Chapter 8 of 64

Unseen

Life experiences82 words~1 min read

The mask sits thick

Atop a face so cold

Facade budging not a bit

Inside rests a void soul

Clinging to the sins of others

Written down- never forgotten

Genuine emotion gone forever

To hide an ego soft as cotton

Come find rest, worn down ego

I will greet you with kindness

Walk in- your facade, forego

With vulnerability, comes happiness

Send that old guard home

keeping watch, saving face

Unrequited love lost

The true saving grace

Freedom worthy of its cost
