"Yah! Wang Yibo! Come back here!" Xiao Zhan chased after the drunken man in the dead of the night. "Ugh! Seriously!"
Wang Yibo ignored Xiao Zhan's desperate calls, jumping from one roof to another like a ninja on a mission. He was about to leap to another building when he heard, "Lan Zhan!"
At that, Wang Yibo stopped and turned around, just in time to see Xiao Zhan catch up with him. Xiao Zhan's pale, elegant figure looked even more beautiful against the dark sky as the moon illuminated his features in an ethereal glow. Wang Yibo could feel the warm breath of their shared space against his lips as he gazed at Xiao Zhan's mouth. "Wei Ying..." he whispered. They were so close now that all he had to do was lean forward and he could touch those soft, pink lips with his own...
"Okay! Let's head back to the inn. It's late," Xiao Zhan urged, pulling him along by the wrist.
Wang Yibo blinked dreamily, allowing himself to be dragged along by Xiao Zhan until he noticed something that caught his eye.
"Oh! Come on!" Xiao Zhan exclaimed loudly as Wang Yibo yanked him forward in another direction.
Wang Yibo pretended not to hear anything as he continued to pull Xiao Zhan along with him in his iron grip. It was then that they came upon a tree, in front of which Wang Yibo finally stopped and released Xiao Zhan's hand. He then effortlessly leapt onto a branch.
"Hey! Come down! You'll fall!" Xiao Zhan yelled from below as Wang Yibo jumped to another higher branch, the leaves rustling under his feet. "Don't make me come up there! I'm telling you-" His words were cut short when Wang Yibo emerged, jumping down to land beside him gracefully.
"For Wei Ying, " Wang Yibo said softly, handing him a couple of branches full of jujube fruits.
Xiao Zhan blinked a couple of times. "Huh?"
"For you. All for you." Wang Yibo repeated, placing the fruits neatly into his hands.
"...Thank you," Xiao Zhan said hesitantly, looking at the fruits, feeling the scene somewhat familiar in his mind. "Yiboâ"
But before he could process anything, Wang Yibo made his move again, this time dashing toward someone's house.
"Yah! Wang Yibo! What are you doing?!" Xiao Zhan called frantically after him. "For god's sake! Stop!"
But Wang Yibo paid no heed to him and already stooped in front of a chicken coop, trying to fish some of the confused chickens out.
"No! No! Not the chickens! Wang Yibo!" Xiao Zhan panicked, trying his best not to yell at the alcohol-addled Wang Yibo, not wanting to wake the occupants of the house they were currently trespassing on (although he suspected they probably had woken up from the loud clucking of the birds but were too scared to come out to see what was happening in their front yard). "This is stealing! Put the chickens back where they belong!" He attempted to pull Wang Yibo away from where he was crouching. "Lan Zhan ah! Please put the innocent chickens down-"
Before Xiao Zhan could finish, Wang Yibo managed to grab hold of a couple of the chickens by their necks and presented them to Xiao Zhan. "For Wei Ying," he said plainly, ignoring how the two unfortunate birds flapped their wings violently in distress.
Xiao Zhan stared incredulously at the chickens. "They're not yours to give," he stated bluntly.
"Not good enough?" Wang Yibo asked with a slight pout. He looked very sad now, his eyes downcast and eyebrows furrowed. "I'm not good enough," he mumbled pitifully.
For fuck's sake! You and your puppy eyes are going to be the death of me!
"Good! They're good! And fat! Very fat!" Xiao Zhan said hastily, taking the chickens immediately to appease the sulking Hanguang-jun. He would just leave money for the owner of the chickens (five times more than it's worth) in exchange for them.
Wang Yibo smiled at the instance; relief was apparent in his expression. "Good."
"Okay, cool! Now, come on! Let's head back to the inn." Xiao Zhan urged with pleading eyes.
"Mn." Wang Yibo agreed easily, getting up while swaying slightly.
Xiao Zhan had his hands full with his 'gifts' and struggled to keep up with Wang Yibo. "You're going the wrong way! Don't walk around in circles! Follow me!" he said in frustration.
The drunkard merely nodded in response and followed Xiao Zhan obediently. When they finally arrived at the inn, Xiao Zhan had to trouble the innkeeper to take care of the chickens (which Wang Yibo protested unhappily about for a minute). The innkeeper was more than happy to handle the birds since Xiao Zhan was very generous with his tips.
As soon as they entered the room, Xiao Zhan immediately set the branches of fruit down on the table, scrutinizing how disheveled the honorable Lan Wangji currently looked. He shook his head disapprovingly. "You need a bath."
Wang Yibo was still staring at him (or his lips) intently. The only response he received from the man was a noncommittal grunt.
Xiao Zhan sighed tiredly. "I'll draw a hot bath for you. Stay here," he instructed before heading toward the door again. "And please, stay still. Don't move," he added, giving Wang Yibo one last glance to ensure he would do as told.
Wang Yibo didn't move at all, not even an inch. He simply sat there, trying not to sway in his seat while Xiao Zhan prepared the tub for him.
A few buckets of hot water later, the tub was ready.
"Yibo, come here." Xiao Zhan beckoned from where he was standing next to the folding screen.
Wang Yibo didn't respond and stayed still like a statue.
"Come on, Yibo. You need to shower!" Xiao Zhan called again, sounding a little exasperated.
Still no response.
"Are you pretending you can't hear me?" Xiao Zhan was getting slightly irked now. "Lan Zhan! Please! Come here and wash up!" he urged firmly.
Wang Yibo turned to look at him with the charm of a golden retriever puppy, blinking innocently.
"Oh, for heaven's sake!" With a sigh, Xiao Zhan walked over to Wang Yibo and dragged him by the wrist toward the bathtub. "Strip. Your clothes are covered in dirt," Xiao Zhan ordered.
Wang Yibo stared at him blankly before slowly complying, shedding his robes until he stood in nothing.
Xiao Zhan averted his gaze and quickly turned around. "Get in the tub," he instructed, gesturing wildly toward it.
Wang Yibo complied silently before climbing into the steaming bathtub, sinking into the warm water. He then submerged himself until only the top part of his head stuck out of the water, blowing bubbles like a child while watching Xiao Zhan with his puppy eyes.
Xiao Zhan was speechless for a while before he burst into laughter. "Why are you acting so cute today?" he managed between his laughs.
Wang Yibo moved closer to the edge of the tub, hanging his hands on it as he took in how beautiful his Wei Ying was with candlelight reflecting on his bright features and how wonderful the man's laughter sounded. "Wei Ying," he mumbled under his breath.
Xiao Zhan's amused chuckles had yet to die down when he went over to give Wang Yibo a pat on the head. "Just look at how adorable you are. Are you three years old?" he teased, removing a feather that was stuck in the long hair.
Wang Yibo simply stared at him, unblinking, with his wide eyes and bushy eyebrows. His cheeks were flushed from the heat of the warm water.
Goodness gracious, this puppy is too cute for my heart.
"Okay, you need to wash up now. I'll wait for you outside," Xiao Zhan said and stepped away from the bathtub. Before he could go far, he heard Wang Yibo getting out abruptly.
"Hey! What are you doing? Get back in!" Xiao Zhan exclaimed, turning only to see Wang Yibo had already climbed out of the tub.
"Not bathing anymore," Wang Yibo answered, standing straight in his naked glory.
Xiao Zhan raised both of his eyebrows in disbelief. "Seriously? You need to! You have dirt all over you!"
"No," Wang Yibo stubbornly insisted.
This stubborn drunk puppy!
Xiao Zhan huffed out a frustrated laugh. "Lan Er Gege... Do you want my help washing yourself?" he asked, pinching the bridge of his nose.
Wang Yibo stared at him for a moment before nodding with his deer-like eyes.
"..." Xiao Zhan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. When he realized that there was no point in arguing with a drunk man, he resigned himself to his fate. "Alright, get back in. I'll help you," he compromised, making his way back to the bathtub, urging Wang Yibo to get back in. He then took off his outer robe and placed it on top of the folding screen before settling himself by the tub, scooping some water to pour over Wang Yibo's head. "Close your eyes," Xiao Zhan softly instructed.
Wang Yibo followed his instruction, a small smile creeping up on his face when he felt the warmth and soothing sensation against his skin.
"You really are a big baby, aren't you?" Xiao Zhan muttered with a shake of his head as he grabbed the washcloth, his touch firm yet tender as he started to wash away the grime and dirt from Wang Yibo's skin. The room was soon filled with the sound of water splashing gently, mingled with the scent of soap and the steam rising from the hot bath.
A peaceful atmosphere fell upon them when Xiao Zhan started to scrub Wang Yibo's hair and scalp, massaging gently with his fingers as he worked.
Wang Yibo closed his eyes contentedly as he leaned into Xiao Zhan's touch, obviously enjoying his time being pampered.
Xiao Zhan couldn't help but smile at how relaxed the man looked as well. It was too adorable of a sight. "You're lucky that you're cute."
"Mn." A hum came from Wang Yibo's throat as an acknowledgment of the statement causing Xiao Zhan to giggle again.
"Done!" Xiao Zhan announced a while later after giving Wang Yibo a final rinse.
Wang Yibo opened his eyes and saw that Xiao Zhan was already preparing to get up. He grabbed hold of Xiao Zhan's arm and held it firmly. "You need to wash up too."
Xiao Zhan shook his head. "I can shower after this. Let's settle you first." He said, tugging at his hand to free it.
Wang Yibo's eyebrows furrowed together. He pulled Xiao Zhan with a little force, causing the latter to fall into the bathtub and land beneath him. Water splashed all over the floor, wetting the surface.
"What are you doing?! Let me go!" Xiao Zhan complained loudly.
"Wash up," Wang Yibo declared stubbornly.
Xiao Zhan tried to break free from Wang Yibo's grasp, but the latter refused to release him. "Let me go!"
"No," Wang Yibo replied as he resolutely tightened his grip on Xiao Zhan.
Xiao Zhan huffed in annoyance. "Are you crazy? Let me go this instant!"
"No." Wang Yibo insisted petulantly, "I'll never let go."
Xiao Zhan made one last attempt to escape before giving up. He knew the only way he could escape from this stubborn man was to use brute force. He sighed deeply. "Please. I don't want to hurt you. Justâmmmph!" His words ended as he felt a pair of lips against his. His eyes widened slightly, shocked at the sudden action. He then registered what was happening a second too late.
Wang Yibo pressed Xiao Zhan tightly against him, deepening their kiss.
Xiao Zhan froze, unable to even think straight. His arms were trapped in Wang Yibo's embrace, and their current position only spurred the desire within him. His eyes fluttered shut involuntarily as he let the other kiss him.
"Wei Ying..." Wang Yibo murmured against Xiao Zhan's mouth. "I miss you."
Miss...? Which Wei Ying?
It was at that moment when Xiao Zhan finally regained his senses, breaking their kiss with a gasp. "Stop," he said, pushing Wang Yibo away from him.
Wang Yibo frowned, looking confused and lost. "Wei Ying?" he asked, seeming genuinely puzzled. "Why?"
"Just..." Xiao Zhan sighed heavily. "Never mind. You're drunk. You don't know what you're doing," he concluded. He took advantage of Wang Yibo's slackened grip and got out of the tub swiftly. He handed a towel to Wang Yibo. "Dry yourself off. It's time for bed."
Wang Yibo took the towel in a daze, wrapping it around himself as he got out of the tub.
"Put these on." Xiao Zhan ordered, giving the man a fresh set of inner garments. He cast a drying spell to help Wang Yibo dry his hair at the same time.
Wang Yibo was thankfully obedient this time around. He just nodded quietly, accepting the clothing and getting dressed. He didn't utter a word when Xiao Zhan dragged him to bed and tucked him under the covers.
"Sleep," Xiao Zhan said, ignoring the downcast look on the other's face.
Wang Yibo closed his eyes compliantly and drifted off to sleep without complaint.
Xiao Zhan then got out of the room to fetch more water for himself and went ahead to shed his wet attires behind the folding screen, washing himself quickly before changing into dry clothes. Once he was done, he took a quick look at Wang Yibo, making sure that the man is fast asleep before slipping out of the door quietly. He sat on the rooftop, looking at the stars overhead, sighing deeply as if to release all the pent-up emotion inside of him.
"Ahh..." Xiao Zhan exhaled. He lowered his head and rested his chin on his folded knees, feeling exhausted. "Will things ever return to how they were?" Xiao Zhan mumbled wearily to himself, thinking about Lan Wangji and Wang Yibo simultaneously. He then shook off the confusing thoughts he was having and pulled himself together. "I won't find an answer if I don't look for it."
Under the glow of bright moonlight (and an illumination talisman), he made himself busy, scribbling down his theories on how to fix the glitch in the universe. "If only there is someone I can find to ask about this phenomenon...." he lamented, staring thoughtfully up at the night sky. Then he suddenly paused.
Someone who lives for hundreds of years should have some sort of answer, right? And there is a celestial in this world. Baoshan Sanren. Yes! I should look for her after this!
Xiao Zhan decided as he snapped the book shut.
But where should I go to find her?
*****
"Wang Jie*, you should eat more. You look a little thinner than the last time that I saw you." His mother said, placing another strip of braised chicken into Lan Wangji's bowl.
Lan Wangji looked at her with a faint smile etched on his lips, "Mn." He hummed quietly. Mother.
"I agree with your mom. Work is work but you need to take care of yourself more, son." His father said, placing another dish into his already full bowl.
Lan Wangji nodded before eating the dish with his heart feeling full. Father.
It took him a while to fully calm down in the presence of his reincarnated parents earlier. Meeting them felt like a blessing in disguise even though none of them know that he is their son from another timeline. The timeline where both of them had passed. And now, he had been given a chance to see them once more and experience the warmth of loving parents. His mother is just how he remembered her when he was still a child. She is affectionate and tender, with the same carefree soft laughs. His father, too, seems to retain the same mannerisms and personality as the former Sect Leader of Gusu Lan. Seeing the two of them together like this, was a sight that he could never see. He could hardly believe that he was dining with them at the present, but he was beyond grateful to have this opportunity.
Just when they sat down in the living room after the meal, the doorbell rang.
"Oh, that must be Xiao Zhan!" His mother said gleefully, getting up to open the door before Lan Wangji could.
"Auntie!" Wei Wuxian's voice came a second after the door was opened.
"Zhanzhan!"
Lan Wangji heard her say happily, and soon he was hearing their voices overlapping as they walked in together, arms linked.
"Hello, Uncle!" Wei Wuxian said, waving at the older man who smiled fondly at him. "You look good as always!" Wei Wuxian chirped.
"Likewise!" The elder man answered with a chuckle.
Lan Wangji couldn't help but feel warmth at their interaction. It was hard not to think about the fact that he was sitting right there, with both his parents and Wei Ying. It was a sight he thought he would never get to see.
Wei Wuxian smiled at him, "Hey!" His eyes were bright as he took a seat beside Lan Wangji. "Do you like your surprise?"
Lan Wangji glanced at him before nodding, "Mn."
Wei Wuxian grinned at him, his eyes practically sparkling.
"Well, this boy cried a river, making us panicked for a while." His mother told Wei Wuxian.
"You did?" Wei Wuxian asked, widening his eyes as he stared at Lan Wangji.
His mother nodded, "It was so cute though." She giggled lightly, reaching over to ruffle Lan Wangji's hair fondly. "You're too adorable for words, son," she said.
"Ma." Lan Wangji said a little awkwardly. "Don't tease."
"Okay, okay." Mother laughed softly, before standing back up. "Zhanzhan, have you had your dinner?" She asked Wei Wuxian.
"Yes, I just had it before coming here, Auntie."Â Wei Wuxian said.
Lan Wangji sat quietly as Wei Wuxian continued to chat with his parents about everything and nothing. Occasionally, Wei Ying would reach over and give a pat on his arm or knee out of habit. But it was very subtle and if one wasn't paying attention, they wouldn't notice. Lan Wangji noticed but he didn't mind it much.
At the end of the night, his parents excused themselves to retire to bed early. It was late enough for them to be asleep by the time Wei Wuxian finished his story about something that happened that day.
"Lan Zhan, I heard a very interesting story today. I hope that you'll tell me what it was about?" Wei Wuxian asked him once they were behind the closed door of the bedroom. "Did you actually use your skill while filming a commercial?"
Lan Wangji paused, unsure of how to put this into words. In his defense, it was an instinctive reaction to the situation. It was completely unintentional. He didn't even plan it out until it was happening. All he did was a simple stunt he was required to do, but the wires were restricting his movements too much. So, after several takes, he asked to try doing it without one. And it was as easy as breathing to him when he leaped from one pole to another and another, not bothering to think about the distance or height deemed acceptable in a mere mortal's eyes. It was all muscle memory. No thoughts. Just instinct. "A little bit." He admitted.
Wei Wuxian blinked slowly as he processed everything. Then, he burst into laughter and started to shake uncontrollably. When he got control of himself again, he gave Lan Wangji a wide grin, "You are unbelievable. You know, the director is now convinced that you're a natural-born stuntman!" He exclaimed.
Lan Wangji tilted his head slightly, "Is it a bad thing?"Â He asked cautiously.
Wei Wuxian snorted and shook his head, "I guess it's not. You might end up with lots of love calls for action-based movies or dramas soon, though." He commented.
"I doubt that." Lan Wangji murmured.
"Ah, right. You may not be here for long." Wei Wuxian realized, "Anyway since I have fully recovered now, I am thinking of trying Empathy tonight. If you don't mind."
"Will you be okay?" Lan Wangji said, almost instantly worried.
"Well, if we never try, we'll never know." Wei Wuxian shrugged lightly. "I have an idea to lessen the rebound. But I need to test it out first."
"What is it?" Lan Wangji inquired curiously.
"Well, I need you to fill me up with your spiritual energy." Wei Wuxian stated bluntly.
"Fill you up?" Lan Wangji repeated, baffled.
"I mean, share your spiritual energy with me before we begin with Empathy. Perhaps by prepping with your spiritual energy in my meridians, the backlash will not be too severe." Wei Wuxian reasoned. "Of course, it's hypothetical. Hence, the only way to find out if the hypothesis is correct would be to experiment." He added.
"Alright." Lan Wangji agreed after pondering for a minute.
Wei Wuxian did not forget to put a blocking and soundproofing talisman on the door before they both took a seat, cross-legged on the bed with Lan Wangji behind Wei Wuxian.
"Wait." Wei Wuxian said suddenly, raising a hand to halt Lan Wangji from placing his palms on his back. He then swiftly took off his shirt, causing Lan Wangji to fluster slightly and turn away. "Skin-to-skin contact will enhance our connection." He explained. He turned back to see Lan Wangji staring at the wall, clearly embarrassed. He chuckled softly. "Relax. You've seen 'me' without clothes many times. Why are you so shy now?"
Lan Wangji flushed further, "That's different." He muttered quietly.
Wei Wuxian chuckled. "Okay. Okay. I'll stop teasing you. Let's do this."
Lan Wangji nodded and placed his palms on Wei Wuxian's bare back, closing his eyes. He concentrated his spiritual energy on the soles of his hand and pushed them into Wei Wuxian. Soon, a soft, blue light emanated from his hands and slowly enveloped Wei Wuxian in its glow as Lan Wangji carefully guided his spiritual energy towards the other's meridian points, making sure to fill each pathway sufficiently. It still felt strange to not be able to feel Wei Ying's golden core through this process and he couldn't help but feel grief at the loss. He couldn't imagine how painful it was for Wei Ying to lose his cultivation and how much the man had suffered in his past lifetime. The thought alone brought pain to his heart. But now is not the time for this sorrow, he reminded himself firmly.
It took him a while to fill every pathway completely, but finally, he let his hands fall from Wei Wuxian's back.
Wei Wuxian remained silent for a moment, seeming to catch his breath, before turning around. He was surprised to see some tears running down Lan Wangji's face.
"Lan Zhan?" Wei Wuxian called out tentatively, reaching out to wipe away a tear.
"Sorry." Lan Wangji mumbled, quickly wiping the remaining tears on his cheek. He tried to ignore the feeling of longing that came when he saw Wei Wuxian's concern.
"Are you alright?" Wei Wuxian asked worriedly.
"Mn." Lan Wangji nodded. He turned away, "Let's start with Empathy." He said, changing the subject.
Wei Wuxian frowned for a few moments but eventually nodded. "Okay. Let's start." He took a deep breath and placed his hands on top of Lan Wangji's after they both lay down side by side. "Close your eyes." He ordered, watching as Lan Wangji did as he was told without question.
Once they both shut their eyes tight, Wei Wuxian exhaled slowly, chanting under his breath softly as he began to establish their mind connection carefully. His hypothesis seemed to be correct, but the backlash was significantly reduced. But it doesn't mean that it has disappeared entirely. He was trembling slightly and sweating profusely as he tried to maintain the link in mind. He could stand the pain, he had to endure it for as long as he could. He was so close to success. However, it became increasingly harder to keep the connection stable. The intense nausea that was assaulting his senses, was unbearable. He tried desperately to remain focused on his task at hand, but it was becoming extremely difficult. Eventually, he had to pull out of the session. His breathing was heavy and ragged as he opened his eyes, cutting off the connection. He turned to look at Lan Wangji who hadn't moved yet. "Lan Zhan?"Â He called quietly, "Lan Zhan?"
Lan Wangji did not respond.
Wei Wuxian tried to swallow his ill feelings and sat up. "Lan Zhan?" he called out again, his voice laced with worry.
Lan Wangji remained unresponsive.
The panic grew within Wei Wuxian. He had made such progress with the link. What could possibly be going wrong? "Lan Zhan!" He reached out towards Lan Wangji's arms, shaking his shoulders in an attempt to wake him, "Wake up! Wake up, wake up!"
But there was no response whatsoever no matter how much or how long he tried to rouse the other man up. Anxiety and helplessness began setting in. He was completely at loss of what to do. He was about to cry, he really was. "Please wake up." He begged desperately, squeezing his eyelids together tightly to fight back his tears.
Finally, just when he feared the worst, Lan Wangji gasped as if he had been holding his breath for a long time. He sat up abruptly, panting harshly.
"Lan Zhan! Are you okay?!" Wei Wuxian yelled, grabbing Lan Wangji's arm tightly as relief washed over him. He was about to launch himself into the other man's chest, hugging him tightly, when realization set in once more and he stopped short. "Lan Zhan? It's you, right?"
"Mn. Me." Lan Wangji affirmed.
A flash of disappointment flitted through Wei Wuxian for a second before it vanished. "Are you alright?" He asked.
Lan Wangji stared at him for a minute with a conflicted expression. Finally, he replied, "Yes."Â He said calmly, "I'm fine."
"Are you sure?" Wei Wuxian said, checking Lan Wangji's energy flow to confirm. To his relief, nothing was unusual. The man's golden core was pulsing strongly as usual despite the fact that Lan Wangji had only half of his energy in his reservoir. He released a relieved sigh and nodded slightly, feeling slightly awkward. "Thank goodness." He murmured. "You were unresponsive for almost an hour. Did something happen at your end?" He asked.
Lan Wangji hesitated for a second before answering, "Yes."
"What? What happened?" Wei Wuxian insisted nervously. "Tell me."
Lan Wangji sighed and looked away. "...I was back for a moment."
"Back? You mean, you went back to your timeline?" Wei Wuxian prompted eagerly.
Lan Wangji nodded, "Yes."
"So, how did it go? Did you manage to converse with the other 'me'? Does he have any idea on how to fix this?" Wei Wuxian asked, looking expectantly at Lan Wangji.
Lan Wangji kept his silence and stared at the wall in front of him, hesitant to tell the account of what had happened.
Wei Wuxian frowned, confused. "Did something go wrong?"
Lan Wangji let out a heavy sigh.
"Aiyo! What is it, Lan Zhan? Tell me. I can't stand the suspense." Wei Wuxian urged anxiously.
"...I didn't manage to talk to him."Â Lan Wangji said reluctantly. "Not properly." He added.
"Oh..." Wei Wuxian murmured, disappointed. "I guess the Empathy is a fail then." He said, looking downcast.
"You did not fail."Â Lan Wangji corrected quickly.
"Huh?" Wei Wuxian raised a brow.
"I fail to have a proper talk with Wei Ying because..." Lan Wangji paused awkwardly, looking like he was having difficulty finding the right words to say.
"Because...?" Wei Wuxian encouraged.
"I was drunk."Â Lan Wangji finally confessed. "Crazy drunk." He added, grimacing slightly at the remembrance of whatever inebriated shenanigans he pulled.
"..."
"..."
"..." Wei Wuxian stared at the other man wordlessly, completely stunned at his admission. "Drunk?"
"Yes."Â Lan Wangji confirmed, a frown appearing on his forehead. "When I woke up in my body, I was already... drunk."
"...."
"...."
"....hahahahahaha!"Â Wei Wuxian laughed loudly, doubling over. "Ohhhh! I'd love to hear the tale of drunk Lan Wangji then."Â He managed to choke out between laughs.
"Stop laughing."Â Lan Wangji growled.
"I'm sorry, Lan Zhan. It's just......that's so hilarious. I thought... I made a mistake or something because you didn't move for more than an hour straight, you know?"Â Wei Wuxian managed to get out between his fits of laughter. "But, you didn't manage to have a proper talk because you were 'crazy drunk'? You are so funny, Lan Zhan!"
"It's not my fault." Lan Wangji mumbled begrudgingly, which only made Wei Wuxian laugh harder.
******
Xiao Zhan's eyes flashed red, "What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" He yelled at the person who was holding a half-conscious Wang Yibo captive, his spiritual energy was sealed.
"Young Master Wei. Finally, you're looking at me."

*Wang Jie is one of Wang Yibo's nicknames (given by his close relative and used within the family). He disclosed this in an episode of Day Day Up.
