Chapter 12 DNA Test With Whom?

Claudia said the word “abandon” with ease, but it showed her sadness.

Waldron felt bad to hear it.

Waldron wanted to ask about details. He didn’t think that he would make Claudia sad.

Waldron smiled stiffly and said, “Actually, I can look for your family for you. Perhaps they also have a

hard time.”

Claudia said, “Maybe.”

If it hadn’t been for Eleanor’s dying wish, Claudia had no intention of looking for those people. And

since Claudia was thrown next to a trash can, it proved that those people had never wanted her to live

in the first place.

“If there’s anything I can do to help, just say it. We’ve been looking for my sister for years. We’re more

familiar with the processes than normal people, and we have more connections.”

Waldron said that with a smile and ease, but he looked serious.

Rosalie took care of everything for Cicely carefully, but Rosalie found that it was too tiring.

Recently, Rosalie had seen Waldron a few times in the hospital with a file folder. Out of curiosity,

Rosalie had asked a top private investigator to do an investigation.

Although the deposit took around 150 thousand dollars, the results finally came.

“Let me guess. Is Claudia pregnant?”

Rosalie couldn’t think of other reasons why Waldron came to the hospital.

It could only be that Claudia was pregnant.

The investigator asked with confusion, “Pregnant? No, that’s not it.”

“No?” Rosalie looked stunned. She thought she had it right and didn’t expect anything else. Rosalie

asked, “If Claudia is not pregnant, then what is it?”

Rosalie couldn’t think of other reasons why Waldron came to the hospital so many times with a file

folder.

“It’s about a DNA test. Waldron asked the hospital to do a DNA test.”

“What did you say?”

Rosalie was stunned. Her phone almost fell off her hand.

“Ms. Clayton, this is what I found out. Waldron asked for a DNA test.”

After receiving the confirmation, Rosalie was silent.

“Who did Waldron test against?”

“We couldn’t find out about that. Waldron kept it a secret. The hospital was good with keeping privacy

as well. My people told me that it was a DNA test and that they couldn’t find anything else.”

Rosalie thought, “Can it be that it is about the lost girl from the Friedan family? It doesn’t have anything

to do with Claudia!

That lost girl cannot be Claudia.”

Rosalie sneered. It was more likely that Claudia and Waldron were cheating.

Rosalie did not believe that she wouldn’t find proof that Claudia and Waldron were cheating.

The investigation result disappointed Rosalie. If Claudia was pregnant with Waldron’s baby, Edmond

would definitely give up on Claudia. No one could accept being a father to someone else’s baby.

If Waldron found his sister, then Rosalie had to give Elva a call. Elva Friedan was the adopted daughter

of the Friedan family.

That would be big news. Rosalie had to do Elva the favor.

Rosalie found Elva’s number and called her.

“Hi, Elva. Waldron has found someone from somewhere and done a DNA test with her. Do you think it

could be your sister?”

Elva was annoyed, and she said, “How many times have I told you not to call me Elva? They do that

test so many times a year. They are disappointed all the time. Don’t tell me something that is not

settled.”

“Elya… Elvie, Waldron seems confident this time. I think it can be

real…”

“So what? Even if she comes back, Dad and my brothers will still love me most. What can she do? And

if you have the time to be nosy about me, why don’t settle your things? I’ve heard gossip about you

while I am overseas. Didn’t you say that you can handle Edmond? How come it ended with Waldron

handling it?”

Hearing that, Rosalie was angry.

“It was Waldron making it up.”

“I’ll hang up if there’s nothing else.”

Then Elva hung up.

Rosalie was so angry that she almost dropped her phone on the floor.

“What’s so great about you, Elva? You’re just an adopted daughter.”

Elva’s name contained the Friedan family’s expectations of their fourth child, which was the reason why

Elva had never liked the name.

However, Rosalie looked down on Elva and didn’t want to change the way she called Elva.

Rosalio was angry but couldn’t lash out at Elva. Although Elva was just adopted, she was doted on by

the Friedan family.

Besides, there would be a project coming that the Clayton family and the Friedan family would be

working together on. The Clayton family would be stronger. Then those old shareholders couldn’t say

anything if Rosalie were to marry Edmond.

Thinking of that, Rosalie was not that angry anymore.

Claudia took her ID and other materials and waited for Edmond outside the Lamont’s manor the next

day.

It was the day that Claudia and Edmond were getting a divorce.

After Edmond hung up his call in the house, he saw Claudia talking toward the house as he turned,

Claudia was holding the file folder and walking with ease.

At the thought of her relationship with Waldron, Edmond was anxious, and he unconsciously clicked on

his work account.

His assistant sent a message: “Mr. Lamont, The people in the company who oppose you are the same

people who supported Andrew before.”

Andrew Lamont was Edmond’s cousin. Andrew had been coveting the Lamont Group.

Those people had been waiting to catch Edmond at fault.

The rumor that Waldron spread worked.

Edmond put away his phone.

Edmond knew Claudia was waiting for him outside.

If their divorce was official, Claudia would be free. Then Claudia’s next step would be to be with

Waldron.

At the thought of Claudia being intimate with that kind of person, Edmond was furious.

Edmond shut down his phone and just lay in bed. He closed his eyes and just wanted to sleep.

Then a plume of smoke came in from outside the room.

Claudia was standing outside the house and couldn’t get hold of Edmond.

Then came the alarm and cry for help from the house.

There was a fire.

Claudia was stunned and looked suddenly at the people in the house.

Claudia rushed into the house in a hurry, stopping a maid who was running out the door. She asked, “Is

Edmond up there?”

Claudia remembered that Edmond was so afraid of fire that he didn’t even dare to enter the kitchen.

And if there was a fire in the house, Edmond would definitely not be able to walk out.

The maid was in a hurry to run from the fire. She thought about it

quickly and then nodded. “Mr. Lamont is up there. Mrs. Lamont, you

should run. The fire is too big.”
