"Damiennnnnnnn..." I heard my name being called as I was cooking dinner.
Hours had passed before Nikolai mentioned he was hungry. Lachlan agreed with him and I got to making dinner.
Lachlan took it upon himself to complain every once in a while, letting me know he was just "starving for some good food".
I rolled my eyes and put in some seasonings, finishing up the food. It wasn't much, just a simple dish that I had made over a hundred times, but it was always tasty.
I served plates and the three of us sat in silence as we ate our meals. Lachlan would try to talk with his mouth full here and there, but Nikolai would always hit his shoulder hard enough to get him to stop. He did say that it was great though, Nikolai agreeing with him as we continued eating. Their words of praise brought a warm feeling to bubble up in my stomach and a soft smile to spread over my face as we ate.
We all finished pretty quickly and Nikolai helped me clean up as Lachlan went back to the living room.
"He n-never help-helps clean up." Nikolai said with some fondness in his voice. I shrugged as a fond smile spread over my face.
It only took a few minutes to finish with the help of Nikolai (ð... sorry-) and we both settled down on the couch, with me sitting in between him and Lachlan.
"Soooo~ what do you do in your free time?" Lachlan asked me. Realization then popped up on his face as he walked away, shortly coming back with some paper. I sighed, I wish I could just talk. It would be so much easier to communicate with them.
I signed a quick "thank you" in his direction, before grabbing the items from his out stretched hand.
'I usually just work. Nothing special.' I answered simply as he looked at me shocked.
"Really?? That's boring dude." He says as he slings an arm over my shoulders. "I'm gonna take you out sometime so you can get out of this house." He promises. I laugh silently as I write something for him.
'You're gonna take me on a date?' I ask cheekily as I start to giggle silently. His cheeks flare a bright red as he squeezes my shoulder slightly in surprise.
"No! I mean, maybe? Wait! Do you want me too? What's your sexuality anyway?" He stammers out, almost going off on a tangent as he tries to collect himself.
"Du-dude calm dow-down." Nikolai said through his laughter and stutter. He looked at us both with such admiration and fondness in his eyes it almost made my heart melt. Almost, there's no way our relationship could build any further, they'd end up leaving me anyway.
That thought made me feel like a bunch of negative emotions slammed into me. It made me completely somber and took all of the joy I was feeling previously away.
"Are y-you goi-going to answ-answer the qu-question though?" Nikolai asked as a few moments had passed over us.
'I'm gay. And no, I was just teasing you.' I answered finally.
"Oh ok, yeah I'm pansexual and this lovely man beside me is too." Lachlan told me. I just nodded and stretched, feeling Lachlan's arm still wrapped around me. From my movements, it had slid down and rested at my waist. This didn't bother me, I almost even leaned into the touch.
"Man I'm beat." Lachlan said through a yawn. "We have the bedroom upstairs, right?" He asked shortly after. I nodded to him.
"Where w-will you be?" Nikolai asked me curiously.
'I'll sleep down here on the couch' I answered him simply.
"What? No dude, you should sleep with us." Lachlan said before his eyes widened in surprise. I quirked a brow at him before shaking my head.
'It's alright, maybe next time.' I told them. They didn't seem too pleased with my answer but didn't try to push me, which I was thankful for.
"Ok, well goodnight love." Lachlan said as he squeezed my waist and got up, heading upstairs and leaving me with a hot blush that spread up to my ears.
"Goodnight Dam-damien." Nikolai said simply as he smirked at whatever expression was showing through on my face. I just nodded and smiled to him as he walked up the stairs behind Lachlan, leaving me alone to wind down from the day.
