Chapter 49: Watermelon rind

Life experiencesWords: 431

Independent, yet searching for answers

Empty as a discarded watermelon rind

Soil enveloping, fiber disperses

Rind disappearing into the dirt

The sky opens

As a flood devours the earth

Rind thinking it's invariant

Neglected soil the rind endued

Taking wasted nutrients

Refined and renewed

Once seen as purposeless

Giving life once storm subdued

Dedicated to: those who feel as though they are wasting away. Your life is so valuable.
