Chapter 51 Fallen Into A Trap
Yelena was about to respond but Benedict stood up from his anger.
âGet out! The Stafford family does not welcome you here!â
Benedict was so angry that he had lost all sympathy for her, and a thought suddenly crossed his mind. âDivorce â I want to get a divorce!â
The word âdivorce terrified Yelena. She couldnât possibly get a divorce now!

Yelena quickly changed her stance from an aggressive one to a much weaker one, and she knelt on the floor and pleaded, âBenedict, Benedict itâs my fault! But weâve been together for more than ten years, and even if I havenât contributed much, you canât just say you want a divorce!â
Suddenly she thought of something.
âBenedict, Benedict, Iâve got it! This must be Jonathanâs scheme! He had evil intentions when he came here in the first place, so he drugged me first, then Quincy⦠Benedict you canât abandon me because of this, Iâm a victim too! If you donât believe me, letâs wait till Jonathan has been arrested and Iâll confront him!
Her determined attitude made Benedict believe her somewhat. However, he was still angry so he wanted her to leave, but didnât mention divorce anymore.
Yelena breathed a sigh of relief, and she had no choice but to leave for now.
Before leaving, she looked up at the second story uneasily and said carefully, âBenedict, donât blame Quincy, she is just an innocent young girl. She must be very upset by what happened, so you need to take time to comfort herâ¦â
This worried Benedict as well, and when she saw him frown, Yelena took the chance to ask, âCan I see Quincy for a while? Iâll leave immediately after that.â
Benedict saw that she looked both worried and cautious at the same time, and thought she was truly concerned about her daughter, and his heart softened. After all, his daughter would probably appreciate her mother comforting her at this terrible time.
âGo and see her then. Then leave after that!â
âYes, yes I will!â
Yelena scrambled upstairs, and once she was out of his view, a murderous look took over her.
Benedict, how dare you want to divorce me! Iâll get you another time!
â
Quincy was also very upset when she thought about how so many of her classmates had watched that footage of her..she really wanted to die!
The police had gone to check the CCTV, to find that the camera itself had no data because everything was stored directly on a thumb drive connected to the CCTV, and that thumb drive had gone missing.
It must have been Calistaâs doing, she thought.

When Yelena stepped into the room, she could hear Quincy sobbing and her heart immediately broke.
She had wanted to blame Quincy for making a mess out of the whole thing, but now her heart ached for her daughter.
But while she could empathize with Quincy, Quincy didnât empathize with her.
The moment Yelena stepped in, Quincy flung a pillow at her.
âItâs all your fault! If you didnât get chased out of the house by Daddy, I wouldnât have fallen into Calistaâs trap! You canât even take care of a thumb drive! Why donât you just go and die!â
Yelena wasnât angry when Quincy scolded her like this, and instead her heart went out to her and she said, âYes yes, Quincy, itâs all my fault, so donât be angry anymoreâ¦â
She walked over and tried to pat Quincy on the back, but Quincy slapped her hand away.
âHow now? I want Calista dead!â
Quincy had a murderous look on her face, and her hands gripped the bed sheet tightly, as if she was strangling Calistaâs neck..
Yelena was also angry now. âI want her dead too! If Iâd known she would become like this, I would have strangled her to death when she was young!â
âWhatâs the use of saying all this now?!â Quincy glared at Yelena. âGo look for Wyatt, and when heâs arrested Jonathan, force him to give a false statement!â
Yelena blinked a few times. âYou want Jonathan to accuse Calista?â
She shook her head, âNo no no, I donât want Jonathan to be caught! Heâs very easily swayed once heâs been caught, I fear he would tell on us.â
âAre you stupid?!â
Quincy continued ranting, âAll Jonathan wants is money! You just give him money and tell him that if he pushes everything on Calista, heâd just be convicted as an accomplice and go to jail for a few years, and heâll still have plenty of money when he comes out. If he refuses to listen, then weâll accuse him of and he can spend the rest of his life in jail!â
They were indeed like mother and daughter â even their thought process was the same.
Yelena was quite persuaded, but she was still a little hesitant, âItâs not quite enough to have only one witness testify against herâ¦â
Quincy refused to listen to any of this.

She shrieked, âI DONâT CARE!You can create evidence! Calista has left my reputation in tatters, Iâm going to ruin hers tool/How can I become a laughing stock while she gets to happily marry Mr. Kallum? HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN?!â

transfer school, ok?â
âIâm not transferring!â Quincyâs expression grew cold. âIf you canât get this done, Iâll get it done! I have confidence in making sure Calista never walks with her head high in school!â
Yelena had some reservations, but seeing that Quincy was still extremely angry, she didnât dare to say
anymore.
âThen Iâll go back to my parentsâ place firstâ¦â
âWhat do you mean by youâre going back?â Quincy was ready to explode again.
âCalista is like some madwoman now, if you leave the house, what am I going to do if she tries to get me. again?â
Yelena sighed. âBut your fatherâ¦
âI have an ideal
After some time had passed. Benedict suddenly heard Yelena wail very loudly and he quickly ran over to check on them, to find that Quincy was running a fever and speaking deliriously.
âDaddy!â
When she saw Benedict, Quincy started crying piteously, âDaddy, donât chase Mummy out! Callie is trying to get me, youâre not at home either, so only Mummy can protect me!â
Benedict glared at Yelena because his first thought was that Yelena must have badmouthed Calista in front of Quincy.
But when he thought about how sweet and obedient Quincy was, he couldnât bring himself to believe that Quincy had masterminded this, and thought that she must have been a victim of Jonathan, so he quietly said, âQuincy. Callie is your sister, how can you say such things about her? About todayâ¦Daddy will help you settle it.â
âItâs Callie! Itâs her!â Quincy cried miserably as she grabbed Benedictâs clothes. âCallie said she felt a bit. drunk and so I helped her upstairs. After that she gave me a glass of water to drinkâ¦and that happened! 1 might as well die now! How am I supposed to face anyone now?â
Quincy plopped herself on the bed and sobbed uncontrollably. Benedict had doted on her for so many years after all, so when he heard this, he asked seriously, âAre you telling me the truth?â
Yelena calmly spoke on her behalf, âDo you think she would lie to you? You think Quincy would land herself in trouble and then try to frame Calista? Quincy has been so kind to her but sheâs been treated like this just because theyâre stepsisters! Look at how sheâs caused so much harm to Quincy! I sheâs angry, she can just attack me! Quincy is only seventeen, what does she know?â
Both mother and daughter continued to cry and push their point at the same time, and Benedict slowly felt the fury rising inside him, and he angrily shouted, âThis ungrateful daughter!â
