Fox had his arm draped over my shoulder as we walked back into the village. Georgie ran up to us as we came into the village center, âThis place is so cool. Did you know they have a,â he paused with a thoughtful look on his face, âI donât remember what itâs called, but itâs where water goes over a thing. Berto took me. Itâs so pretty.â
âA waterfall?â I asked, making him nod his head enthusiastically. Fox chuckled, âYeah! I think Iâve seen it before. Maybe the first time I came here?â
âI wouldnât mind seeing this waterfall,â Fox said.
I smiled, âI donât think I remember the way-â
âI do! I can take you!â Georgie all but shouted, jumping up and down excitedly.
Fox and I laughed, âLead the way Little Dragon.â
He skipped ahead, not waiting on us to make sure we were following. As we walked to the waterfall, Georgie talked the entire way, only stopping a few times to look around and make sure heâs going the right way. Soon I heard the waterfall, âDo you guys hear it?â Georgie asked excitedly.
âWe hear it, Little Dragon,â I said with a chuckle.
Finally the jungle let out to a beautiful waterfall. âWow,â Fox said quietly.
âHave you used your abilities before, Georgie?â I asked him, looking down at him.
He shook his head, âJoseph didnât let us.ââ
Fox and I shared a look, âDo you know what your dragon allows you to do?â He shook his head again, âDo you talk to your dragon?â He nodded his head enthusiastically, âask him what you can do. He should know.â
Georgie closed his eyes tight, trying to concentrate. After about a minute he opened his eyes, but instead of his hazel eyes, he looked at me with bright cat eyes, âMy queen,â his dragon said, with a slight bow of his head, âIâm Halwell. We have all the abilities that a storm dragon is gifted with by the goddess.â
I squatted down and brought our foreheads together, allowing our dragons to meet, âItâs so nice to meet you Halwell. Would you like to try out your abilities?â I pulled back and Niamh grumbled over the loss. Halwell nodded, âOkay, give Georgie control back and weâll work on it.â
âYes my Queen,â he responded before giving Georgie control back. I watched as his eyes returned to normal as Halwell fell back and allowed Georgie to take back control.
He swayed slightly as he did, âGeorgie are you okay?â
He looked up at me, âYeah. Halwell doesnât usually take over like that.â
âAre you still up for a little bit of practice?â He nodded quickly, causing Fox and I to chuckle, âOkay Little Dragon, but if it becomes too much for you tell me. It takes a while to build up the strength it takes to use your abilities for a long time. Promise me youâll tell me if you start to feel tired.â
âI will. I promise,â he said with a serious look on his face.
I sat down with my legs crossed in front of me, âWeâre just going to work on water today. Sit down here and close your eyes,â I said, patting the spot next to me, and he quickly did as instructed. âFeel the water thatâs in front of you,â he started to lean forward to stick his hand in the water, causing me to chuckle. âNo Little Dragon,â I gently poked him in the chest. âFeel it right here. Sense the water around you, then allow your magic to flow out of you freely.â I watched as his forehead crinkled, trying to do as I had instructed. Finally I saw the water start to move a little, âgood. Now visualize in your head what you want the water to do. Try to make a small ball with it.â
I watched as a small ball of water separated from the pool of water. He opened his eyes, âIâm doing it!â As soon as he exclaimed, the small ball of water dropped back into the pool, causing his face to fall.
I rubbed his back, âItâs okay Georgie. It took me a long time to learn how to use my abilities, and Iâm still training with my new abilities.â
-Foxâs POV-
I watched Amaya training Georgie and was so impressed. She was a deadly assassin, yet she had so much patience with him. I sat down next to her and grabbed her other hand, giving it a squeeze. She looked over at me when I did, and I gave her a smile and kiss on her forehead. She gave me a smile, before turning back to Georgie, âClose your eyes again,â he did as he was told, âOkay now do the same thing. Visualize what you want the water to do.â Again a small ball of water was pulled out of the pool. âGood, now before you open your eyes, keep the visual of what you want to happen in your head. Donât lose that visual as you open your eyes.â
Slowly Georgie opened his eyes, âIâm doing it and itâs actually staying!â He said gleefully.
âGreat job. Now visualize it moving,â she said, and his brow furrowed a little under the strain. It took a few seconds before the small ball started moving, and his face lit up with happiness when it did.
It was moving for just a few seconds before it fell back into the pool. âWhy does that keep happening?â He asked in a frustrated voice.
âYour abilities arenât fully developed and it takes a lot of training before you will be able to fully control your abilities. Itâs just going to take patience.â She said, rubbing his back gently, âHow do you feel?â
âI feel okay. Just a little tired,â he said.
âYouâre doing great Georgie,â I said to him, causing him to look at me with a smile.
âThanks Fox,â he said with a small smile on his face.
-Amayaâs POV-
Fox had silently been watching the entire time, until Georgie started to get a little discouraged by his inability to hold onto the water. I squeezed his hand in a silent thank you. âItâs time for a break, Little Dragon.â Georgie started to object, but I stopped him, âWe can keep training when we get home, but I donât want you to overdo it today.â
âOkay,â he pouted.
âAmaya? Where are you? I just landed. Meet me in the center of the village, please,â Daniel linked me.
âWeâre at the waterfall. Weâll make our way to you,â I linked back. âCome on. Danielâs here,â I said to Georgie and Fox.
We stood up and Fox picked Georgie up and put him on his shoulders. âWhy do you call your dad by his first name?â Georgie asked, looking down at me.
âI wasnât raised by him, so usually I call him Daniel unless I want to call him Dad.â
