3rd person's POV
2 weeks passed and Y/n has gotten used to her new habits. In the morning, she would wake up right after Hanni and help her prepare breakfast. Then all of them would have breakfast together. On weekdays, Minji and Hyein went to patrol around near the villages, but they're free during weekends. Right after Minji and Hyein left the house, she would start doing chores, maintaining the plant in their garden, and assisting Hanni to prepare lunch.
Just like any other day, they would have lunch while talking about the village they'd visited. Y/n in particular hasn't visited any villages, so she just listened to the excited girl beside her.
"So, what do you think, Y/n?" Dani suddenly said.
"H-huh? You're talking to me?" Y/n obviously wasn't listening to the conversation.
"Yes, duh... Let's go shopping together. There's a village we want to visit" Dani offered.
Y/n was never a lazy person, but this time, she didn't have the motivation to go anywhere. Or maybe not because of laziness, but fear. Fear of rejection, just like before.
"W-which village?" Y/n's blood turned into ice as she was waiting for the other girl's response.
Dani's answer definitely relieved her. It was the name of a village she had never heard of before. Looking at Y/n's response, Dani didn't pry any further.
Ever since they let Y/n live in their house, they've never asked about Y/n's past or the reason behind her injuries that day either. They thought it might be insensitive and decided to wait until Y/n told them herself.
"Then I can try... but why suddenly?"
It turned out because of Y/n's lack of clothes. The five of them gave Y/n a set each and until now, Y/n keep using them simultaneously. So, Hanni, Dani, and Haerin decided to buy her new clothes.
After Y/n steadied her heart to go outside, they left the house and went toward the village.
-
Y/n didn't expect that a lot of people would gather in the market. As far as she knew, a market would be crazily packed in the morning. It's past lunchtime and the heat was even killing her, but many people were standing here and there, shouting and promoting.
'Must be hard' Y/n thought to herself.
A voice called her, "Y/n?" this time it was Haerin, "You don't feel hot?"
Y/n totally understood. Unlike the others, she borrowed a hooded cape from Haerin to hide her horns. No matter how many times they have convinced her that it's okay, Y/n was just too stubborn. Therefore, there she was, covering her whole body in the middle of the day.
"It's okay, Haerin. I'm fine"
Haerin nodded and took my hand to hold. She guided me to walk through this ocean of people following Dani and Hanni who were talking to each other.
"We've arrived. Minji unnie said this place has a lot of good outfits" Dani said while opening the door.
The place itself looks fancy, this was Y/n's first time going into a fancy shop.
They spent a lot of time choosing clothes for Y/n. The girl held the clothes that were given to her and sometimes wondered why there were so many.
When it was time for Y/n to try, the owner offered to help bring the lump of clothes to the fitting booth, "It's okay, I can manage". She made sure to bow, so she didn't look rude.
It took a long time for Y/n before she walked out of the fitting booth. The other girls thought that Y/n would walk out with the new clothes, but she just told them which ones she liked. The moment they saw the same hooded cape, they couldn't complain. They knew that she's not ready yet. So, they paid for them and left.
They didn't make it awkward for Y/n, with their smile, all of them went on a culinary tour. Of course, they didn't forget to bring some home for Minji and Hyein.
After they filled their stomachs, they made their way home.
"Oh, let me see that stall for a moment, I want to see their accessories!" and Dani grabbed Haerin's hand to take her as well.
"Hey careful," Hanni said as she followed them.
I waited from afar.
"Hey, young lad" a granny called out to me. It seemed like Y/n was standing right in front of her stall.
Y/n glanced at the others, but they're too engrossed in another stall. Y/n gulped before she responded, "Y-yeah?" she deepened her voice. She tried playing along since the granny called her a young lad.
"Would you like to buy some letter sheets? If you have things you're grateful for, but you're too shy to tell them directly, you can put your mind into a piece of paper. However, it's not just a mere paper, I've decorated them for you so the recipient can definitely feel your sincerity better" she explained it brightly that it made Y/n feel bad if she didn't buy any. The sun was about to set, might as well become her last buyer of the day.
Y/n chose 5 letter sheets that she thought were the prettiest. She wasn't sure if she would be able to write one any time soon, but she would think about it later. She paid for them and hid the letter sheets inside the cape.
"My sights are getting blurry these days, but now that I see you closer, it turns out you're a girl" the granny suddenly said.
Y/n's eyes widen, if she could see her face, what about her horns?
"Ah... Sorry that I didn't tell you sooner" she said as she pulled her hood close to her face, trying to cover for more.
"Nono, it's my fault for misidentifying you" now it became a sorry contest. "You should not hide your beauty like that. During my youth days, I would show off my face to every person in the village or... is that why you hide them, so you wouldn't attract people?"
"Haha no... I'm just... shy" technically, what the granny said was right. She didn't want to attract anyone, but not for her 'beauty' as the granny said. Instead, it was to hide her ugliness, or at least that's what she thought of herself.
Y/n bid her goodbye to the granny and ran toward the girls. They just finished paying and everything. Y/n guessed they didn't notice that Y/n was buying something minutes ago.
Dani and Haerin started walking home and Y/n was about to do the same when suddenly Hanni's hand reached for Y/n's hood.
Reflexively Y/n caught her hand, "S-sorry, it seems like your hood is about to fall".
Y/n quickly released Hanni's hand and fixed her hood. "I'm really sorry... I thought... you..."
"Hey, look at me, it's okay. I understand" Hanni was trying to calm Y/n down. Now, it's Hanny's turn to hold Y/n's hand and walk together.
They didn't talk a lot during the walk.
Y/n thought she definitely had to apologize to Hanni. Damn, she felt bad.
