Chapter 6: Chapter Six

He Came Back To Make Me His.Words: 18145

We had sat down at the miniature dining table, with me sitting in front of Stephen so that the guys couldn’t kick each other, leaving Trevor in front of Debbie. The silence was torturous and so I decided to try and cut the tension by speaking.

“So…how’s business at Carlson and Zane going?” I questioned, picking up one of the glasses filled with lemonade. I was glad that Debbie had remembered that I didn’t drink alcohol, since it saved me the trouble of reminding her.

“It’s fine.” He replied shrugging, and watching Trevor who was texting someone on his phone.

“How’d you know where he works?” Trevor whispered in my ear, his eyes fixed on Stephen.

“I went to see her at work, that’s how she knows,” Stephen interrupted as I opened my mouth only to have to close it.

“I don’t think I was talking to you Spencer,” Trevor retorted, making me smile slightly.

“Its Stephen hunch back of Notre Dam,” Stephen corrected, placing both elbows on the table.

“What did you call me?” Trevor hissed his face turning into the scary face that I had seen in the taxi when Stephen had first appeared. Red and angry. I quickly placed my hand on his chest, saying things to calm down and in the corner of my eye, saw Stephen smirking.

Ever since he had been here, I hadn’t seen him smile, not once and that was always what had got my attention back in college. Thinking of something to distract Trevor as they argued fiercely, I placed my lips gently on his, attempting to pull away straight after, only for him to pull me even closer, easily parting my lips and slipping his tongue into my mouth causing me to moan in surprise. This seemed to urge him on as he attempted to deepen the kiss whilst pulling me on top of his lap. A cough snapped me back to my senses, causing me to pull myself away from a smirking Trevor, making me smile in embarrassment and horrification.

“How did you get on top his lap? Actually, don’t tell me. Since Trevor already has some of your lip gloss on his lips, I could only guess that you guys were making out. Sorry you had to see that Stephen.” Debbie apologised, setting our plates on the table in front of us. I quickly removed myself from Trevor’s lap, playfully glaring at him when tried to hold me in my place. I tried my hardest not to let my gaze fall onto Stephen, feeling the awkwardness from what had just happened, but I couldn’t lie and say that I hadn’t enjoyed it. I mean Trevor was my fiancé and I loved him so I shouldn’t feel guilty anyway. Dinner went by slowly and Debbie’s freshly ordered Chinese was delicious as usual.

“I’ll help you clean up,” I insisted, standing up and ignoring her protests as I picked up my plate and Trevor’s, narrowing my eyes at him as I felt his fingers slowly trailing up my bare legs. Chuckling, making him look sexy as always, he withdrew his hand and leaned back, watching my every movement as Stephen was doing to him.

“I’ll help you with the rest of the plates,” Stephen suggested, standing up and collecting both his and Debbie’s plate before I could protest. I saw Trevor’s teeth clench in the corner of my eye as he glared at Stephen who had a small smile on his lips.

“Thanks both of you,” Debbie thanked us, a cute smile on her face causing her dimples to deepen as her hazel eyes glowed with happiness. Picking up the plates with one hand, Stephen brushed a loose blond strand of hair behind Debbie’s face making her blush terribly.

“I’ll be right back,” Stephen purred, heading towards the kitchen, taking lead. Annoyed, I followed behind him and placed the plates in the sink, barging him out of the way.

“No need to be jealous Melanie.” Stephen chuckled evilly.

“I wasn’t jealous when that guy was eating your face off…How could you even enjoy that? That scene was disgusting.” He added rudely. Shooting him a dirty look, I turned on the tap and began scrubbing the dishes, trying to block him out.

“I could enjoy it because I love him and that is a way that we show each other our love,” I stated, answering his question over the water.

“I bet you loved me more,” Stephen whispered into my ear as he pressed his body against mine from behind, holding my waist with his large hands, firmly.

“Get your hands off me,” I growled through clenched teeth, trying to pay no attention to the tingles that I could feel enter my body from his touch.

“I know you don’t want me to,” Stephen murmured, his lips brushing against my soft skin. Turning around in his grip, I gave him a fake smile and then pushed against his steel hard chest with all of my might, only causing him to stumble backwards slightly. However, I wasn’t surprised, since he had always been strong.

“Stay away from me and certainly don’t touch me Stephen,” I warned angrily

“You used to love me touching you, all over your body,” Stephen reminded me, smirking at the idea.

“Exactly, used to, so get that into your thick pale head. I don’t love you anymore, I love Trevor and we’re getting married very soon.” I informed

“You’re my soul mate, so I know you’ll be running back to me sooner or later. Just know that I’ll be waiting,” Stephen retorted, his eyes narrowing slightly, probably due to what I had said.

“This soul mate shit again Stephen? Please get over yourself. Why can’t you go and annoy all of the other girls that fall at your feet and leave me alone?!” I wondered, trying to keep my voice down

“You’re really stupid if you don’t know the answer Melanie. I l---,” Stephen started, making my heart swell as I waited for the words I had wanted to hear again, since forever, only to have them cut off when Trevor came into the kitchen. My heart sunk sadly, but I was also happy that I was being rescued from the conversation.

What would have happened if he had said the words that I had been longing for since college?

“You don’t have to do the dishes Mel, Debbie kinds of wants us gone so that she can spend some time with him,” Trevor informed me, making my heart sink ever so slightly once again. If he loved me, why was he here as Debbie’s date in the first place? He was obviously lying to me.

“Alright, I’m coming. Let me just dry my hands,” I replied, watching his eyes move towards Stephen and then with a nod, leave the kitchen. Looking at Stephen myself, I shook my head at him and did as I had intended to do, wiping my hands with a cloth on the table.

“Have a nice time with Debbie, Stephen,” I spat, pulling my wrist out of his grip as soon as he tried to hold me back and without looking back, I said goodnight to Debbie and left her place.

“Are you alright?” Trevor asked, holding my hand as he led us to his bedroom at his apartment.

“Yeah, I’m just a little tired,” I sighed, feeling once again, emotionally drained.

“Does that mean we can’t finish what we started a couple hours ago?” Trevor whined, turning around and engulfing me in a tight embrace.

“Sadly, yes,” I answered, only to feel his hand already trailing beneath my skirt and rubbing my soft spot just below my core. My arms around his neck tightened as I moaned softly, no longer feeling tired or annoyed. I was with my fiancé and he knew exactly what to do to make me happy and allow me to forget about my day.

“Are you sure you’re too tired?” Trevor whispered huskily in my ear as his thumb continued to rub against my skin.

“No, let’s finish this,” I breathed before pressing my lips hard against his as he chuckled at me.

The next morning I was dressed in fresh underwear after taking an early shower and walked over to the bed where a naked Trevor was still curled up under the quilts. Slowly pulling the quilt off his head, I planted a soft kiss on his lips before shaking him awake.

“Time to wake up sleepy head,” I whispered as his eyes peeled open slowly. Walking away from him, I made my way to the kitchen which was slightly larger than mine and decided to make us some delicious breakfast since I felt in such a great mood. My mind absentmindedly drifted back to the good times that I had with Stephen and for once in four years, I didn’t try to push them away.

Stephen had insisted on me watching one of his football games and finally convinced, I pulled Jennifer and Jasmine with me, so that I wouldn’t have to see Gabrielle.

Gabrielle.

She had always had a thing for Stephen and had bullied me for it, since she was in his year, whilst I wasn’t. I didn’t think that two years really meant anything, but obviously, Gabrielle did.

“Remember to keep your eyes on me and no other guys,” Stephen insisted as I greeted him right before his game. We had now been together for six months and I still hadn’t watched him play. Mean, I know. But I was a tad bit scared to watch and listen to everyone praising and talking about my boyfriend, so I refused to go.

“Yes sir,” I joked, saluting him as Brandon walked past laughing at us.

“I mean it,” Stephen stated, pulling me dangerously close to him, causing my heart beat to increase rapidly as it always did when he touched me. My mouth failed me and the intensity of Stephen’s dark eyes made my mind go blank.

“Thank you. Now I’ll see you later Melanie,” Stephen smirked, giving me a peck on my lips, causing my lips to tingle slightly before he let me go, making some space between us.

“Good luck,” I managed to say with a large smile.

“I don’t need luck, I have you don’t I?” Stephen asked heading towards the changing rooms.

“Corny!” I yelled after him, making him chuckle.

The game began and the cheerleaders ran out screaming, with the college team walking and laughing behind them. It wasn’t hard to spot the sexiest guy on the team, from my opinion and so I had a feeling that watching him for the whole game wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

“Stop drooling,” Jennifer joked, nudging me in my arm.

“Hey! I wasn’t drooling. I was just…admiring,” I defended

“With you mouth open,” Jasmine added making them both laugh again as I rolled my eyes. Stephen seemed to be scanning the crowd and somehow, out of the hundreds of people, his eyes found mine and with a wink, he threw his helmet on and ran towards his coach.

“Oh my gosh! Stephie just winked at me!” Gabrielle squealed, sitting a couple rows down.

“I know! He’s totally into you and not that slutty girlfriend of his! You should speak to him after the game, if you know what I mean,” Her best friend, Rebecca suggested. Ignoring them, I diverted my eyes towards the game as it started. I wasn’t sure exactly what position Stephen played, but I definitely wasn’t a stranger to the rules of the game.

“Woo!! You go Stephen!” I screamed louder than any other girl, when he scored the first goal after ten minutes.

“Woo! Sexy ass hunny!” I heard another girl scream. This was why I didn’t want to come I thought.

“I don’t know why she’s screaming, he probably can’t hear her anyways,” Gabrielle snorted annoyingly, as I screamed for the hundredth time.

“That girl really has a problem. She’s just upset that she’s no where as attractive as you,” Jennifer informed me, making me smile at her kindness.

“What was that?” Gabrielle spat, spinning around and standing up to look at us.

“I don’t think I was talking to you Gabby,” Jennifer retorted, pretending to be confused.

“But you were talking about her. I guess you were too scared to say it to her face then,” Rebecca chimed in

“Excuse me, but I don’t think you were asked for your input,” Jasmine stated, standing up so that it was two against two. Not in the mood, I tried to zone out what they were saying, keeping my eyes on my boyfriend who was running wildly on the field.

“Look, the ugly bitch can’t even talk for herself,” Gabrielle sneered, immediately causing my eyes to snap towards her. Her black hair was in a messy bun and the make up she plastered on her face made her blue eyes even more noticeable but I didn’t really like the white top and super short shorts she chose to wear. It wasn’t my style at all.

“Are you talking to me?” I questioned, trying not to get angry, in case she wasn’t even speaking about me.

“Did I stutter? I don’t see anyone else as ugly as you. So yeah, I’m talking to you,” Gabrielle replied, trying to be smart.

“One,” I began, standing up as both of my friends sat down in sync, smirking at the scene in front of them.

“Don’t call me an ugly bitch, you unpleasant, nasty piece of work. Two, grow up and find a guy who loves you and not me and three sit your ass down before I make you. See, I’m not as kind as you think I’d be when you press my buttons and sweetie pie, you just pressed all of mine.” I explained, smiling sweetly and staring her in her eyes as she glared at me and gasped when I called her names.

“I dare you to make me sit down,” She challenged.

“Don’t step in the kitchen if you can’t take the heat,” I sung, warning her.

“Who said we’re in a kitchen retard?” Rebecca scoffed

“Shut it idiot,” Jennifer growled

“Too chicken to do it Melanie?” Gabrielle continued and just as I was about to jump her, I was pulled back by Danny, who I hadn’t even realised was there. He was one of the quiet guys that was in Jasmine’s class and she had had a crush on him since she set eyes on him.

“She’s not worth it,” He whispered, his eyes watching her as she smiled and sat back down.

“She’s such a man! Who fights at a football game except guys?” Rebecca commented and if Danny hadn’t kept his grip on my arms, I would have ripped her to shreds as well.

“You can let go of me now,” I mumbled, struggling against his strong hold. He slowly let go of me and I took my seat again.

“Thanks Danny, I don’t think we’d have been able to hold her back,” Jasmine thanked him

“You don’t think you’d have been able to hold her back, or weren’t gonna try?” Danny asked, raising an eye brow

“Fine, I wouldn’t have bothered. I wanted to see her fight!” Jasmine laughed, making me and Danny shake our heads.

The game finally ended and eager to see Stephen, I almost fell down the stairs as I made my way to the changing rooms to wait outside with the girls.

“Calm down Mel! He’s not gonna disappear,” Jennifer chuckled, making me slow down a tiny bit.

Only a tiny bit.

When we got there, I stopped dead in my tracks, causing Jasmine to curse as she collided into my back.

“What the hell is he doing?” Jennifer whisper-shouted attempting to approach him.

“Wait,” I hissed, pulling her back. I wanted to see what he was going to do. Gabrielle seemed to have beaten me to him and had her hands all over his chest, moving up and down. Stephen’s eyes were fixed on her, but his hands stayed by his side as he looked uncomfortable, seeming to wait for her to stop. His eyes snapped towards mine and he seemed to breathe out a sigh of relief. His hand brushed hers off his chest as he headed to me, clean, dry and ready to leave. Glowering at me, she stomped off and was met by her best friend on the way.

“So, did you enjoy the game? Did you think I was good?” Stephen asked hopeful as he scratched his head nervously.

“Aww, Stephie’s nervous,” Jennifer mocked, stroking his cheek, only to have it slapped away.

“I’m not nervous, I’m just wondering what she’s thinking,” Stephen defended, glaring at her.

“I hated it and sorry to say it, but you were shit,” I stated with a straight face. Stephen’s face fell and I had never seen him look so hurt in my life. I couldn’t contain my laughter and I and the girls busted out laughing.

“Your face. Aw, he was so sad,” Jasmine laughed.

“I’m so sorry. I just wanted to see how you’d react. The game was okay but you were great, awesome, brilliant, stup---,” I complimented, getting cut off by a sweet, slow kiss. My hand instantly wrapped around his neck, keeping his lips against mine for only a second longer.

“We’ll just leave now,” Jennifer muttered before quickly pulling Jasmine and running away

“My heart was actually shattered then.” Stephen whispered against my lips, his dark eyes burning into mine.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know you valued my opinion that much,” I apologised as he put some space between us and threw an arm around my waist as we began to head out of the stadium.

“How could I not? You are my girlfriend Melanie,” Stephen reminded me, the words sounding like music to my ears, just because of the sincere way he had said them. He softly pushed me against the brick wall and pressed his body tightly against mine, taking my breath away.

“You’re my girlfriend,” He mumbled, pressing his lips against mine again. His tongue easily slipped inside my mouth, making my heart melt as my whole body burned with need and desire of him. I pulled his hair, making him moan and was thankful that everyone had already left the stadium a while ago. His lips left mine and began to leave hot kisses along my neck and his hands moved all over my body, pushing me to my limit of what I could handle as I began to breath heavily and moaned softly into him.

“Stephen…stop,” I moaned, my voice shaking with lust.

“I’m sure you don’t want me to, you love me touching you,” Stephen commented huskily, making my heart beat even faster.

“Of course I love you touching me, but not here,” I argued, only then realising what I had said. His hands immediately froze, one on my butt and one of my lower back as his head moved back up, above mine.

“You actually admitted it,” Stephen chuckled, his voice making me shiver.

“I’ll never forget that you know,” Stephen smiled widely, the sight making me shyly smile back.

“Please do,” I groaned, feeling stupid and I looked down.

“Never,” Stephen assured me, lifting my head up and then kissed me once more.

But I never actually thought that he’d remember, I thought sourly, shaking my head as I stirred the eggs.
