âRun?â Kaiza muttered to himself, his eyes widening in fear. His heart pounding wildly in his chest. Now he understood the gravity of the situation they were intertwined in. He couldnât believe that more danger awaited them.
âI canât die yet!â He thought, his breath coming in heavy gasp.
Just as Enzox uttered the word âRunâ. He began operating the panel between him and his wife again. Then water began to splash on the wheel screen watching off the strange blue liquidâblue blood and the written blood message.
âClerk!?!â the couples exclaimed in unison, both leaning forward their back to get a clearer look at the personâs face. If they werenât mistaken. They were on the edge of their seats staring.
âDo you know him?â Kaiza asked, but didnât get an answer. This was because their conversation was interrupted.
As he asked the question, an unexpected light shone from behind, illuminating this part of the forest. Before any of them could identify its source, a powerful force struck their car from behind, pushing the car several feets forward.
Enzox turned back, only to see something he recognized: a car he designed himself. That could only mean one thingâthe assassin had taken his car, the one he left at the restaurant. Or perhaps his boss, M. Boss, was here in person.
Enzox zoomed in using the display in his glass. This time with just his eye widening. He saw the assassin, it wasnât his boss. Further he noticed there was someone seated in the passengerâs seat â a woman. He zoomed in on the person and his eyes widened even more.
âMaybelâ he muttered, staring at the woman as she smiled back at him. She knew he would do exactly that to see them.
While Enzox was focused on the people in the car, Kaizaâs gaze was fixed on the man with the blue blood on the windshield.
Initially, he tried to see what had hit the car but the carâs tinted windshield prevented him from seeing inside. So, he sat back waiting for words from his dad. Then he noticed something strange happening outside.
After the hit, the man with the blue blood had been thrown several meters away from the car. Now, he was standing up and began to exhibit some kind of ability. In a flash, the man disappeared â or maybe he turned invisible.
Kaiza was left stunned, his jaw dropped. Susan also was a witness but she wasnât totally amazed. To her, the man had just used his ability to escape. Escape this messed up situation before he gets intertwined. And since he was done delivering his message, he had nothing else waiting for.
After Enzox identified the people in the car, he began operating the screen again. He issued a final command, and their car sped off, accelerating to two times its previous speed. This time, the burst would last ten minutes, covering the distance that would normally take thirty.
Fortunately, the car the assassin was driving was an older model of Enzoxâs advanced cars and could never match the speed of the one they were in now.
Just as the car came to a stop in the middle of the forest for a one minute cool down, something happened.
A bomb was shot at them from behind. Despite the fact the car being bulletproof, the bomb had a massive impact on the car.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Enzox hadnât expected that to happen. The enemy appeared out of nowhere and attacked. He had assumed they wouldnât catch up during this one minute break, but they did.
Back then, as soon as Enzox hit the accelerator, the assassin had predicted what his next move would be. So they initiated their own speed-up sequence just before Enzox did, closing the gap and instantly shooting the bomb at his car when they got close enough. Not wasting time.
Though the assassinâs car was slower, the incident made it possible.
They were still in this dark shabby part of the city, over a bridge. After the car was hit. The explosion sent Enzoxâs car over the bridge barricades.
But before the car could completely fall into the shallow river below them. Enzox activated the floating mode, lifting the car mid air and accelerating over the forest below them.
The car finally stopped above the trees as the speed boost ended. Enzox then scanned the area of the forest, looking for an open space to land. The carâs defenses were already getting weaker, and he wanted to avoid being shot down from the sky.
Surprisingly, even before the scan was complete, the car was hit by another blast. The hit destabilized the car, forcing it to land violently, colliding with the forest trees.
That instance, the car alarm blared.
âPower box destroyed. System in danger.â
Then it stopped, immobilized.
Enzox was baffled by the sudden hit. As far as he knew, the car their chasers were driving usually took more time to reboot before another speed off, unlike the car he was driving.
So how did they manage to get to them? That baffled Enzox.
As he turned to look back, he saw the woman from earlier â the one who smiled at him. Her name was Maybel. She was walking toward the car. Enzox noticed further, she was wearing the speed shoes he had invented a month ago just about to be launched.
âWhat?â Enzox exclaimed seeing the shoes with her. That was supposed to be locked away in his workshop at the tech company. But how did she get them?
Before he could figure this out. She was standing next to the car.
Tension rising in the car.
Maybel knocked on the front window, where Enzox was seated. He hesitated, butâ¦
âDo it!â Susan said. Then reached out for his hand. âAnd stay calm,â She added.
Unlike Enzox and Kaiza who were breathing heavily, Susan was remarkably too calm for this situation. Knowing the defenseless state of the car, Enzox knew he needed to avoid provoking more war from this woman. He rolled down the glass.
âGood to see you Mr. Enzox Lotan. And your lovely family. I mean no harm. I am here for what belongs to my boss. What your husband and father stoleâ she said her gaze shifting to Kaiza and Susan.
âMr. Enzox, play smartly,â she added mockingly.
Enzox grabbed the bag from Kaiza, handing it over to her.
âWise choice!â she exclaimed.
Then, they heard the sound of engine revving, surrounding the area.
The woman didnât seem surprised by this. Instead she turned to them and began addressing them.
âYou are late,â She said.
âMy bad Maybel! We tried our best to locate you in timeâ one of the five men on bikes said, climbing off his bike. Walking towards her.
Without a response to them, Maybel turned to Enzox âI thought I would need to kick your a** but fortunately for you. You made some smart decisions. So I will let you go. Just make sure you leave and never come back here. Otherwise, I will make sure I end your life, Mr. Enzoxâ she warned, stepping away from the car.
âWhat should we do now, Maybelâ The man asked her.
âI did the job. Just return until you are summonedâ she answered.
âI thought M. Boss ordered us to finish himâ
âThat was if he didnât cooperate. But he was a good boyâ
âOkay.â The man replied as he and his men rode away.
Then, the woman all of a sudden stopped after she had walked a few steps away from them.
âEven if I donât kill you. I will make you lose whatâs precious to youâ She declared. Then she turned around, raising an explosive launcher. Using the same glasses as Enzoxâs, she engaged the inspect function, scanning the car to find a vital spot that would completely damage the car.
In seconds, multiple areas of the car were highlighted and labeled as critical targets. Without time to scheme through all on her screen right now, she randomly picked a spot and fired at the car. Unknown to her, that was one of the most vital points that would destroy the car within seconds.
âshitâ Enzox muttered, recognizing where she had aimed at.
As the bomb collided with the car, the car violently exploded. An intense blast followed as it hit the gas tank, sending the car flying.
