"What?!"
"No way!"
This time, even Sufi couldnât maintain her calm façade. Her hands trembled in fear and she asked in a dull, shaky voice.
"Then are weâ¦going to die?"
Bonnieâs breath stagnated upon hearing Sufiâs words. Her pupils shook as if afraid, but she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
The next moment, her closed eyes flashed open. No longer terrified as before, but rather determined. She had completely calmed down from her previous fear and tightened her grip on the hammerâs handle. As if ready to face death to the end.
*Boom*
She smashed the approaching Veno Bats into minced meat and made her heartfelt declaration.
"Even if I die, Iâll die fighting alongside you guys!"
Tears dripped down her fierce eyes as she continued. "Although this time was short, Iâm really glad to become teammates with you! Sufi! Luis!"
When thinking of Cobert, she whispered.
"At least Cobert is safe outside."
Her voice didnât contain any jealousy or resentment. Only relief.
Complicated emotions overwhelmed Sufi. She never expected that they would fall into such a trap, even while knowing that Kress was up to something bad. They still came in.
She didnât blame Luis or anyone else on this matter. Because she followed them willingly and took the risk, she could only be responsible for herself. Even if she dies now, itâs only because of her lack of ability to break this formation. She had this self-awareness.
Itâs already been 4 minutes since the red fog has appeared. Which means in another minute or so. The temperature will start rising and they wonât be far away from death.
Although, it may be their last struggle. They still didnât stop killing the approaching Veno Bats.
âSorry, Dad.â (x2)
âI canât become a brilliant technician like you.â
âI canât inherit your mantle anymore.â
Helpless, just when the two of them were depressed. Luis started walking in a particular direction.
"Huh? Where are you going, Luis?" Bonnie asked, confused by his sudden movements. Just now, she confessed her heartfelt thoughts. Even if he ignores her and doesnât respond. What does it mean to turn your back and leave? Isnât this a bit too cold?
âAm I so unbearable?â
Annoyed, she puffed her cheeks in anger. If not for their current situation, she even wanted to beat him up and tell him that Bonnie Brown is not someone to mess with.@@novelbin@@
Luis was unaware of her outrageous thoughts and calmly spoke with his back facing them.
"Guys, hold back the Veno Bats for me. Just a few minutes should be enough."
"What are you going to do?" Sufiâs brows furrowed, confused by his words. Is there any meaning behind it?
Luis didnât turn back, just said.
"What to do? Break the formation, of course!"
"!!!"
What he said was like an understatement, but when it fell in the ears of Sufi and Bonnie. It was like a thunderous explosion inside their heads.
"Wait a second! You said, can it be broken?!"
Although Bonnie heard Luisâ words, to confirm it, she still asked with a shutter, disbelief written all over her face.
Luis glanced back at her and muttered while tilting his head. "Or else?"
"â¦"
"â¦"
"What about the horrible things you said before? Corroding to death! Burning to death! Temperature reaches magma!"
The more she spoke, the more excited Bonnie got. When mentioning those possibilities of death, her voice couldnât help but become hysterical. Even Sufi on the side was perplexed.
Luis didnât seem to notice this. He squatted down to examine the uneven ground and said in an affirmative tone. "Itâs all true. I just explained the mechanism behind this formation."

Before Bonnie could ask, he continued.
"But I never said I canât break it. Right?"
"â¦"
"â¦"
Bonnie and Sufi looked at each other, and excited smiles appeared on their pretty faces. Even if they had prepared themselves for death, no one wants to die, after all.
Now that their depression was swept away, they let go of their hands and put all their focus on killing and keeping the monsters away from Luis.
"Why didnât you state this earlier?" Bonnie asked with excitement. Sufi also wanted to hear Luisâ answer. After all, if he had told them earlier, they wouldnât be so afraid before.
"Well," Luis glanced back at them, flashed a smile, and spoke in a teasing tone. "You were being so emotional before. How could I bear to interrupt you?"
Upon hearing this, Bonnie almost lost her hammerâs grip and Sufi choked while chanting the spell. It felt as if someone poured cold water over their heads. All their excitement faded away in an instant.
Veins bulged out on Bonnieâs forehead, and she gritted her teeth in anger. She glared at Luis as if she couldnât wait to chew him to death.
Sufiâs expression also became frosty. If they didnât depend on him to break the formation. She would have shot him with her spells without hesitation.
Luis seemed to feel their dangerous stares. He said with a slight chuckle while waving his hand. "Okay, donât look at me like that. I was just trying to lighten the mood."
Itâs better not to explain. Once he said so, they looked at him with even more resentment.
Then followed a series of curses in their hearts, but they didnât speak them out loud. They planned to wait until they escaped the formation. Then give him a good beating.
Luis ignored their piercing stares and asked via telepathy.
{Is it here, Lily?}
{According to my calculations and the size of this formation, this should be the most likely spot. Iâm 90% certain.}
{What about the rest 10%?}
{If the medium used for this formation is not an object. Then thereâs 10% uncertainty.}
{Okay, then we can only dig and find out.}
He pretended to use the mana bracelet and took out a shovel from his pocket space.
{Lily, give me an approx of how deep the object is buried?}
{It should be less than a meter, Master!}
After receiving the answer, Luis didnât waste any time and started shoveling at speed so fast that he left after images because of his rapid actions.
