She woke up before him in the morning and carefully removed the hands and feet wrapped around her.
This man was so overbearing even when he slept.
As soon as she opened the door, Annie jumped over, âMommy!â
Olive Steele shushed her, âKeep your voice down. Your father is still sleeping.â
The little girl immediately understood, but then she mocked under her breath, âWhat a slacker.â
Olive Steele smiled and closed the door. At this moment, Mrs. Steele was busy in the kitchen and Mr.
Steele was feeding the fish in the balcony. She looked at Chloe Malanâs room. It seemed that she didnât sleep in last night. She called the little girl, bent over, and whispered, âThere are two lazybones upstairs. Do you want to fetch them up?â
âYup.â the little girl replied enthusiastically and ran out.
Chloe Malan didnât sleep in and there was no noise upstairs. It seemed that they made a great progress. Olive Steele smiled and turned around only to bump into someone. The man said, âHow could you teach my daughter mischief early in the morning?â
âCanât I?â she asked.
âOf course you can!â Alan Hoyle said helplessly.
Annie stomped her feet and soon, the door was knocked loudly. Aoba Hoyle woke up from his dream.
What a party pooper. He really didnât want to get up.
He didnât want to open the door either for fear of waking the woman in his arms.
In fact, he held her in his arms and slept quietly all night. She promised to be his girlfriend. He was afraid of behaving badly toward her. When he woke up and saw her lying quietly in his arms, his heart melt down.
They didnât know how she opened the door. They only felt a gust of wind and a small shadow jumped up on the bed. Then, she made a loud roar of cheers.
Chloe Malan always slept soundly in the morning. She was not used to getting up early unless there was something she had to do. Annie jumped in and out of the bed, into her arms, and tried to wake her up.
âMommy Chloe, Mommy Chloe, the sun is shining bright outside!â
Aoba Hoyle snatched her away, âWho told you to come up?â
He really wanted to beat her little ass.
The little girl sipped her lips and covered her face pretending to cry, âMommy Chloe, uncle is so fierce. I kindly invite him for breakfast, but he doesnât welcome meâ¦â
Chloe Malan took the little girl over and glared at him, âYou scared the baby early in the morning.â
When did he scare her? It was the little girl who came uninvited. One was a woman with a bad temper and the other one was a devil in the mill. The old saying was true that it was difficult to raise them.
He could only smile looking at them.
His dream was disturbed. It was impossible to come back to sleep again.
Annie rubbed her hand on Chloe Malanâs belly, âUncle, is Mommy Chloe going to have a baby? You slept together last night.â
They couldnât believe what they just heard.
Chloe Malan felt awkward.
Aoba Hoyle, however, was happy that he hugged the little girl and kissed her, âBaby, tell me, do you want a little sister or little brother in Mommy Chloeâs belly?â
âOf course! I want to have a playmate. I promise I will protect her.â Annie said sweetly.
âYou wish!â Chloe Malan kicked Aoba Hoyle off the bed.
âDonât you see Annie? Sheâs cute, no? We can have children ourselves. Donât you like babies?â Aoba Hoyle felt wronged.
In the past, he always scoffed at the idea of having children, but now, it seemed that having children would make their relationship more stable.
âAoba, premarital pregnancy, Olive can do that but not me. Sorry, but I wonât entertain that fantasy. If anything, why donât you take care of mother first?â Chloe Malan got out of the bed and locked herself in the bathroom.
Annie crouched on the bed and looked at him sympathetically, âMommy Chloe seems angry.â
He pinched her face, âHappy now?â
Chloe Malan came out after washing. With chin slightly raised, she waved to Annie, âAnnie, letâs go.
Just ignore him.â
âLittle Chloe, how can you leave me alone? You canât do this to me. Iâm your man.â Aoba Hoyle complained.
âCall me big sister.â
âBig sister? That makes you sound old.â he replied as he reached out for her hand.
She squinted her brows, âYou wonât call me big sister, but youâre okay with calling me auntie?â
âCome on. Little Chloe sounds nice.â Aoba Hoyle wouldnât waste time being intimate with Chloe Malan.
âUncle, youâre such a flirt.â Annie said out of blue.
The little girl was obviously helping her second mother to tease him. Aoba Hoyle wanted to tell her to talk less. Annie was getting more and more presumptuous because she got Chloe Malanâs backing.
But, he dared not do that. He wouldnât do that around Chloe Malan. Also, there was another man who would settle account with him if he ever did that. Poor Aoba Hoyle, he had no one helping him.
âWhatever, but donât blame me if you canât go downstairs.â Chloe Malan bent down and picked Annie up.
Annie reached out her hand and patted Aoba Hoyleâs head, âUncle, you should obey Mommy Chloe.
Just call her big sister and she will feed you just fine.â
She really thought that he was a foodie. He looked at the little girl, âYou canât touch peopleâs head like that. Does no one teach you that?â
Annie pursed her lips, âWhat about womanâs waist? If you donât let me touch your head, I wonât let you touch Mommy Chloeâs waist.â
âSheâs my woman. Why canât I hold her?â
âYouâre my uncle, but youâre still clueless about children. You should be ashamed.â Annie blurted out.
âAlright, Little Brother, call me Big Sister and I will invite you for breakfast. If you donât call me that, you will be ignored.â Chloe Malan patted him on the head like he was her pet.
