Wedding Bouquet (1)n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Jiang Xingâs brain went blank. Because he was too shocked, his brain got stuck and he forgot what to say.
He froze for a long time, feeling like he shouldnât be here. He should step back and close the door for them⦠but that also didnât seem right!
This, this⦠what should he do?
And how was this possible?
Wasnât this ignoring her uncle? This must not be!
Jiang Xing coughed lightly and glanced back and forth between Jiang Xiaoman and Yu Qingshi with sharp eyes, and said solemnly, âQingshi, come outside with me.â
Yu Qingshi glanced at him nervously, then looked at Jiang Xiaoman and said earnestly, âThen I⦠Iâll step out with Uncle first.â
Uncle, he was still calling him uncle? Who was his uncle?!
Donât call him that!
Jiang Xing said with a stern face, âJust call me uncle1.â
This sentence filled with gunpowder caused the atmosphere to instantly become tense.
Jiang Xiaoman felt a little guilty and didnât dare to speak, but when she heard that her uncle wanted to find fault with her childhood friend, she became worried and said, âUncle, donât talk to him, just talk to me.â
âTalk to you? What would I talk to you for?â Jiang Xing stared at her, so angry that smoke was coming out from his forehead.
Jiang Xiaoman hesitated, not daring to speak, instead looking at him timidly and playing with her fingers.
Jiang Xing was pacing around anxiously, feeling that something was going wrong. Originally, he just wanted to educate the children, but now, the sense of crisis in his heart was growing a little bit bigger.
It was the sense of crisis from his little cabbage being stolen away and the corner of his walls being dug down until it crumbled â the feeling was growing stronger and stronger.
Even before anything happened, she was already standing on an outsiderâs side. How bad would it be once something actually happened!?
The more Jiang Xing thought about it, the angrier he became and the more he wanted to roll up his sleeves. He thought angrily for a while, and decided that he couldnât let it go, so he pointed at Yu Qingshi and said, âYou, come with me.â
Yu Qingshi nodded silently.
But Jiang Xiaoman stopped him.
She cried and grabbed Jiang Xingâs arm. âUncle, Uncle, donât scold him, if you want to look for someone to scold, then just scold me. Heâs timid, donât scare him. Iâm the one who took the initiative to seduce him.â
ââ¦â Jiang Xing was so angry he was dumbfounded.
Yu Qingshi was a responsible man. How could he let Jiang Xiaoman take the blame?
He said anxiously, âUncle, itâs me! It was me who started⦠me who startedâ¦â
Was this intentional? Was this trying to provoke him??
âShut up!â Jiang Xing sneered, âOkay, I wonât scold you, Iâll scold Xiaoman.â
Yu Qingshi was thrown out. Jiang Xing stayed in the room.
He was going to talk about life with Jiang Xiaoman, but unfortunately Jiang Xing was a big man, so he didnât know what to say for a long time, and the two of them had to sit face to face.
Jiang Xiaoman did not speak, and neither did Jiang Xing.
Time passed by. Jiang Xiaoman poured him cup after cup of tea and finally couldnât bear it anymore and asked, âUncle, what do you have to say? Just say it if thereâs anything you want to say.â
âI donât agree.â Jiang Xing was firm.
âEh?â
Donât agree with what?
âI donât agree with this marriage.â
ââ¦â Jiang Xiaoman said, âNo one is getting married here except you.â
âEven if youâre not getting married, I donât agree!â Jiang Xing hadnât forgotten the shock just now, and said anxiously, âThis⦠this is⦠you are still young, you know? Still young!â
How did she suddenly grow up to be such a big girl when she was so small before?
Jiang Xing said that she was still young, and he really thought so in his heart.
Although the child had grown up and was a big girl now, in his heart, she would always be a child even when she had become a big girl⦠He was not ready yet and needed to calm down.
Originally, Jiang Xing also really liked Yu Qingshi. But now the more he looked at him, the more unpleasant he looked in his eyes, and the more he looked like he was conspiring to do something.
Now, he was no longer calmly allowing his familyâs Xiaoman to hang around that boy from Yu family.
That wolf cub was already capable of finding a mate.
Jiang Xing gritted his teeth.
Jiang Xiaoman snorted and said, âI have grown up and am an adult. Only youâre allowed to get married, but I cannot fall in love?â
Jiang Xing had a stiff face and said righteously, âItâs not a question of whether you can fall in love or not. This is a very serious thing, you are still young, you canât⦠this and that.â
Oh, Jiang Xiaoman understood.
She whispered, âOkay.â
ââ¦â Jiang Xing was stunned. He didnât expect her to agree with him so clearly and straightforwardly.
Was he going to be the big stick that separated the lovebirds2? It didnât seem so. Would he give them his blessing? That was even less likely.
So what was he supposed to do here?
Jiang Xing was confused.
He decided to go to Jiang Xiumei to discuss this, and he got up and left.
Right now, Jiang Xiumei was talking to Tao Tao, telling her what she should pay attention to tomorrow.
When Jiang Xing came in, the conversation between the two stopped abruptly and they looked at him.
âMom, I⦠I have something to discuss with you.â
Jiang Xiumei looked at him, âWhatâs the matter? Just now I asked you to give Xiaoman the dress to wear tomorrow, did you deliver it?â
Jiang Xing only remembered this matter now. He was so shocked earlier that he forgot about it.
He also didnât care about it anymore and said, âItâs okay, that is not important, what Iâm about to tell you is a bit serious.â
âWhatâs so serious?â
âShe, sheâ¦â Jiang Xing struggled for a while, then said mysteriously, âWe⦠we canât hold on to your granddaughter anymoreâ¦â
â??â
Jiang Xiumei was stunned for a moment, thinking she heard it wrong. She thought for a while and then said, âWe canât hold on to my granddaughter anymore? Is Tao Taoâs belly already filled? Is it a girl? And we canât even hold on to her anymore? Jiang Xing, you have sinned!â
Tao Tao: ââ¦â She wasnât pregnant!
She also didnât know what happened.
Jiang Xing said anxiously, âItâs your granddaughter3! Sheâs in love!â
Jiang Xiumei was taken aback, and so was Tao Tao.
This really was a big deal.
Footnote:
1. This is a different term for uncle, and also one that is more usually used to address a friendâs father, for example. Yu Qingshi was calling him using the same âuncleâ that Xiaoman uses.
2. The original term used is mandarin ducks, who are known to always be in a pair.
3. The term here refers to an âouterâ granddaughter (daughter from her daughter) which narrows it down to Xiaoman. Daughter from her son would be an âinnerâ granddaughter.
