"Zewu-jun. How are-" Xiao Zhan trailed off when he saw a figure trailing behind Lan Xichen. His eyebrows furrowed, and a sense of unease washed over him. He recognized that person, it was none other than Meng Yao.
Why is he here now??
Lan Xichen approached the couple with his usual warm smile, unaware of the tension that build up inside Xiao Zhan. "My dearest Brother. Young Master Wei," he greeted them warmly. "It's been quite a while since we last saw each other."
"Brother." Lan Wangji nodded politely in acknowledgment of Lan Xichen's greeting. His eyes flickered briefly towards Meng Yao, a glimmer of caution shining in their depths.
Xiao Zhan managed to compose himself, forcing a smile onto his face as he replied, "Indeed, Zewu-jun."
"Oh, let me introduce you," Lan Xichen said, his voice filled with excitement as he gestured towards Meng Yao with a flourish. "This is Meng Yao. He saved my life in our last battle near Chongyang."
Saved his life?
Meng Yao inclined his head gracefully at Xiao Zhan, who could only nod back in response. "Nice to meet you, Meng Yao," he said, his tone polite but guarded. "Thank you for your assistance."
"The pleasure is mine, Young Master Wei," Meng Yao replied smoothly. "I must say, your reputation precedes you. I have heard much about your incredible powers and achievements. You are an inspiration." His gaze went to Lan Wangji before he added, "The both of you."
Xiao Zhan kept his face neutral, but internally he was gauging the older male cultivator. His behavior seemed genuine and honest. There seemed nothing suspicious about him so far. And yet Xiao Zhan knew that the man is not as innocent as his face appeared.
"What happened in Chongyang, Brother? Why didn't you send an alert if there's an emergency?" Lan Wangji asked, his voice laced with concern.
Lan Xichen's expression turned somber as memories of the ambush in Chongyang resurfaced. His gaze turned distant, as if he was reliving the harrowing events. Xiao Zhan could sense the heaviness in the air, the weight of a battle fought and lives lost.
"We were caught off guard," Lan Xichen admitted, a hint of regret in his voice. "I was unable to send an alert in the chaos of the battle. It all happened so quickly." He recounted how Meng Yao saved him by pushing him out of harm's way just as an enemy cultivator launched a fierce attack. The memory replayed in Lan Xichen's mind, the sound of clashing swords, the acrid scent of blood, and the desperate struggle to survive.
Xiao Zhan's heart ached as he listened to Lan Xichen's words. He understood the weight of regret that the older cultivator carried within him, the burden of lives lost and the responsibility he felt as the leader.
"I'm glad you made it out alive, Zewu-jun," Xiao Zhan said sincerely.
Lan Xichen nodded, his expression a mix of gratitude and sadness. "If it wasn't for Meng Yao's quick thinking and bravery, I might not have survived. He risked his own life to protect me."
Xiao Zhan's gaze shifted to Meng Yao, observing the man closely. The man was smiling pleasantly at Lan Xichen, saying, "It was only my duty to serve as a fellow cultivator, Zewu-jun." His tone sounded earnest.
Lan Wangji, who had been silently observing the exchange, spoke up, "You must have faced great danger yourself when you did that. We owe you a debt of gratitude."
Meng Yao's smiled, "I can't accept any thanks for saving another's life, Second Young Master Lan. I just happened to be in the area when it happened."
"Regardless, I am grateful that you saved my brother. For that, I thank you personally." Lan Wangji bowed lightly.
Meng Yao returned the gesture, "I am glad to help for my only wish is to see justice served to Wen Clan."
This complicates things even more than it already is. Should I tell Zewu-jun about Meng Yao? Will that upset him too much?
Xiao Zhan glanced at Meng Yao warily before his eyes flicked to Lan Xichen who looked rather warmly at Meng Yao. After a moment of deliberation, he decided that he would keep silent on the matter. For now at least.
Lan Xichen smiled again. "Well! Now that we're all acquainted, shall we go get something to eat? I am hungry." He said as he led the group to the tent where the food was served. "Did you cook today, Young Master Wei?" He asked, looking slightly hopeful.
Xiao Zhan chuckled slightly and shook his head, "Sorry. I got no time to cook, Zewu-jun." He said playfully. He then added, "But I can assure you that my Shijie's cooking is good too."
Lan Xichen raised a brow. "Oh, your Shijie is around?" He wondered out loud.
"Yes." Xiao Zhan said. Few days back, Jiang Yanli came to the base and started helping out. In the beginning, neither Xiao Zhan nor Jiang Fengmian and Jiang Cheng agreed, but Jiang Yanli insisted to provide the little help she could offer as well as staying close to her brothers during this time of war. After much deliberation, they deduced that it was actually pretty much safe there, which was why they eventually let her do what she wanted. "She's working in the kitchen."
Jiang Yanli saw Xiao Zhan and the others coming towards the dining area and welcomed them with a warm and wide smile.
"Shijie." Xiao Zhan greeted as Jiang Yanli pulled him into a hug. The others bowed politely towards the lady.
"A-Xian, you look a little pale ." She said worriedly as she took a look at Xiao Zhan's face. "Have you been getting enough sleep?"
"I rested enough and I'm fine, Shijie ." Xiao Zhan assured her.
"Good. Let's sit down and eat." Jiang Yanli ushered them all to their seats and began serving everyone.
"I have to say, this soup tastes really good, Maiden Jiang." Lan Xichen commented after he finished eating. His eyes sparkled slightly as he looked at Jiang Yanli. "Young Master Wei is right, you're a good cook. Thank you for the meal."
"Thank you, Zewu-jun. I'm glad you like it." Jiang Yanli answered, a pleased smile playing on her lips.
As usual, Lan Xichen friendliness knew no boundaries and soon, he was already in a lively conversation with Jiang Yanli, talking about the Yin and Yang couple mostly as if they were trading teasing materials.
Xiao Zhan watched them talk animatedly and could only sigh at the two who now acted like they have been best friend with each other for years.
These two really... They are unstoppable.
His eyes landed on Lan Wangji who was sitting quietly beside him, his brows knitted closely and his face were full of 'Brother, please shut up'. He couldn't help but chuckle a little when he saw that. Lan Xichen was lucky that he was the older sibling, because Lan Wangji really look like he wanted to cast the silence spell.
Meng Yao stayed silent throughout, watching the interaction, taking a sip from his cup of tea every now and then. The only shift of expression that he made was when he learned that the two younger men are in fact together.
The pair didn't mind it though. After all, they weren't really hiding anything. People knew them as the inseparable duo anyway.
The sound of someone clearing their throat interrupted the conversation. Jin Guangshan followed by Jin Zixuan approached their seats.
What does this old man want this time?
"Sect Leader Lan, I didn't know that you're already back to the base." Jin Guangshan said.
"Ah, yes. I just got back, Sect Leader Jin." Lan Xichen replied politely, smiling gently and exchanged some pleasantries with the senior cultivator.
"Yanli, I heard that you a helping here." Jin Guangshan said to Jiang Yanli.
Jiang Yanli gave a courteous salutation to the older male, her body instinctively bowing slightly in respect. "Yes, Sect Leader Jin. It is the least I can do."
"Zixuan, why don't you greet your fiancée properly." Jin Guangshan chided jovially.
Jin Zixuan simply nodded stiffly at Jiang Yanli, keeping his tone respectful, "Hello, Maiden Jiang."
Jiang Yanli gave a slight bow in response, "Hello, Young Master Jin." She averted her eyes as soon as she met Jin Zixuan's gaze, a slight blush spreading across her delicate features. It was her first time seeing her betrothed after being engaged, and her heart fluttered nervously in her chest. She wasn't sure how to act in front of him so she excused herself from the scene.
As she made her way away from the table, Jin Zixuan turned his attention to the duo and Lan Xichen, paying his respects to his former trainers. His brows furrowed slightly when he noticed the person sitting timidly next to Lan Xichen, trying to identify the new face.
Jin Guangshan frowned deeply when he finally realized Meng Yao's presence, narrowing his eyes at the latter, who merely lowered his head slightly to acknowledge Jin Guangshan's scrutiny.
Xiao Zhan watched the interaction curiously. This was an unprecedented meeting between a father and his illegitimate son witnessed by the legitimate heir.
This is interesting.
"Oh, this is Meng Yao." Lan Xichen introduced warmly.
Jin Guangshan tried to keep his expression neutral. He, of course recognized the illegitimate son of his that he had kicked down the stairs many years ago when he was younger. But he had to keep a good hold on his temper and hid his disdain for now.
"Pleasure to meet you, Sect Leader Jin." Meng Yao said, giving Jin Guangshan a polite bow in acknowledgement.
Jin Guangshan forced himself to smile cordially, though inwardly he cursed Meng Yao's boldness and audacity for appearing in front of him. "Likewise." He responded curtly. He cast a pointed look at Meng Yao, warning him with his eyes to refrain from speaking out of turn.
Meng Yao lowered his head submissively, not daring to defy him.
"How did you two met?" Jin Guangshan asked, still plastering his face with fake smile.
Lan Xichen told the account on his last battle before he ended it with, "I owed Meng Yao my life."
"Oh, really?" There was a glint of amusement in Jin Guangshan's eyes as he took in the words.
Hmm... I detect shrewdness from this sly old man. Is he planning on manipulating this matter somehow?

Xiao Zhan took a breather as he sat by the edge of the hilltop that overlooked the camp with Lan Wangji by his side as usual. He could feel the weight of responsibility settled heavily on his shoulders as he surveyed the landscape below, his eyes scanning over the fields and mountains that stretched as far as the eye could see. It was a world teeming with life and energy, a tapestry of vibrant colors and swirling spiritual essences. The population of this world was staggering, with over a billion people, and ten percent of them were cultivators. Wen Sect made up over half of the numbers of cultivators inhabiting this world. The casualties had been unavoidable during the skirmishes between Wen Sect's cultivators and the Sunshot Alliance and the death toll on their side was rising. Xiao Zhan couldn't bear to see it increase any further.
There are no suspicious activities around the perimeter so far.
He thought after reviewing the visual provided by his owls, feeling slightly relieved. He sighed and glanced at Lan Wangji whose golden eyes trained at him in expectation.
"What is it?" Lan Wangji asked softly.
Xiao Zhan leaned his back against Lan Wangji's chest. Lan Wangji wrapped an arm around him as well and kissed him on the top of his head.
"What should we do with Meng Yao?" Xiao Zhan asked, tilting his head back to look up at Lan Wangji. "I mean, he has yet to do bad things and it's not like we can judge him for things he hasn't done. Yet. But he still has the potential to be troublesome later." He paused, "Your brother seems to like him."
Lan Wangji hummed thoughtfully, "As long as he doesn't try anything funny, we can deal with him."
Xiao Zhan looked at him with a questioning look in his eye, "But we aren't sure about his intentions. Do you think we should let go of him?"
Lan Wangji kissed his temple and responded, "It's up to you whether or not you want to let him go. However, if he tries to hurt you, I will take care of him myself."
Xiao Zhan smiled softly. "Okay." He replied before shifting his focus onto Lan Wangji's handsome face.
"Also, Jin Guangshan looks like he might use him as a pawn soon." Xiao Zhan added, playing his lover's hair.
"Do you want me to dispose of him?" Lan Wangji asked bluntly.
"Woah, hold your horses, Lan Zhan." Xiao Zhan replied, trying his best to suppress laughter at his lover's straightforwardness. Although deep down, he knew that Lan Wangji might do it if he said yes. He didn't want to sully his lover's hand with more blood. He shook his head, "We don't need to resort to that for now. We'll deal with this when he acts up."
"Mn." Lan Wangji agreed easily.
"Another thing." Xiao Zhan continued after a few moments, "Your brother has a big mouth."
"Same goes to your Shijie." Lan Wangji retorted plainly.
Xiao Zhan laughed heartily, "Fair point." He noted. He then looked at his beloved's through his eyelashes, his tone serious, "Right now, I need you to take care of the more important thing."
Lan Wangji tilted his head. "Hm?"
"Kiss me. I need a recharge." Xiao Zhan said teasingly, his eyes sparkled like stars in the milky way.
"It is indeed important." Lan Wangji said, and bent down slowly to capture the tempting lips of the person he loved with all his heart.
In few hours they would depart for war front again and Xiao Zhan was not going to waste the chance to have a brief cuddle moment with his lover. Another long day would come and he couldn't wait until they get to rest and forget their worries.

Two weeks had passed since the battle with Wen Ruohan had begun. That being said, even when the Sunshot alliance managed to destroy all smaller divisions that belongs to Wen Ruohan, there remained a significant amount of the powerful cultivators that remain, many of which possessed formidable strength.
Xiao Zhan closed his eyes, feeling the energy flow back into his body. He could feel the familiar warmth spreading through his veins, igniting a fire within him. With a deep breath, he opened his eyes, feeling invigorated and brand new.
Lan Wangji 's golden eyes flicked across Xiao Zhan's form. "Your cultivation base has grown stronger," he commented.
"I feel stronger." Xiao Zhan agreed.
"Well, you indeed are but still, please be careful." Wen Qing chimed in, finally lifting the last needle from the Xiao Zhan's solar plexus. The young man gasped slightly, the sensation still fresh. She reminded, "The last time I helped heal you, your core almost exploded."
"But you know that wasn't my fault, Qing-jie." Xiao Zhan protested like a petulant child.
"Don't argue," Wen Qing huffed, giving him a playful hit on his shoulder. "Just remember to control your energy. Both of your energies. Keep them in balance. I don't want to seal your core for the third time."
Xiao Zhan nodded solemnly. "Of course." He said, trying not to sound petulant. It would not do well to lose control while on battle ground. He might even injure someone if he couldn't reign himself in.
"I will attend to the other wounded ones now, so please, do remember my advices." Wen Qing cautioned before she got up and left.
As Xiao Zhan put on his top back on, Lan Wangji came from behind him, wrapping a protective arm around his waist.
"Hey..." Xiao Zhan complained lightly, "We're in public space."
Lan Wangji responded by pulling Xiao Zhan closer, his chin resting on his shoulder. "Let me hold you for a second longer."
Xiao Zhan let out a huff of laughter, but didn't deny the gesture. He leaned into the embrace, closing his eyes in contentment. This moment felt perfect; like they were meant to be this way.
"Ahem." Wen Ning coughed awkwardly, causing the pair to separate from each other. "Sorry to intrude... I... I am just getting something here." He said, averting his eyes to the medication shelves.
Xiao Zhan quickly dressed himself up properly and addressed Wen Ning, "How are you doing, Wen Ning?"
"I... I have been doing good so far, Wei-xiong." Wen Ning answered meekly. He gave Lan Wangji a quick side glance, who was currently staring at him impassively as always.
"Good, very good." Xiao Zhan nodded. Wen Ning had been helping in guarding Qinghe Nie headquarters, while Wen Qing took the responsibility of the head healer, leading the medic tents that were set up in Qinghe Nie territory. Most severely wounded cases were sent to her care and she was extremely dedicated to her job.
"How is everyone's treating you here?" Xiao Zhan inquired.
Wen Ning smiled at him, his eyes lit up, "They're really kind and they treat us well."
"That's good too hear." Xiao Zhan felt relieved. He was slightly concerned that there would be some who was unhappy with the Wen defectors but it seemed like he had nothing to be worried about.
Lan Wangji listened to the two had a brief small talk while helping Xiao Zhan out with his outfits. "You're done." He announced once he was satisfied with Xiao Zhan's attire.
Wen Ning blushed furiously as he watched the two acted like they were the only people in the world, smiling at each other lovingly.
"We should make our move. It's getting late." Lan Wangji suggested, holding Xiao Zhan by the hand.
"Alright, alright. Let's go." Xiao Zhan replied. He turned to Wen Ning, patting his shoulder as he said, "Keep up the good work. We'll see each other soon." Then he and Lan Wangji left.
"Ah, I missed this feeling." Xiao Zhan sighed happily, drawing his sword from its sheath in one fluid motion as he held it aloft in the air. Suibian vibrated in his hand as if it as greeting him back. The bright blade reflected sunlight in flashes of blinding rays as the sword glowed. A surge of adrenaline surged through his veins as he swung Suibian through the air in a graceful arc, twirling in circles gracefully before bringing the blade down in one smooth slash that split through the air before cutting cleanly down towards a tree standing directly in its path.
He lowered his weapon with a satisfied grin as the trunk crumpled under the impact of his blow, collapsing into a mass of wood fragments that scattered across the ground. Now that the seal on his Dantian was lifted, he could finally be at his potential. It was time to wield his power, to unleash the full extent of his abilities.
"Together?" Xiao Zhan said, his gaze falling on his beautiful partner beside him.
Lan Wangji nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Together."
And together, they rode their swords back to the camp.
They stopped at the highest peak of where the base were situated and stood at the edge of a cliff, overlooking the vast expanse of the world of cultivation that sprawled out before him. The wind rustled through their hair, carrying with it the scent of earth. The sound of swords clashing and flashes of red and purple lights in his peripheral vision drew his attention. He sent in his owls to see Jiang Cheng was engaging with two other enemies nearby who seemed to be skilled fighters.
Andwith that, they leaped into action, their bodies moving in perfect synchrony asthey descended, their figures becoming a blur of speed. Xiao Zhan's gaze narrowed slightly before he shot forward toward him. He brought his arms up swiftly and formed a barrier of dark energy around him, deflecting a spell aimed for Jiang Cheng's chest. He landed lightly on his feet. He took a couple of steps back until he had distance between himself and the enemies, then he attacked. His attacks were rapid and powerful, weaving in and out of their attacks with ease and Lan Wangji moved with him in harmony, never allowing one person to get past their defense as they struck out simultaneously. Their opponents soon fell to the ground in succession.
Jiang Cheng's gaze flickered in surprise as the duo appeared out of nowhere before him. "You're late," He said tersely, his gaze fixed on Xiao Zhan. A trickle of blood escaped the corner of his mouth, but he remained unfazed as his eyes flickered dangerously, "They have strong defenses and even beasts under their commands."
A cold gleam entered Xiao Zhan's eyes as he turned toward the enemy army who was heavily armored and wielded heavy weapons. Among the horde, there were Dire Wolves under the enemy's control. Their fur coat bristled menacingly and their sharp fangs dripped with blood as the wolves bore down upon his companions in the front lines.
One of those beasts lunged at one of Xiao Zhan's allies.
Xiao Zhan raised his hand and the black tendril of resentful energy shot forward and formed a spike as it pierced through the throat of the approaching beast, slicing into flesh as easily as butter, splattering black blood everywhere.
"Fall back, Jiang Cheng. We'll take it from here," Xiao Zhan commanded quietly.
Jiang Cheng shook his head stubbornly, "You can't be serious! Let's call for reinforcement."
"You mean... this?" Xiao Zhan said before he played a short but sharp note with his flute, raising his undead army in a large semicircle before their line of sight. His eyes blazed brightly, the demonic energy revolved around him, making him seem like a specter that emerged from hell itself. A fierce wind howled past them, pushing their hair and clothing to the sides. In an instant, fierce corpse in all their ghastliness and brutality rushed forward and clashed against the opposing army. One after another his opponents were sent flying through the sky, a trail of broken bones and blood following their demise before landing unceremoniously into the dirt below.
It was the first for Jiang Cheng to actually witness Xiao Zhan unleashing his demonic powers. He felt a pang of shock run through his body as he realized the terrifying power contained within those bloody red eyes of Xiao Zhan.
"Jian Wanyin, it's better for your team to retreat to the rear. We'll handle this now." Lan Wangji stated calmly, watching the battle between the humans, the beasts and the undead with rapt attention. He did not want anyone to get swept up in storm that Xiao Zhan would bring.
Jiang Cheng opened his mouth to protest, only to stop and sigh in resignation instead as he nodded at the duo, "Alright, fine. Just be careful."
"Everyone fall back!" Jiang Cheng's yell reverberated through the field before he turned away and dashed off into the distance quickly to lead his team away from the battlefield. Behind them, the ground began to shake violently, shaking loose pebbles from the ground and sending dust into the air.
Lan Wangji landed beside Xiao Zhan, completing their Yin and Yang formation. The duo advanced at a swift pace, heading deeper into the center of the fight that raged ahead. Their foes fell one after another, their bodies hitting the ground with a sickening thud.
"Wow! Didi is really... scary." Nie Huaisang said as he watched the spectacle from a distance, awed by Xiao Zhan's display of skills.
"He's insane, so I don't doubt it." Jiang Cheng commented dryly. "No, the two of them are equally insane." He corrected after giving the matter some consideration.
Jin Zixuan gaped at the scene before his eyes in disbelief. He knew that the couple were strong but the raw power unleashed by the pair was frightening enough to send chills down one's spine.
By sundown, the battle was over. The invading army retreated in defeat. The entire place reeked with the stench of blood and the smell of smoke filled the air. Blood coated the ground where thousands of corpses lay scattered everywhere and even the ground beneath them had turned a sickening shade of red.
"Wei Ying, let's head back now" Lan Wangji said, helping him wipe a trickle of blood that splattered earlier off his face.
Xiao Zhan stared vacantly at the dead body that lay lifelessly in front of him, his expression a mix of emotions ranging from anger to sadness. He drew a heavy breath before he followed Lan Wangji out of the battlefield.
These cannot go on. We need to end this once and for all. This will not continue. It will come to a close.

"We shall begin the siege now," Sect Leader Nie declared once everyone assembled the next day.
The sun blared bright overhead, casting its blinding light onto the field of green grass. All the sects gathered in a massive group, a sea of determined faces, as they marched onward toward the direction of Nightless City.
"Let us march!" Sect Leader Nie called out.
Every sect leader led an army that consisted of their own forces. They all carried swords, sabers, and all kinds of weapons in their hands, holding them tight as they readied themselves of what would commence at the end of the day. The heavy artillery and siege weaponry were pushed forward as they trudged across the ground, each step causing great ripples to form throughout the earth, spreading out like waves upon the ocean.
This would be the endgame, the final battle that would determine the fate of their world. Nothing could go wrong.
The couple took the lead ahead the others and made their way through the forested terrain. The trees and branches swayed gently in the breeze, casting a soothing, almost ethereal ambiance. Birds chirped their melodious tunes as they danced along the branches, while squirrels scampered through the leaves overhead, making their mischievous presence known. It was a picturesque scene, a moment of tranquillity before the storm. Their surroundings, so serene and untouched, were a stark contrast to what was about to occur. A sense of foreboding hung heavy in the air, an invisible tension that seemed to thicken with every step they took. They could feel the weight of the impending battle, the lives that would be lost, and the sacrifices that would be made.
Nightless City stood tall and proud, its grandeur shining brightly with the light of countless lanterns as the sun slowly set behind the majestic mountain range to the west. The city's imposing walls, built with black stones, loomed over the masses of people gathered below the hill, casting a long shadow that seemed to reach out and smother the hope in their hearts.
Wen Ruohan, stood atop the walls, his presence exuding a malevolent aura. His eyes, filled with fury and disdain, scanned the crowds below, looking down on them like mere ants to be crushed under his heel.
"Kill those rebel dogs!" he ordered harshly, his voice echoing across the field.
A chorus of resounding shouts erupted from the crowd. Swords unsheathed in readiness, their cold steel glinting ominously under the dying light of the sun. Voices roared across the field in unison, urging the men to slaughter their enemies.
Xiao Zhan placed Chenqing against his lips, calling for the dead around the area to rise once more. Even those hidden deep in the grounds started crawling out. Xiao Zhan had one objective in mind as he summoned those resentful spirits that lingered around the torture chamber that belonged to Wen Ruohan. He needed those souls to break the strong defensive barriers that surrounded the city in layers.
Wen Ruohan was utterly taken aback as fierce corpses rushed out of the dark recesses of his compound, charging straight at the circular arrays that make up their defensive systems. The spirits' eyes flashed red as they lunged at the array, surging forth violently and pushing back the protective force field. A loud explosion rang out as the array shattered and collapsed with an ear-splitting bang. "What kind of sorcery is this?!" The tyrant bellowed in rage, caught off guard with the unusual attack.
With the fortress now lay bare, Nie Huaisang masterminded multiple battle formations from behind the scene. His strategic genius came to life as the battlefield erupted in a symphony of coordinated attacks. The artillerymen positioned themselves strategically around the perimeter of the city, their aim carefully calibrated and they fired at commands. The signal sounded, the drums beat out a steady rhythm and the cannons roared, their deafening blasts shaking the very foundation of Nightless City. A wall of fire erupted in front of the armies as it enveloped their targets. The archers were placed around the area, blended in with surroundings like they were snipers, shot their arrows with deadly accuracy, piercing through armor and finding their mark with lethal precision. No mercy or hesitation, not even for a second to think. Blood splattered the ground, turning the once pristine ground into a canvas of crimson.
As the first rays of twilight bathed the battlefield, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, the opposing forces clashed. The thunderous sound of metal meeting metal filled the air, accompanied by the cries of warriors locked in a deadly dance.
But Wen Ruohan was not one to be trifled with. With a swift motion of his hand, bodies were sent hurtling through the air, their screams echoing in the midst of the chaos. As he stepped forward, his wrath was eminent by the aura surrounding him and the air crackled with the intensity. Witha swift motion of his hand, an overwhelming surge of spiritual energy emanated from him burst forth, blasting towards the incoming assailants and sending countless flying across the sky like cannonballs. He unleashed a barrage of energy projectiles, each one finding its mark with deadly precision. Explosions erupted around him, showering the battlefield with debris. The ground shook beneath him, the shockwave reverberating through the air, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
As the smoke cleared, Wen Ruohan stood still and his power radiating from every pore. "Filthy bastards!" He spat in annoyance.
"You'll pay for that." Xiao Zhan's voice entered his ears suddenly.
What he didn't expect to see was the piercing scarlet red pair of eyes, staring directly at his own.
