Amon hated to admit it, but Lucinda was right.
Seeing the hesitation on Amonâs face, Lucinda continued, âThis is time I should have been finishing with some work, but instead, Iâm here.
If you donât have enough evidence, shouldnât you at least take these handcuffs off?â
Lucinda raised her handcuffed hands, her skin already red slightly swollen.
Amon nodded.
âThe evidence against you isnât sufficient.
So.
.
â
âMr.
Walsh!â
Alvina stopped him and asked degradingly, âAs a mere captain, are you even qualified to make such a decision?â
Annoyed and insulted by her words and tone, Amon was just about to retort when a policeman rushed in and whispered something in his ear.
Amonâs face darkened.
He turned back to Lucinda with a cold face and said stiffly, âIâm sorry, but I canât take them off yet.
You are still the main suspect.
Iâll have to send you to the incarceration room and interrogate you later.
â
The incarceration room was a horrible place where felony criminals were usually sent.
Criminals were usually tortured in there.
The tortures were designed to physically and mentally break tough prisoners.
This was a very discreet place that wasnât open to all prisoners.
Naturally, Alvina and Tess were very happy with this announcement.
Amon waved someone over to take Lucinda into the incarceration room.
Lucinda smiled playfully and didnât resist.
Nathaniel however, wasnât okay with it.
He stood up and pushed her behind him.
With cold eyes, and a powerful aura, he asked, âDonât you dare hurt her!â
Lucinda raised her eyebrows in surprise at this.
Was it so unbearable for him that he had finally decided to make a risky move?
Amonâs face darkened, feeling insulted by Nathanielâs attitude.
âWho do you think you are? You have no right to interfere in this!â
He waved over a policeman and ordered, âTake her away!â
Furious, Nathaniel threw caution to the wind and was about to cause a scene when a deep voice suddenly sounded from outside.
