Chapter Two
Jaxon
Two weeks ago...
The lads and I had just finished a performance in LA and were arriving back at the hotel when I felt my phone buzz in my back pocket. I pulled it out, wondering who would be calling me at this time of the night.
"Hey mom," I said happily in my thick Irish accent. It had been a while since I had gotten to speak with my family since I had first started the tour.
My smile immediately dropped when I heard her frantic voice on the other end of the phone.
"Mom, what's happening?" I asked worriedly. I listened closely, trying to decipher what she was trying to say through her panicked tears. What I could understand made my eyes widen in shock.
"Uncle Pete?" My voice broke, "What's happened to him?" I questioned her worriedly.
As she was going in to detail, I was rushing around my hotel room, gathering my belongings as quickly as I could. Family would always come first for me, no matter what.
"Okay, I'll be there as soon as I can." I ended the call and rushed to pack my bags. My uncle Pete had been in a major accident and had been airlifted to the hospital. He had apparently refused treatment from anywhere but the Los Angeles hospital where my aunt used to work.
I threw myself into the car and sped towards the hospital, fearing the worst.
If I only knew how much a trip to the hospital would change my life.
