Tong and Mark had only walked a few steps away from the warehouse when reality hit Tong like a freight train.

He suddenly stopped, turning to face the vampire. 'Wait a minute. Why did I bring you here? You were supposed to go back to your coffin or something.'

Mark's eyes widened. 'After centuries of imprisonment, you expect me to return to that confining coffin? Absolutely not.'

'Well, damn,' Tong grumbled while scratching his head. 'Alright, but you can't stay with me. You have to find... I don't know, a basement or something.'

Mark's gaze turned sharp. 'You woke me up. You're in charge of me now.'

'Absolutely!' retorted Barrel. 'I didn't sign up to be a vampire carer.'

Mark's face tensed. 'I'm hungry.'

'Of course you're hungry,' sighed Tong. 'Look, I don't have blood, and I'd hate to be your meal.'

Mark stepped closer, his eyes twinkling with an almost mischievous light. 'I don't need to bite your neck.'

The barrel was leaned against the wall. 'Oh, really? Then how did you-'

Before she could finish her sentence, Mark narrowed the distance between them, touching Tong's lips.

Tong's eyes widened in shock as Mark bit his lower lip lightly, causing it to bleed.

'What the hell, mate?' muttered Tong, his words muffled in Mark's mouth.

Mark didn't answer, focusing on his food. Tong felt a strange mixture of sensations-pain, warmth, and a strange tingle. It was very intimate, and Tong felt like he couldn't break away.

After a while, Mark pulled away, licking his lips contentedly. 'So good,' he murmured, before leaning in again to lick Tong's lips, the wound healing almost instantly.

Tong stood there, dumbfounded. 'Did you just...?'

'Like your lips? Yes,' Mark said softly. 'Not very noticeable but just as effective.'

'You're really weird,' Tong said as he wiped his mouth. 'But I guess it's better than you thinking of me as Dracula.'

Mark was wide-eyed. 'You're a great character yourself, Tong. Now, where are we going? I'm still adjusting to this modern world.'

Tong shook his head, exasperated. 'I can't believe this is happening. I thought you would sleep with me until we found something better.'

Mark's eyes twinkled with amusement. 'I appreciate your hospitality.'

'Don't be pushy,' Tong grumbled. 'And no more biting.'

'No promises,' Mark replied as he looked Tong in the eye, mimicking Tong's earlier words.

As they walked back to Tong's apartment, Tong couldn't help but think that life just got a lot more complicated-and maybe a little more interesting too. 'Don't bother, okay?'

Mark chuckled. 'Of course, Tong. I'll be the perfect guest.'

'Yes, I will be the perfect guest,' Tong muttered.
