Chapter 39: Chapter 35

The Luna's AwakeningWords: 53155

I could sense we where closing in on the vampires fast. They where making a bee line straight in our direction just as we were. Alec and some of the wolves were following them and leading them our way.

I barked a command signal to Rick and Cody, who were running on either side of me and they split up going in different directions.

We started forming a large barrier so they wouldn't be able to get past us.

Kian sent Rosie and Ben off to the sides in case the vampires wanted to try get past us. Kian and Nick replaced their places, both males flanking me.

Nick's eyes had changed from blue to emerald green. He had a focused and determined stare.

I could smell them now.

The foul stench of burnt wood and smoke tingled me nose.

I let out a low menacing growl that seemed to echo through the woods.

The orange rays of the sun shined down on us giving us a clear sight of line thankfully.

Then I saw them. They came to a halt about 100 metres from us and so did we. They were three male vampires who wore dirty and ripped up clothing. They looked like lower class vampires. Probably sent to do the King's dirty work.

They looked at each other, a look that only they seemed to understand. They didn't look scared or intimidated. Rather they looked excited and bloody hungry. They grinned psychotically at us, like a murderer would before killing their victim. Baring their sharp fangs at us.

The one in the middle who looked like the oldest one with dark brown hair and specks of grey, nudged the vampires on either side of him. He looked me straight in the eyes as he spoke to them.

Although he was far, I could hear him with my super wolf hearing. I wasn't sure if the others could though. "Her. She's their leader. She's the one he's after." He pointed.

Kian growled menacingly, it was a warning growl as he took a couple steps closer to me. He must of got the hint of what the vampire said.

"You sure? How do we know?" Laughed the other one at Kian's threat.

"I can tell it's her. She's different to any other female wolf I've seen.. and killed." He said adding the last part as a joke. "She also bares the mark on her hip."

I snarled at him, baring my canine and flicking my tongue.

"Did you both already take the last bottles?" He asked

Both vampires nodded in reply.

"Good. I want her alive." He added before the other two nodded, smiling at each other. They sprinted forward with insane vampire speed.

I let out a low bark and snarl that resembled a battle cry as we rushed forward.

It all happened so fast. Like a sea of waves crashing against each other, we collided.

I targeted the the younger looking vampire who lunged at me first.

The sounds of snarls teeth snapping, growling and hissing filled the air.

Nick and Cody took on the tall lanky one. While the other focused on the others.

'Something's up with these vampire's. They are unusually strong and fast.' Cody one of the warriors grunted as he mind linked me. I watched as his jaw missed the vampire's neck as the vampire dodged him and instead flung Cody through the air and against a tree, like a rag doll.

Cody let out a yelp.

'Cody!' I shouted.

'I'm fine.' He reassured me, shaking his head as he stumbled back up.

The vampire was too distracted that he didn't see Rick leap on to his back and rip into him savagely. He let out a blood curdling scream before turning into ash.

Rosie and Ben where helping Kian out with the second vampire.

I watched the fight around me. Flashes of what had happened a few seconds ago flashed in my mind as I tried to connect the pieces.

"Did you take the bottles?" The vampires nodding in response.

I blinked the memories away.

They must have taken some sort of drug or enhancer before hand which has made them stronger.

I notice sudden movement from my peripheral vision. It was the older vampire coming at me. He probably though he could catch me off guard.

'Lara watch out!-' Nick shouted, but I already was onto it.

My ears flicked back as I crouched and leaped into the air letting out a predatory snarl. The vampire must have not been expecting it because I saw the flash of fear in his eyes as I pounced onto him. I pinned him down with my body jaws snapping mere inches from his face threateningly.

I noticed Kian and his pack members had finished off the other remaining vampire they were fighting. It was just this one left.

I could feel my wolf angry and wanting to rip into the vampires throat but I needed answers. I shifted back to my human form, still hovering over his body, pinning him down.

"Why did you come!" I ordered him shoving him harder onto the ground as I kept a hand around his neck. My claws digging into his skin.He struggled to break free but he was too weak against my True Luna strength, I guess whatever her took must of wore off.

He let out a gurgled laugh in amusement but I cut him off by squeezing my grip around his neck, causing him to cough.

"He sent us. He wanted us to bring you in. After all there is a heavy price on your head in the vampire community." The vampire replied weakly. His toe was harsh and cold but I could see the fear of death in his eyes.

"Price?" I questioned urging him to continue.

"Any vampire who brings you in alive, gets rewarded with riches. Enough to keep a vampire like me living like a king for the rest of my life." He groaned.

Of course the Eric Northman had put a price on my. He wanted other to do the work for him.

"You took something earlier which made you stronger. What was it?" I growled, but the vampire didn't speak.

"Answer me!" I snarled lifting him and shoving him again harder into the ground. He grunted and groaned in pain.

"Wolf Blood." He choked out.

My body froze. A shiver went up my spine. Were there wolves working for him? I had to know

"Where did you get it from?" I said in a low menacing tone.

"The king he gave them to us. He keeps wolves locked up for their blood."

My head was spinning and my body tingled with anger, confusion and worry.

The vampire spat on my face and chuckled. This only seemed to fuel my now raging anger.

I felt my hand, which had a hold on the vampires neck, begin to get hot. My Luna eyes began to glowed bright ember.

I felt the True Luna spirit taking over my body. She was taking control. I felt like I was being pulled back into the back of my mind and watching myself from within my body.

The vampire began to squirm in pain from the heat coming from my hand.

It was one of my True Luna powers. Fire

Soon enough my whole hand was enveloped in a flickering flame and the vampire screamed. It didn't burn my hand it's only felt hot but it was manageable.

He struggled under her grip. "You will get your punishment." whispered the True Luna as she burned the vampire alive. His screams cutting off as his body burned but surprisingly didn't turn to ash, it just continued to burn.

What are you doing? I asked.

I'm doing what must me done. He did many bad things. He deserved this.

Do not feel pity for him.

I stood there in shock as I watched him burn.

She showed me flashes of images which seemed to be from this vampire's life. All the images were dark and violent. She was right, he did deserve this. That way he wouldn't hurt anyone again.

We all stood around the burning body in our human form. I felt myself slowly gain control of my own body again as the True Luna retreated back into the darkness of my mind, watching and listening.

I glanced at Kian and was surprised to seem him observing me. There was a strange look in his eyes. The reflections of the flames dance in his eyes making him more mysterious and dangerously attractive. He seemed to sense something was up and that that was not me.

•

"Lara. Are you alright." Nick said as he came up to me. We where walking to the library where Colleen was after she came back from seeing other witches from her Covern.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" I replied confused.

"It's just I've never seen you act like that before, like you did with that vampire. It was so animalistic. It was as if something took over you.." For some reason this made me angry. I guess He seemed to be voicing my fears after what happened earlier and that made me feel even more anxious on more on edge.

"I'm fine, Nick. Drop it." I snapped. He seemed to flinch at my response, taken a back by my bluntness and I immediately felt guilty.

Stop it Lara, you can't take your edge out on him.

I stopped walking and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so harsh,"

He looked away. His lips forming a thin line, his jaw twitching, clearly annoyed now.

"It's just that I have a lot on my mind right now. Please understand." I said more sympathetically.

He nodded. "Yeah I understand, don't worry. Forget I asked." he said walking ahead of me and opening the doors to the library. I let out a sigh, frustrated at him. God why did he have to be so frustrating sometimes.

Colleen was wearing her thin rectangle glasses that sat at the tip of her nose. She seemed to be in the middle of something as she rummaged through the pile of notes and scribbles in front of her. She glanced up as Nick and I walked in.

"Ahh I'd heard some blood suckers had made gotten through the boarders. I'm glad everything is okay though. Good to hear that Kian and his pack were able to help."

She must of seen the look of concern on my face because she paused and took off her glasses, folding them and storing them away in one of her pockets.

"What is it Lara, dear, everything ok?"

"The vampires that came onto the territory had wolf blood in their system. It made them stronger then usual."

Colleen's brows furrowed as it formed creases of concern and confusion. Her gazed wondered in thought before returning back to me. "Wolf blood?"

I began instinctively pacing the room, back and forth, while Nick casually lent against one of the tables, crossing his arms. "Yes. I'm afraid it's much more serious because according to one of the vampire's, Eric Northman has wolves locked up and used as blood bags. What concerns me most is that some of them may from our very own pack, as well as from other packs."

"What makes you say this?" Nick asked curiously, an eyebrow rising in concern.

"Well think about, in the past when we had Eleanor as Luna, we had several cases were wolves on patrol or that had left the territory had gone missing and were just presumed dead, but there were never any bodies found." I watched as Colleen took the information in.

She hummed in agreement. "Yes, that does seem to put pieces in place."

We all turned to the sound of the doors opening as Rick walked in. "Yes kiddo, I'm afraid that you're probably right." He said sadly.

He took seat on the couch in the middle of the room. I looked at him sensing that he was going to elaborate. He look ahead as he seemed to explain the memory he was reliving. "A while back when I was doing rounds, I over heard a conversation between Eleanor and Stephan. She mentioned something about a deal with the Vampire King and some of the missing wolves."

"You think it was her idea, she was helping Eric?" I wouldn't put it past her.

Rick nodded,"I mean it all seems to add up. Every time there was a missing person she would never push to find out what happened she would just leave it or come up with an excuse."

"But how would they get past the boarders? Wouldn't the patrol team be notified. We would know about it?" Nick said confused.

Rick shrugged, "I wouldn't be surprised if Eleanor helped let them in and cover their tracks. It didn't happen often so no one ever really said anything, and I mean most people were to scared to even question her."

He was right.

I didn't want to be that kind of leader. I was going to make this right.

"Well now we know that Eleanor was behind this and was helping the vampire king, which means we need to fix this. We will make a plan and send a rescue team with the help of other packs but first we need to find the exact location of Eric Northman's hide out."

I looked at the clock on the wall and it read 7:26.

"Oh shoot I have to go. I'd told Kian I'd meet up with him at 7:30."

I saw a muscle in Nick's jaw jump as he looked away trying to look like he didn't care.

"Oh that's alright dear. I think we've said everything that needs to be discussed." Colleen said popping her glasses back on.

"Yeah, I gotta head off to the gym and check out how the training is going." Rick said getting up from the couch.

I nodded before disappearing through the doors.

•

It was 7:30. I had agreed to meet Kian at the front of the pack house for our hang out. He said he had to tell me something and that he rather tell me alone, which made me curious of what it might be.

I slipped my jacket on as I walked through the front doors. The cold gust of wind hitting my face. Kian was already here. His back was facing me but at the sound of the doors opening he turn.

He was wearing black jeans, a white shirt and a green button up jacket.

"How did it go, your meeting with, Colleen?" He ask as we made our way down the stairs towards the large garden area.

"There's a few things that we had to discus regarding what the vampire mentioned earlier about wolves being kept locked up for their blood."

"Yeah. I've gotta be honest I respect the way you dealt with that vampire. It was interesting to watch you use your powers on him." I noticed him glance at my reaction through the corner of my eye.

I hugged my shoulders as I rubbed my arms from the chills that pricked my skin. I wasn't sure if it was from the thought of what happened earlier or from the cold.

"Yeah, honestly I was surprised too, it kinda happened instinctively. My True Luna spirit took over my body." Literally.

I turned to look at him from the side. His sharp jaw line, was tense and his eyes had a cloud of mixed emotions, worry, concern, fear?

"I saw you, Lara. That wasn't you." I frozen in my tracks, taken aback by his words. I didn't know how to respond. How the hell was he so observant?

"I- wha-what do you mean?" I stuttered, unsure why I suddenly felt nervous.

He stopped and turned to face me. His gaze unwavering from my face, as if he was studying my reaction. I was caught in the trance of his icy blue eyes. His gaze was sharp, unwavering yet he appeared calm and collected but I could tell he was hiding something.

"I came out here because there's something you should know about before you go after the Vampire King and do what it is you were chosen to do as a True Luna."

We were standing in the middle of the garden area close to the water fountain now. We were alone, there was no one outside.

I had a bad feeling about what he was going to say. I tried to maintain my cool and calm composure.

"Just know that the reason why I'm about to tell you this is because you are my mate and it is my job to protect you and keep you safe... I don't want to loose you." He said the last part so quietly I almost believed he was talking to himself.

"What is it Kian? Your making me anxious." I said, shifting weight to my right leg and crossing my arms over my chest.

"It's been written in history that once a True Luna completes her purpose on Earth the True Luna is no longer needed.." He looked away before looking back at me, unsure how to continue.

I gave him the look that said continue with what your about to say.

"..which means the spirit of the True Luna leaves her body, killing the body in the process."

My breath caught in my throat as I stood there in place, frozen in shock and unable to comprehend. I felt like my body was trying to suck in air but it was as if my throat was closed.

I was brought back by the sound of Kian's concerned voice, "Lara?"

I blinked several times and shook my head trying to come back to my senses.

"You're lying." I said in a voice that sounded colder then I expected.

"Lara I'm not. Trust me I wouldn't joke about something like this either. The day of the coronation ceremony, my father told me. After you passed out I went to talk to the witch Colleen and she confirmed it was true."

He must of seen my confused reaction. "Lara listen-" He took a step closer towards me but I moved back waving him off.

"Don't" My voice was low and threateningly. He didn't continue to move closer.

"Lara listen, you can't go through with this, there has to be another way that doesn't result in the spirit killing you. I know what I'm asking for is a lot but as your mate if have the right. I only just recently found you after searching for two years and nearly giving up, I can't loose you now." He sounded pleading but I couldn't seem to taking in what he was saying, I was still in shock.

Why did I always have to get dropped with bomb shells like this?

We were quiet for a moment.

"Talk to me. What are you thinking?" he said quietly. If I weren't in this situation I would have melted into his arms but right now my head was out of it.

"Why didn't anybody tell me earlier? Why didn't Colleen tell me before?" I asked more to myself. I was starting to get mad and frustrated by the minute. I was hurt she hadn't mentioned something so important like this to me.

"I don't know." He said softly. I had to go find her.

I started taking a few steps back in the direction where we came from. "I have to go."

"Wait I'll come with you." He said following me.

"No. I need to talk to her alone. I'll find you later." and with that I walked back to the main building, to the library.

'Spirit, is it true?' I asked summoning the True Luna spirit.

Yes. Unfortunately it is. She responded sadly. I wish it was different Lara

Why couldn't I just have a normal life. Why did I have to be the chosen one out of all people.

I pushed open the doors to the library, slightly harder than I expected.

Colleen was sitting at a desk with her glasses on as she read a thick book. She looked up startled.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I couldn't control the anger that flowed through my tone like a low growl.

There was confusion in her expression but then I saw her eyes widen slightly in realization.

She stood up, making her way towards me. "Oh, dear, I was waiting for the right time. I didn't want to bombard you with bomb shells. You're still learning and adjusting to you new life." Her voice was soft and tender. She approached me the same way someone would approach a frightened animal that was ready to attack. With caution.

I took deep breaths to calm my anger and stop my wolf from threatening to come out. I could feel it close to the surface.

Violence wasn't going to get me anywhere. I had to be calm and rational. I had to listen to what she had to say.

I crossed my arms. "So what? You were going to wait till I'd already killed Eric?" I snapped.

"No. That was not the plan. I was going to tell you when we came back from visiting the Northern pack." She let out sigh.

She gave me a apologic look, "Look Lara, I know it's hard to take in and I get that you're angry I didn't tell you earlier and I'm sorry that was my mistake but unfortunately Lara this has to be done. You and I both know that." She was right.

Deep down I knew that this new information wasn't going to stop me from going ahead with my purpose. One person dying meant nothing if it meant the world could live in peace. I new that.

My silence was enough of an answer for her. She knew she was right. She must of also noticed I'd calmed down because she came closer to me. She smiled sadly.

She put a comforting hand on my shoulder. "I really wish things were different sweet heart. I wouldn't wish this life upon anyone, but you are the strongest girl I know and I will do everything in my power to find a way to save you." There was a determined glint in her eyes and it made me feel better.

"Thankyou Colleen." I whispered gratefully. "And you're right. This doesn't change how I feel about going through with my plan." She nodded in response.

"I know dear. It's in your nature to protect those who need protecting. It's what a leader does."

"Does Nick know about this? Or Rick?" I asked

"No, Nick doesn't know. I'm afraid he wouldn't take it well. Rick is the only one who knows. Don't be mad at him dear. It was hard for him when he found out. I told him just after you left to see Kian."

"Ok. Can you please not tell Nick. I don't want him to know. It could affect him and knowing him he won't be happy or want to go through our plan."

She nodded understandingly.

"So I guess this is why you've been spending most of your time in here recently." I said as I looked around, jokingly.

"Yes. I'm trying to find more information on True Luna's to see if there's anything useful." She walked around to her desk where all the notes and scribbles were.

"That reminds me. Earlier today, when I was interrogating one of the vampires. The True Luna spirit took control over my body. It was strange, as if I was watching my body from within my mind, with no control. It was unsettling. Is that normal?"

Colleen started rummaging through the book that was sitting on her desk.

She slipped her reading glasses on as she skimmed through one of the pages in the book. "Yes I read here about something regarding about the True Luna being capable of taking over the body of the werewolf host. You will learn to adapt to it. Right now your body is still adjusting to her presence in your mind. Over time you will learn to use it to your advantage. It says here that it is helpful during dangerous situation because the spirit will always do everything in its power to keep the host safe and to also complete its purpose."

I nodded taking the information in. That was probably why she took control earlier.

"That makes sense." I agreed.

Colleen continued to look through the book. "I've been trying find more information on True Luna's but there isn't much information because of their rareness. A lot of the information is kept in ancient books containing werewolf history, but it's not enough. I'll have to go to meet with the other witches from my Coven to see if they can help me find any information that may give us an idea on how to keep you alive."

I nodded.

•

Two days went by and we managed to get intel from someone that one of the nightclubs run by a major vampire group was going to be having some important vampire guest visit tonight and we decided it was best to have a look.

We needed to get information about Eric's mansion location. What better place then one of his famous night clubs he was associated with. Hex and Rosie had said they'd heard he was in town recently so this could be an opportunity.

When we pulled up to the front of the famous Hilton Nightclub at 9 o'clock, it was bursting with people and loud music. People were pouring in and out.

"Thanks for the ride Cody, you can drop us off here at the front. Wait for us out here, I'll let you know when we are ready to leave." I said putting a hand on his shoulder. He nodded in agreement.

Kian, Rick, Rosie, Ben, Nick and Jade all exited out of the black limo. After a long disagreement, Jade had insisted to come with us, she didn't want to miss out on the fun from us going out to a club without her. I ended up letting her come because I knew there was no use in arguing she was very stubborn. However she was also a skilled fighter so extra back up could come in handy in case things turned ugly. I mean we were about to walk into a club crawling with vampires. Who knew what could happen.

"Alright team stay close. We need to be on high alert. No distractions once we are in." I said to the others once we all got out the car and stood together. They all nodded.

Kian looked ahead his expression hard yet he was calm. It was as if he was studying the place, his senses on high alert in case any threat was to occur. He spoke up, eyed barrow as they scanned ahead, "Be careful not to get carried away. This place is influenced by dark magic, making it easy to distracted you and bring your guard down."

I felt Kian's warm hand casually press against the bend of my lower back and I tried to pretend like I hadn't noticed it. I felt him pull me to his side protectively, yet gently.

"He's right." Rick agreed.

"Gee, how are we going to get in, the line is huge. It goes around the block." Ben, Kian's second, asked as he scratched the back of his head, unsure.

This time Rosie pipped in. I was still a bit annoyed Kian had decided to bring her. "Don't worry I got us covered." She said winking at him playfully.

"I'll go first if guys like and then follow my lead?" She said stepping forward and turning to look back at Kian and then me for permission. We both nodded. She smiled appreciatingly before turning to Nick who was closest to her and sliding her arm through his as if it was the most normal thing ever.

"Shall we?" She said smiling cheerfully at him. I could tell he was surprised by her action but he didn't push her away. There was a hesitance that only I seemed to catch since I knew him so well, however it quickly disappeared and I was taken aback by his easy, non bothered reaction to her as if they were merely close friends. Instead he flashed her his signature charming, easy going smile and nodded before continuing forward together. Together they looked like such a power couple, like famous celebrity stars about to walk into a night club.

A hot knife seemed to twist in my stomach. I tried to hide the hurt and what felt like betrayal from Nick. Although I knew we weren't dating, it still felt like she was taking something from me, which only made me dislike her even more.

I glanced at Jade who I could tell knew exactly what I was thinking. She too was surprised. She shook her her slightly, probably disappointed and annoyed at Nick for letting Rosie touch him like that and him going along with it. I could see the sympathy in her eyes towards me. She knew my situation with both the males so she knew how I was probably feeling.

I took a deep breath in and swallowed trying to ignore what just happened, before doing the same as her and sliding my hand through Kian's strong arm.

Maybe she meant nothing by it and maybe she was just naturally flirty.

Or maybe she was just trying to make Kian jealous.

I looked at Kian to see if he looked jealous that Rosie had just walked off with Nick, but instead our eyes met and I was relieved to see no sign of jealousy. Instead his eyes seemed to rake my body and the short, tight red satin dress I was wearing. My breath caught in my throat and I almost forgot to breath. His eyes drank up the sight of me and I could see the flicker of lust deep in his eyes. He pulled me in tighter and I felt my self look down at his lips instinctively, wanting to suddenly kiss him and see what he taste like.

He grinned. I hadn't noticed the others had already started making their way to the front of the club and it was just us and this little moment to ourselves. He was wearing, light denim jeans, with a white shirt that clung to his body, failing to high his toned defined body underneath along with a black leather jacket making him look slightly more intimidating and dangerous in a incredibly sexy.

He leaned forward his lips close to my ears, his voice deep and challenging, yet with a hint of amusement, "Why'd you have to wear that dress tonight? You're going to having me fending off  males with you looking this good."

When he leaned back to look at my reaction I raised an eyebrow teasing him. "Why? Are you doubting my ability as the True Luna to protect myself from some mere horny human males?" I smirked mischievously at the Alpha before shaking my head at him and guiding us forward.

The butterflies seemed to flutter around endlessly in my stomach from the excitement of the growing sexual tension between Kian and I.

He let out a low deep chuckle which made my skin tingle. "I know you are, but that won't stop me from protecting what's mine."

I just laughed at him in response. With him looking this good, he'll probably be the one who will have to worry about human girls.

As our group passed the line I could feel humans who we passed giving us curious look and in awe. I could tell Kian grabbed the attention of many females as we made our way to the door and they giggle whispering to each other.

"Are they celebrities?" I heard someone whisper, with my super wolf hearing, which made me smile slightly.

When we made our way to the bouncer, Rosie was first to talk to him for us. She wore a mini black dress which made her copper coloured hair that was in its usual slick back high ponytail, stand out and almost look red in the dim light. The dress she wore accentuated her hourglass figure and made her long legs stand out. She was like a Victoria secret model and Nick looked like and famous actor from a movie along her side.

She recited all our alias name to the bouncer. He merely looked at his list but rather looked Rosie over and glanced back at us before stepping aside and letting us in. She gave him a smile before continuing forward. No wonder she wanted us to dress nicely tonight. It was our key for entering. The bouncer also probably thought that we were celebrities.

Jade and Ben stood in front of me and Kian and I didn't miss at the fact that she had her arm laced through Ben's right arm.

I smiled to myself. She and I were definitely going to have to have a girls talk about this later.

I could see what she was thinking. Ben was a hottie, I wouldn't blame her for taking a liking in him, he was just her type and for him well he was just as lucky. Jade was stunning, she was tall and elegant. Her blonde hair fell down her back in loose curls and her mini emerald dress was perfect on her making her green eyes stand out.

As we stepped inside I was greeted with the sound of loud deafening electronic music which I could feel every beat in my chest.

Coloured laser lights fill the room as they moved around in a constant pattern.

Our group stayed closer together as we made our way through the mob of sweaty bodies grinding against each other to the beat of the music. Surprisingly people seemed to instinctively move, it must be their human instincts sensing our primal aura.

I looked around observing my environment. Thankfully Rick, Kian and Nick were taller compared to normal humans so it was easy to follow them and not loose sight of them.

I notice a couple female try and touch Kian to get his attention and dance but I merely looked at them and they quickly cowered back. Kian still had his arm around my waist guiding me along the dance floor, I also noticed it tighten a couple times when human males tried to get close to me.

I could already tell Kian was giving them his best intimidating stare which could kill. I smirked internally.

It was as if we were already acting as a couple and that seemed to make me feel all giddy, but then I caught sight of Nick up ahead with Rosie and I noticed she whispered something into his ear and just like that the happy feeling was once again gone and replaced with something else. I couldn't hear what she was saying because of the loud blaring music. But to me she seemed closer to him then usual.

This place had two levels. I noticed the level upstairs seemed a bit more calmer as booths line up against the railing.

'Upstairs. There's a free booth.'  I said mind linking the group, who nodded.

There was fog everywhere and it made me cough slightly.

'The fog, it's laced with dark witch magic.' Rick said through the mind link.

'It's probably how they keep humans here under the influence. It makes them dopey so they are defenseless and most likely to forget what happens here.' Nick spoke, spite laced in his voice.

I watched as the fog danced around above us, covering the air above us like a cloud and snaking around the floor.

I had to admit the beat was catchy to move to, my hips urged me to sway and dance, but I kept moving. No distractions.

When we sat down at the booth we were able to get a full view of the dance floor from above.

"There. There's what seems to be a VIP room. I think if anyone important is here that's were they'd be. They have vampire's outside the door." Kian said pointing to one of the doors on the first level which was slightly further away from the dance floor. It was on the other side from where we were sitting.

Sure enough I could see three tall vampires that were all dressed in black suits standing outside the door, making sure no one without permission went in. They were wearing contacts to hide their red crimson eyes.

"They're bringing human girls in." Rosie pointed out under her breath sounding worried.

I watched as a group of vampires approach the door with 5 human girls. They all were extremely good looking and also looked extremely drunk as they giggled to each other, swaying as they walked. The vampires guiding them smiled darkly at each other, their eye's looked blood hungry and full of malice.

I could tell what ever was going to happen to those girls was not good.

Rick spoke up. "They're probably bringing them in for they own pleasure and to feed on."

"Or for whoever's in there. You can tell because they've hand picked some of the prettiest and they are all young looking." Jade added.

None of the girls looked frightened. They all looked rather excited knowing they were about to go into a VIP area. Some of the girls looked like they were trying their best to appear sexy as they showed cleavage and skin. One girl who had long luscious blond hair but who wore too much make up was wearing a tight mini brown leather skirt, which would expose everything if she bent just the slightest, and a laced top that basically revealed her huge breasts. She seemed to be eyeing the vampires who were with her as if she was encouraging them to look at her. The vampires only smirked pleasingly at her.

There was another girl among them who stood out to me, she was wearing a black leather jacket, white tight crop top along with a tight, sandy- cream  colored vinyl skirt. She looked extremely intoxicate as she laughed, blinking trying to keep her vision straight and also swaying with every step she took. She had straight, shiny, chestnut brown hair and long legs that could make her a model. She was the one out of the group that looked more naturally beautiful and I think that's what made her stand out more out of the group of girls. She seemed so out of it she didn't seem to register where she was being lead to.

Soon enough they disappeared through the VIP doors.

"We have to get in there." I said

"How are we going to do that without being caught? There's vampire's everywhere" Ben said.

He was right. We needed to find away in without blowing our cover. We also still didn't know who was in there.

"We will take out the vampire guarding the door and then I'll go in."

"What no!" Both Kian and Nick exclaimed.

"That's dangerous. We don't know who is in there. They could kill you." Rick said worry in his tone as he looked at me, his eyebrows knitting together in concern.

"That's the thing, they won't, the Vampire King wants me alive not dead. Plus you guys will be waiting and ready outside, I'll call you in when things start getting out of hand." I told them.

"Rick and Ben, you two keep an eye out for us. If anything happens let us know. the rest of us will go investigate inside." They nodded.

Kian and easily took out the three vampire guards at the door. The others followed my lead as we made our way inside with me going in first and Both Kian and Nick at my sides.

As we walked through the narrow door way we are lead into this large room that is dimly lit and has a large chandelier hanging in the middle of the room.

There are around 10 vampires all standing around the room talking and drinking what looks like blood out of a wine glass.

In the center of the room though, there are two very well dressed vampires sitting on a couch as the group of girls from earlier surround them. The girl who I saw earlier that was wearing barely any clothes, is even sitting on one of the vampires lap as she leans over him and he goes into kiss her neck before sinking his fangs in her. She seems too intoxicated to notice what is actually happening and instead hums in pleasure. Probably thinking it's one of his fancy kinks. I can see the other vampire watching him, smirking, as he pulls one of the other girls in to do the same thing.

I hadn't seen these vampire before but they looked like they were very powerful and rich as they wore expensive looking watches and jewllery. They were probably close friends of the vampire king meaning they knew of his whereabouts.

'Those's vampire in the middle, they're our target. We need to get to them and get them to tell us what they know about the vampire's location.' I instructed to the others as we hid behind the wall watching them.

'Oh I'm so ready for a fight! Let's take the others on.' Jade said excitedly as cracked her knuckles.

I could feel the energy radiating of the others as well as their wolves itched for a fight. I could sense it too, I could feel my muscles pumping ready to attack.

"We don't have much time before they notice us in here and send reinforcement so we need to be quick. In and out." Kian whispered said as he looked ahead, calculative, his eyes gleaming in the darkness. I nodded at him.

"Let's go."

As we ran in grabbing and attacking the closest vampires one of them shouted "Wolves!"

The room erupted in shouts and growls from both vampires and werewolves, followed by the mist of ashes.

I dodged back as a vampire went to strike me in the face but missed and instead I went under him grabbing the arm he tried to hit me with pulling it behind his back and ripping it off. He fell to the floor and I spun around before kicking his head and sending it clean off, turning him to ashes. I saw Jade run up against the wall and did a back flip as he took a vampire clean out in one sweep.

I quickly made my way across the room to the two vampires who were at the couch looking around in fear. The human girls watched me approach and quickly scurried away leaving the two men vulnerable.

They shifted back in their seats trying to get away but frozen in fear. Cowards

I held my head high, determination on my face.

"I know you two must be good friends of Eric Northman, I need you to tell me where he is hiding." I said in a low threatening voice. Both men looked at each other and then back at me, refusing to speak. I towered over both men, my canines sharpening, as they both looked up at me and I could sense their fear.

One of them spoke up trying to look braver, "We won't tell you, you bitch!" He sneered.

I looked at him my eyes glowing now. I smiled "Fine." before grabbing a large knife that had been sitting on a table stand close to me and pierced it deep into his chest.

The other vampire beside him let out a yelp as he slide away from the other vampire that turned to ash. He looked around trying to see if anyone could help him but the others had taken out all the vampire already.

I looked at him now. "Tell me where Eric Northman is hiding." I said this time my voice radiating Luna power. He tried to get up and bolt but I instinctively grabbed his neck, squeezing as I held him down. He let out a choked cough, "Fine, fine I'll tell you." He choked out and I lessened my grip on his neck slightly.

"His mansion is located two hours out of town in a place called Greensville, it's located in the center of a large forrest area around these large mountains, near the coast. Plea-please spare me, I only came here to do business."

"Buisness?" I asked confused but I noticed the gleam of a blade as he pulled it out of inside his jacket about to stab me.

"Lara watch out!" Jade called out from behind me but I was already on it. I mustered all my strength and threw him against the wall that had a moose head sticking out. The vampire let out a screech as his body pierced right threw the horns of the moose and he turned to ash.

Suddenly a deep familiar voice spoke from the other side of the room, sending shivers up my spine, "Well well, now this is a surprise. It's good to see you again Lara."

"You." I breathed out both surprised and angry to see him here.

Dorian walked out of a room that he had been in which was next to this one, followed by a group of angry vampires behind him, as they watch us.

I felt Kian, Jade, Rosie and Nick moved to stand behind me protectively. I mind linked Rick and Ben to come join us since we had company and withing seconds they appeared.

"I would appreciate it if you didn't kill my former business man. He was ready to strike quite the deal with me." He joked but his eyes revealed no humor.

His eyes skimmed all the wolves that surrounded me, before he continued, "I'm glad to see you brought your little friends here with you. If you wanted an invitation you should have told me, since you know we're good friends." His devilish laugh filled the room. Kian growled at him, his growl low, vicious and intimidating.

I saw behind Dorian two of the girls from the group that were brought in earlier, stood behind him as some of the vampire held a hand on their arm's. One of them was the same girl who I had noticed before.

It was the girl with chestnut colored hair.

She didn't look as drunk now though, I noticed there was a look in her eye's that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

Dorian started to take closer steps towards us, his eyes never leaving us. He resembled a predator playing with it's prey before killing it, trying to scare it even more.

"Let them go Dorian." I said nodding towards the human girls.

"You know I can't do that they've seen too much now." He smirked.

I was about to speak when Cody mind linked me. 'Lara you have incoming. Somethings happening outside, they look like trouble. Get out of there!"

I looked back at Dorian this time taking a step forward. "What did you do!" I growled at Dorian but he tilled his head to the side slightly confusion flickering in his eyes before glancing back at the other vampire.

When suddenly there was a loud explosion from somewhere within the building making the ground tremble slightly.

"What the hell?" Nick said under his breath.

"Are you crazy!! Stop this, there are innocent people out there, they could get hurt!" Jade shouted at him.

But the vampires in the room all looked at each other confused and uneased.

"I'm afraid to disappoint you but this isn't us." he said through gritted teeth and for once I could see worry flicker in his eyes. The Dorian who always had the situation in control and was always calm and collected looked nervous. He signaled two vampires to investigate when suddenly out of know where I noticed the chestnut colored hair girl pull out a shiny silver gun from her jacket.

"Get down!" I commanded my pack as the girl started firing at the closest vampires around her. Dorian was quick on his feet and in the blink of an eye he moved to the other side of the room shielding himself behind a large couch.

I glanced a look at the chestnut haired girl who had completely changed character from the extremely drunk girl to this super well trained fighter who was quick on her feet. Not gonna lie I was impressed and shocked. I watched her whip out a small pocket knife from under her skirt and throw it perfectly at the closest vampire who tried to attack her. It landed right between his eyes and he turned to ashes.

A loud sound of the door being broken down echoed around the room when suddenly a rain of bullets went flying around the room as a bunch of people dressed in black leather clothing, flowed through the door.

'It's Hunters!' Kian shouted through the mind link.

Everything happened so quickly.

I noticed Dorian make a dash for what seemed like an escape exit that lead outside the nightclub and disappearing into the night.

Of course he would only save himself.

I knew we were out numbered and had to leave before we got caught up in this fight between the hunter and vampires. Now was our chance since they were distracted.

"There's an exit over there, quick make a run for it. Cody is waiting for us with the car ready. Go!" I commanded them, my True Luna side out now, sensing the impending danger.

We all made a dash for it Jade going first, followed by Ben, Rosie and then Rick. They were all out the door. Another loud explosion sounded making me grip onto a nearby table as the ground shook beneath me. I glanced at Nick who was still beside me protectively, and so was Kian as he was watching our backs for any vampire or hunter who dared attack us. "What are you doing?! GO!" I ordered Nick. He looked hesitant. "I'll be right behind you." I reassured him.

But before Nick made a run for the exit one of the hunter must of noticed us and seen my glowing eyes. "Wolves!" Shouted a Hunter alerting the others. Some of them started shooting in our direction causing Kian to shift into wolf form and fight them off.

Shit

"Get the Wolfsbane guns." Ordered a man who seemed to be their leader.

'Kian we have to get out of here! '  I shouted at him through the mind link.

'Go now I'll be right behind you!' He bellowed in his Alpha tone, he voice contorted.

As Nick and I ran out the door, I stopped. Nick was already 3 metres ahead of me. I turned to see if Kian was following when suddenly I heard a loud snarl and roar. My heart stopped at the sight of him, he was being detained by at least 6 hunters as they tasered him. I watched him struggle to his feet as he fell to the ground in pain. He wasn't going to make it out alone.

"Lara what are you doing? We have to go!" Nick called out beckoning me to follow him.

I turned to look back at Nick, "Kian's in trouble. I can't leave him." I said desperation in my voice.

"There's too many of them we won't make it out."

If I left Kian who knew where they would take him or what they'd do to him, I couldn't leave him. He was my mate after all.

Lara you have to leave. Danger is coming. The True Luna spirit spoke urging me to follow Nick. The influence of the spirit was almost compelling but I knew what I had to do.

I looked at Nick and watched as his face went from confusion to having it click on what I was about to do.

"Lara, no, don't do it." He said as he started taking steps to wards me. His voice going from commanding to desperate.

"I'm sorry Nick." I watched as his eyes widened and he looked like he was about to tackle me to the ground. So instead before he could reach me I sprinted back inside the room where Kian was. I heard Nick start shouting out my name desperately and knew if I didn't stop him he'd probably drag me out the building.

Just as I made it inside I quickly turned around to see an angry Nick with his protector eyes glowing brightly. Before he could step inside I threw my hands up, towards him and the door.

I summoned my Luna powers within me and a strong gust of wind forced the exit door to slammed shut and I bolted the door lock so he wouldn't be able to come inside.

Nicks furious shouts sounded from the other side as he pounded on the door angrily telling me to open it.

I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. He was probably gonna hate me now and feel betrayed but he had to understand I couldn't leave my mate behind. If they took Kian I would mostly likely never find him again but if I was with him we had a higher chance of escaping together.

This time when I opened my eyes I felt them glowing brightly as I summoned my True Luna side to the surface and spoke with dominance that I knew Nick's wolf would not be able to defy.

'Nick I need you to go to the car and leave with the others, make sure they get home safe. Kian and I will find our way back home. Don't worry. Now as your Luna I command you, go get out of here!'  I almost growled the last part.

The banging stopped. It felt as if I could hear his wolf howling in pain.

I clench my hand. 'Cody take them home'

'Yes Luna.' He said but I knew he didn't want to leave.

This time I felt my pack howl into the night sadly as they called out to me before they took off.

I felt a bullet fly towards my head but I instinctively dogged out of its way.

I saw Kian on the floor as the hunters threw a metallic chain netting over him to stop him. His wolf looked like it was on the verge of passing out.

Somewhere deep inside me, something was triggered making my wolf wanna rip every one of their head off. It felt like fire ran threw my body. My eyes continue to glow and I felt my wolf trying to break through.

I lifted my hands in the air to summon the Luna powers within me. I felt the ground beneath me shake. The Hunters looked around confused. However one of the hunters caught my eyes as he stared straight at me. He was y'all broad- shouldered and looked around 50. He had salt and pepper coloured hair and a bit of a scruff. He seemed to radiate a leader energy by the way he stood so confidently yet there was a hard glint in his eyes. He seemed to sense that I was the one making the ground shake.

I turned to see a hunter come at me from the side but I dodged him and kicked him straight in the chest sending him flying back.

I ran towards the hunters that held Kian down and fought them off easily as I used their own weapons against themselves. I was quick on my feet as I felt the adrenaline pump making me feel stronger.

Suddenly 7 hunters came out of no where and surrounded me and an unconscious Kian. I felt my wolf threatened. There was a strange overwhelming feeling that overcame me. Like a strange uncontrollable power source building up inside my body. I clenched my fist suddenly panicked by this intense power that felt like it wanted to escape me.

The build up was becoming more and more straining on my body. And soon enough I could no longer contain it.

Release it, Lara, release it! Spoke the True Luna spirit in a strained voice.

"Restrain her!!" Shouted a hunter.

But before the hunters started firing at me, a glowing amber light emitted from within me. I opened my arms wide, letting out a cry, and released the power source. A bright light was released like a ripple. The light sent everyone of the hunters around me flying back with such force.

I collapsed to my knees panting. I took this opportunity to free Kian.

I gripped the chains netting that seemed to be coated in wolfbane and tried to pull it off him. When it wouldn't budge I summoned heat into my palms. It worked! The metal started melting away and I was able to rip it off him.

"Kian wake up, we have to leave."

Kian groans in pain and he fought to stay awake.

My relieve was long lived before I felt the back of a gun hit me hard on the temple making me fall back and see spots.

I turned to look at my attack and was surprised to see the chestnut coloured hair girl.

I was just about to shift into my wolf form and lunge at her. When I felt something hard and cold click around my neck.

A collar? What the fuck?

My hand instinctively went to my neck and a sharpe shooting pain erupted around my neck through out my body. My body trembled and shook compulsively. It felt like a hot piece of metal was wrapped around my neck.

I screamed.

It felt like it lasted for eternity but was only a couple seconds before it stopped and I was left laying on the ground panting and groaning in pain. It took me a second to realise that I had just been electrocuted by this collar.

When I looked up to see who the fuck had put this thing on my neck I saw the man with salt and pepper coloured hair. He held a control in his hand which was pointed towards me as he smiled wickedly. He seemed to enjoy seeing me in pain.

I shot him a look that said I'll- rip- your- head- off.

I turned to the side to see Kian in his now human form unconscious as a group of men carried him away.

"I wouldn't move or try anything if I were you. That collar around your neck with electrocute you if you try shift and I also have a control here with me in case you try escape." The man kept his eyes on me as he held the control up for me to see.

Distracted I failed to notice a hand, that had some sort of clothe, clasp around my mouth from behind me making me instantly drowsy but I fought to stay awake.

I heard Kian let out a viscous roar as he tore through some of the Hunters to get to me as I was now weak.

I noticed Nicks eye's where glowing green as he tried to get to me but one of the hunters put a cloth to his mouth and he instantly fell to the ground unconscious.

I was shocked at the advanced weapons the Hunters had. It wasn't like we had been told about them. Their people were ready for us and the vampires.

I fell to the ground my legs no longer able to support me as I slowly drifted into unconsciousness.

"She's the one." Said the girl with chestnut hair, who I had figured was a hunter, as she nodded towards me.

I felt someone lift up the side of my dress.

Then another different male voice spoke, "She has the mark, sir."

"Well done agent Colemen you were right. You executed your mission perfectly as always. It's unfortunate the vampires target escaped from us but we have her." Said their leader.

"Thankyou sir."

"She's coming with us and the Alpha too." He ordered, as he walked out the room.

I tried to speak but my tongue was numb, my body was going limp.

Then I was surrounded by darkness.
