Chapter 31 Itâs Her for Sure
Rosalie finally found her voice after a long while. Her heart was racing, and she was both nervous and
jealous.
If Claudia was proven to be Seraphina, she would be trodden underfoot by Claudia.
âTen to one.â
Seeing Elvaâs sullen face, Rosalie knew what she meant.
Elya didnât want Seraphina back.
She didnât want Claudia to be Seraphina either.
âWhat do you want me to do?â
Elva curled her index finger, and Rosalieâs head leaned to her.

Outside the Friedanâs manor parked a black Maybach.
The driver was a lad. When he saw Claudia going out, he removed his night vision goggles.
âMr. Lamont, Mrs. Lamont is out. Should we go and greet her?â
Luckily, they were in a black car that was parked at an unnoticeable corner. As Claudia was riding the
scooter, she didnât look over at all.
âNo need!â
Outside the Friedanâs manor was a busy street, which was close to the
place where Claudia lived recently.
Edmondâs assistant Rodney sighed when he saw Edmondâs deep eyes.
He had clearly figured out the relationship between Waldron and Claudia, but Edmond told him to stop.
If it was a misunderstanding, it was nothing. If it wasnâtâ¦
Rodney glanced at Edmond in the rear mirror.
If someone like Edmond was cuc kolded, Rodney wouldnât believe that there was true love.
âMr. Lamont, you may misunderstand the relationship between Mrs. Lamont and Mr. Friedanâ¦â
Rodney couldnât help but persuade Edmond again.
âMaybe!â Edmond clenched his fists, his eyes icy.
âThen, should we continue?â Rodney asked.
Thinking of how he had promised Rosalie, Edmond pursed his lips. âNo!
âFind out who took Claudia away and keep an eye on the Clayton family.â Thinking of how Claudia was
taken away in broad daylight, Edmond couldnât suppress his rising anger.
If he didnât find the wire-pullers, they would bring trouble to her someday.
Before trouble found her, why didnât he solve her problems in advance?
Thinking of what Edmond asked him to do, Rodney couldnât understand.
Edmond cared about Claudia and wanted to take up the cudgel for her. But he didnât have the courage
to urge her to stay.
Rodney couldnât understand what Edmond thought, but he had a premonition that Edmond would be
regretful.
âWill Mrs. Lamontâs after-divorce compensations be transferred to her account?â
âYes.â Edmond looked out of the window indifferently. âTransfer the money to her account as I told you.â
Though Claudia didnât intend to demand anything, he still gave her some compensation.
It covered properties and monthly living expenses.
Rodney couldnât understand his intention.
They were about to divorce. Why was Edmond so nice to his ex-wife?
If Rosalie knew it, she would stir up trouble.

Claudia didnât find out that she had forgotten something until she returned home.
It was a box about her origin.
She didnât want to get it back tomorrow, so she returned the same way she came.
Coincidentally, she bumped into Rosalie.
Rosalie was stupefied when she saw Claudia as if she was a ghost.
Since Rosalie knew that Claudia might be Seraphina, she really
wanted Claudia to disappear on the spot.
Rosalie and Claudiaâs old scores were endless.
Eleanor was dead. The hatred would never cease.
She had thought Claudia was alone, but to her astonishment, Claudia might be the lost daughter of the
Friedan family.
When Elva reminded her of the possibility, Rosalie immediately asked the detective who was
investigating Claudiaâs origin.
Waldron took Claudiaâs hair to do a DNA test.
âDidnât you go back? Why do you return now?â
Rosalieâs voice sounded unnatural.
She was worried that Claudia was too close to the Friedan family so that Claudiaâs identity would be
revealed.
Claudia felt bumping, into Rosalie was unlucky.
She didnât want to talk to Rosalie and continued heading towards the
gate.
Waldron told her that he had given the box to a maid who was waiting for her at the gate.
Claudia didnât want unrelated people to waste her time.
Seeing Claudia didnât pay attention to her, Rosalie was furious.
As Claudia headed towards the villa, Rosalie caught up with her quickly.
At the gate of the villa, Elva was breathing fresh air, wearing a night skirt. Seeing the maid holding a
box and looking around at the gate,
she asked casually, âWhatâs this?â
âMr. Friedan told me to wait for Ms. Lloyd here and give the box to her.â
Elva stared at the ordinary-looking box and didnât know what was in it.
She didnât know what Waldron wanted to give Claudia.
âLet me take a look!â She reached down.
The maid took a step back subconsciously.
Impatiently, Elva walked over and sna tched the box before the maid could react.
âMs. Friedan, Mr. Friedan told me to hand it to Ms. Lloyd. Itâs Ms. Lloydâs belongings. Mr. Friedan said
no one is allowed to open it.â
âIâm his sister!â Hearing the maidâs words, Elva grew more curious. By passing the maid, she opened
the box.
What appeared in front of her was a shabby cloth and a slip of paper.
The cloth looked antique.
She twirled it between her fingers and found that it was a handkerchief, nothing special.
So, she fixed her eyes on the paper.
The maid was anxious. âMs. Friedan, please give the box to me. If Mr. Friedan knows it, he will fire me.â
âShush!â Elva peered at her impatiently. âOne more word, Iâll fire you
now.
The maid couldnât help but hold her tongue, her face flushing red.
Elva chortled.
Her intuition led her to think that the secret behind the handkerchief was written on the paper.
She took up the paper.
As the wind blew, the paper was sent flying. She took a closer look. But before she could see
something, the paper was sna tched by a hand.
âMs. Friedan, are you so interested in prying into my privacy?â Claudia asked coldly.
Elvaâs face flushed hot. âI just want to know what Waldron gives you.â
âNothing. It belongs to me.
âPlease give it to me, Ms. Friedan.â Claudia stretched out her slender hand, her bright eyes gorgeously
shining under the light.
Elva was horribly jealous when she looked at Claudiaâs fine features.
Elva was ordinary. Even if she practiced dancing since she was a kid and perfected her features
through surgeries, she was less beautiful than Claudia.
Thinking of Emilyâs beauty, Elva was jealous.
Emily and Thomasâ children were good-looking. As Elva wasnât as good-looking as them, everyone
knew that she was adopted by the Friedan family.
Claudia grew up in a slum, but she was favored by genes.
If Claudia came back to the Friedan family, Elva would be overshadowed forever.
Under Claudiaâs cold gaze, Elva smiled and handed the box to her.
As Claudia touched the box, Elva pretended to drop it into the swimming pool to the side accidentally.
