Chapter 116 Elva, I Want to Hear the Truth
âWe were in the underground parking lot of the hospital.â
Upon seeing this news, Elvaâs face became extremely ugly.
She was very afraid that they would come straight to her, and if they bumped into someone from the
Friedan family, it would be a disaster.
Elva was both angry and anxious.
Finally, she found an excuse and entered the elevator.
Sheldon and Laverne were standing at the door of the elevator when Elvaâs face immediately fell upon
seeing them. âDidnât I say not to come over?â she said.
Seeing them, Elva was furious.
Laverne walked over anxiously and said, âI heard that Emily blocked a vase for you and you ended up
in the hospital. I was worried about your health, so I came to see you. If youâre okay, then Iâll feel
relieved.â
âIâm fine,â Elva turned her face away and said coldly, âYou all should leave quickly. The Friedan family is
at the hospital, and I donât want them to see you.â
Laverne nodded repeatedly, âI know, I just wanted to see if there was anything we could do to help
youâ¦â
Upon hearing the word âhelp,â Elva became increasingly impatient: âYou canât help me, just leave, and
preferably never see me again.â
A trace of anger appeared on Sheldonâs face, and he was about to say a

few words to her when Laverne stopped him: âAlright, alright, letâs go. Donât be angry, itâs not good for
your health.â
When the two of them turned around and left, Elva suddenly called out to them, âWait.â
Thinking about the phone on Claudiaâs body, she squinted and asked, âDo you know any powerful
thieves?â
Laverne looked confused.
Sheldon quickly said, âYes.â
There was a habitual thief in their village who had been in prison several times, but his nature remained
unchanged.
Ãlva sneered, âHelp me steal something.â
âSeraphinaâs phone.â
Emilyâs phone was on Claudia, and there was no guarantee that there wouldnât be any harmful
information inside.
She dared not ask Rosalie for help again in such matters, and she herself was unwilling to directly
engage with such people. The driver was a cautionary tale, as he had left behind some evidence even
after his death.
Although Sheldon didnât know what had happened, he quickly agreed, âIâll take care of this. He
happens to work in Wyvernport, Iâll go find him tomorrow.â
âI will go and find it today,â Elva interrupted him, âTomorrow I must get that phone.â
This matter could not be delayed any longer, lest the night grew longer and dreams multiplied.
Elva pushed the wheelchair onto the elevator from the underground parking lot. As soon as the
elevator doors opened, she came face to face with Waldron.
Waldron put out the cigarette in his hand and walked toward her. âDidnât you say you were going to the
bathroom? Isnât it downstairs?â
Elvaâs heart was pounding like a drum, and she was so nervous that her palms were sweating. âThere
are too many people on this floorâs restroom, Iâll go downstairs.â
Waldronâs deep gaze fell meaningfully on her as he asked, âTell me, how did your mother get injured in
the end?â
Elvaâs every move was so unusual, her words could deceive others but not him.
âIt was to help me blockâ¦
Waldron interrupted her, âElva, I wanted to hear the truth.â
âWhy was Rosalie there? What did Mom go to find you for? Why is it so coincidental that the recording
phone also broke?â Waldronâs lips curled with sarcasm. âNext time, it wonât be another case of a stolen
phone, will it?â
Upon hearing this, Elvaâs face turned pale and she suddenly became speechless.
Seeing Waldron staring at her, Elvaâs eyes welled up with tears and she said with a sense of grievance,
âWaldron, what do you mean by saying this? She is my mother, do I need to lie?â
âWe have been siblings for so many years, you loved and cared for me, and I would never hurt anyone
to hurt you.â
âI donât blame you,â Waldron said lightly, âI just donât trust Rosalie.â
âDo you know that she hired someone to kill me?â
Elva was startled all over and stammered, âI know.â
âThen why were you still on good terms with her?â
âShe told me that Claudia framed her.â
Waldron sneered, âWhatever she says is true? Let me tell you now, she hired someone to hit me. If you
consider me as your brother, you should cut off all contact with her in the future.â
Elvaâs head rang, and her blood gradually froze.
This meant that she and Rosalie never had any contact until they died.
Actually, if she could really get rid of Rosalie, she really didnât want to have any dealings with this
woman, but they both held each otherâs handles in their handsâ¦
Waldron raised an eyebrow and said, âWhat, unwilling?â
Elva gradually found her voice again, âHow could I not be willing? Since she dared to hurt Waldron, I
will never have any contact with her again. It turns out that this woman has been deceiving me all
along.â
Seeing Elva gritting her teeth, Waldronâs eyes darkened, and he ultimately didnât say anything more.
Elva may not have liked Claudia, but she has always been good to her family. He believed that she
wouldnât dare and wouldnât actually hurt her mother, but Rosalie might.
âWhat you say better be true,â Waldron glanced at her dismissively, âIf I find out youâre in cahoots with
Rosalie, Iâll break your other leg.â
Upon hearing these words, Elvaâs face turned pale.
This statement serves as both a warning and an explanation.
In the ward, Thomas woke up and saw Emily lying on the bed. Tears streamed down his face as he
said, âTake her home. The doctor said there is still a chance for her to wake up. Bring her back, I talk to
her every day. She wonât have the heart to leave me behind.â
The Friedan family and Claudia, the three brothers, all had tears in their eyes and lowered their heads.
âInstead of seeing her lying in bed like this, I started to miss the way she looked when she was sick and
not yet recovered. At least back then, she was still lively, energetic, and able to speak, unlike nowâ¦â
Thomas wiped away his tears and started rambling on and on.
Claudiaâs eyes were very red, and she continued to wipe Emilyâs hands and face.
Ervin took the towel from her hand and said, âLet me do it, you go rest first.â
Knowing that she was pregnant, she stayed up all night, which caused significant damage to her body.
Claudia nodded, she was indeed tired, and her stomach ached slightly when she learned that her
mother had become a vegetable.
After leaving the ward, she paused for a moment, thought for a while, and walked toward the doctorâs
office across the hall.
In the office, Hugh was patiently explaining the medical history and issues to the patient.
After seeing off the last patient, Hugh let out a sigh and prepared to
rest his eyes. However, at that moment, a crisp voice calling âDr. Darwinâ suddenly made him open his
eyes wide.
There stood a woman wearing a white cotton padded jacket at the entrance. The loose robe couldnât
hide her graceful figure, and the fur lining around the collar made her face appear even more delicate,
stunning, and eye-catching.
âMs. Lloydâ¦â he chuckled, âShouldnât I change how I address you? It should be Ms. Friedan now.â
Claudiaâs lips curled slightly: âIt doesnât matter, call me whatever you
want.
âHow come, do you have something to ask me again today?â He glanced at the time on his watch, âBut,
itâs my working hours now, Iâm sorry I canât chat.â
âDr. Darwin,â Claudia said with a cold expression and a cool voice, âLast time I asked you about your
relationship with Rosalie, you said there was no relationship.â
âWhat about Pamela Cole?â
Pamela was a caregiver.
The smile on Hughâs face gradually disappeared.
