Chapter Fifty

Kegan

As soon as Kelsey and I had found the papers that Tristan had hidden behind a poster of his, we had contacted the police. Now things seemed to finally be moving forward.

I breathed a sigh of relief. I knew we were going to find her because there just simply was no other option. We were going to find her safe and sound, and we were going to take her home away from that freak for good.

The police had just gotten word that they had finally obtained the warrant they needed to move in on the large estate we believed he was keeping her in. There were swat teams in the building, going over strategy.

They believed that the only way to get him was going to be by surprise. They didn't want to give him too much time to think, because they believed he would rather kill Grace than let her get away again, so negotiations could be more dangerous than necessary.

Kelsey came up to me and leaned into my shoulder. I could tell she was exhausted, and our bodies were running on pure hope. We wanted to be there the moment Grace was freed.

Michael and Luisana had been worried sick, and I had seen Luisana have to run to the bathroom and puke a few times with the amount of stress this was putting on her body.

She had been crying a lot- and it broke my heart to see them so torn apart.

I was going to hold it together for them and for Grace.

A commotion outside the door caused everyone to look over. I could hear yelling and I jumped up in surprise. I headed to the door and threw it open when I heard what sounded like an Irish accent.

"Let me through!" Jaxon yelled at the police officer. "Grace is my girl-"He cut off abruptly, realizing he had broken up with her and had no right to address her as his girlfriend. I could see his eyes glassy with tears.

"Hey, he's with me." I said, walking towards Jaxon. I held the door open for him and he looked at me with so much appreciation I had to swallow the lump in my throat. His friend, Jacob came inside as well.

The police officer shrugged and reluctantly let him pass. Jax walked into the briefing room and Luisana jumped up from her seat.

"Jaxon!' She cried, running over to hug him. She squeezed him tightly, trying not to cry again.

I could see the silent tears running down his face. "I'm so sorry, Luisana." Jax whispered sadly.

She pulled away finally, rubbing his shoulder. "Don't you worry. We're going to get her back."

Jaxon nodded, walking over to Michael. He reached his hand out for a handshake but Michael pulled him into a hug instead.

"This isn't your fault Jax. We'll get her back." Michael said gruffly, trying to keep it together himself.

Jaxon sat beside Kelsey and I and we watched the minutes drag by on the clock.

It was clear he was running out of patience much like the rest of us, as he jumped up from his seat and stormed over to where the officers were talking.

"Don't you think you've done enough talking?" Jax snapped, his eyes ablaze with anger. "I think it's about time we made a move on the house. We have no idea what he's doing to her!" He yelled in frustration.

The man in charge of the operation, Chief Lukas, nodded.

"I understand what you're saying, trust me. But we have to make sure this is perfect. We probably won't have a second chance at this if it goes wrong."

Lukas's words hung heavily in the room, leaving us all to imagine what he meant.

One of the S.W.A.T. members walked up to Lukas and spoke quietly to him.

When the man left again, Chief Lukas turned to face us, a solemn expression on his face.

"We're ready to move in." He announced.
