to tell me?" The glare returned on her face.

"Oh so you decided to tell her then." He held a similar glare to my mother.

"Tell me what!" She snapped. "Tell me now."

"Mark's been having an affair." I blurted. "I saw him when I went for dinner and I got mad and had a fight with him."

"W-what?" She stuttered tears forming in her eyes as she turned to Mark.

He just shrugged stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Milo's gay."

I felt my tears fall as I watched her process the information. "Mum?"

"Mark I need you to leave." She refused to look at him as he silently left the house having done the damage he intended.

"He cheated on me?" She whispered.

"Yeah, he was-"

"I wasn't talking to you." She stepped away from me, she paced around the room mumbling things.

"You're g-gay." She struggled to get out the words.

I nodded. "I'm sorry mamma." My lip trembled.

She took a deep breath rubbing his eyes. "Can you stay at a friends' tonight?"

"Yes." I spoke quietly. That was a lie, I already knew that Lucy had family from Florida staying over so she wouldn't have any space in the house. Oliver's house was out, obviously. Lincoln? I guess but I wouldn't want to bother him.

"You're lying." She pointed out. "I know when you're lying remember?"

"I can sleep in the car." I offered.

"Don't be an idiot." She huffed. "Just go to you're room, we'll talk in the morning."

I darted to my room and closed the door quietly. I sent Lincoln a quick text saying I couldn't call him. I quickly fell asleep to escape my thoughts.

I guess I'll just have to wait until the morning.
