211 Disappointment: Part 1
âHeâs already so old, yet he still thinks that the world revolves around him? Why would anyone give up anything valuable to him? Heâs just jealous of people making money now. Just ask him, he said he wanted to set up a game company. After taking such a large sum of money, heâs been fishing for three days and drying his nets for two days. Has he set up a game company yet?â
Papa Le snorted coldly.
âDonât say that he was a step too slow and didnât seize the opportunity. Even if we give him the opportunity today, can he run this game? If you want to be like others and earn money while lying down, you have to have the ability to do so!â
Grandpa Leâs phone call was on speaker, so the three of them could hear Papa Leâs words clearly.
Usually, when Papa Le was at home, although he didnât talk much, he rarely spoke harshly to his family. Therefore, this was the first time they heard him being so strict and criticizing Second Uncle Le without mercy.
Old Master Le and Old Madam Le looked at each other and didnât dare to speak for a while. When Second Uncle Le heard this, he was both angry and afraid. After a long time, he gathered his courage and gritted his teeth,
âBig brother, you are clearly looking down on me.â
âIf you want others to look up to you, then do something worthy of their respect. Donât just stare at the things in other peopleâs pockets all day long. You want others to put money in your pocket and then sit back and enjoy the fruits of othersâ labor!â
Papa Le had been disappointed over and over again, but he had been too lazy to teach this little brother.
If he could change with just a few words, he couldnât be muddleheaded for half his life. So, Papa Le hung up the phone after saying that.
âFather, youâre still here. Are you just going to let big brother talk about me like this?â
Second Uncle Le was cowardly in front of his big brother but was very loud to his father. In the end, he was just relying on the fact that Old Master Le wouldnât do anything to him.
Old Master Le was so angry at the scoundrelly behavior that he had a headache.
âIs your brother wrong? I think he just didnât care much about you in the past.â
âHeâs not my father, what right does he have to control me like this?â Second Uncle Le was unconvinced.
Old Master Le only wanted to use his walking stick to pry open his blockhead.
âYou know that heâs only your elder brother, not your father. If you continue to make a scene like this, how long do you think he can indulge you?â
Old Master Leâs face was pale with anger. He slumped into the chair to catch his breath.
âYour mother and I are already over 70 years old. I donât know how long we can live. If you feel wronged now, you can still shout before us. Your big brother will give us face and not argue with you and take care of you a little. But after we leave, will your big brother still care about you?â
Second Uncle Le was shocked at first, and the scene of him being alone and in dire straits appeared in his mind. But then he thought of something and said,
âSince youâre so worried about me and think that I canât support this family, why donât you give me more shares of the company so that I can live the rest of my life without worry?â
He sneered.
âYouâve said it yourself. Big brother is so capable. Even if he doesnât have those shares, he wonât have to worry about the rest of his life. But in the end, the two of you still love big brother more and are unwilling to take things from him.â
Old Master Le and Old Madam Le didnât expect him to be so shameless.
Seeing her youngest son in this state, Old Madam Le was heartbroken.
âSo this is what you always think. Thatâs why you keep finding trouble with your brother and blame your father and me.â
âThatâs what I should have!â Second Uncle Le straightened his neck.
Grandpa Leâs face was full of disappointment as if he had aged ten years. His tone was also a little dejected.
âI gave the company to your brother many years ago. I will not interfere in how he handles the companyâs affairs in the future.â
Second Uncle Le panicked when he heard what he said.
âWhat do you mean by that?â
âYour mother and I still have some private property left. Weâll make a will, and after we die, weâll split it evenly between you two brothers. This is the only thing your mother and I can leave for you.â
Grandpa Le stood up while holding Grandma Leâs hand and entered the room.
âThe chef at home is on leave today, so we wonât be keeping you for dinner. If thereâs nothing important in the future, you donât have to come to the old mansion anymore. Just treat it as if weâre dead.â
Second Uncle Le saw that he was about to cut off all ties with him and couldnât help but feel flustered. He wanted to follow after him but Old Master Le slammed the door shut and shut him outside.
