It had been a few weeks since Nikolai and Lachlan had started to live with me. We all became impossibly closer during this time. I had also figured out my feeling towards the two. I liked them a lot, romantically, but I didn't mention this to them. I decided to just ignore it, hoping that the attraction I felt for the two would die down with time. I also noticed a special bond that the two shared with one another.
Today Lachlan forced us all to go out into the city. He wanted to look around and meet new people so he dragged Nikolai and I out of the house after breakfast, giving us his famous puppy dog eyes so we couldn't even say no.
I was wearing my usual outside clothes but I wasn't as guarded considering I was with Nikolai and Lachlan, I knew they'd help me if something were to happen.
We shopped around for a couple hours before Lachlan decided that he had enough and wanted to head home. I could tell he was tired so I grabbed the bags he was holding from his hand and started to lead the way home.
Considering I hadn't really traveled out to this part of town since I've lived here, I was a bit turned around. None of the houses looked familiar and I couldn't tell where we had come from. I started to panic a little and stopped walking. I felt Nikolai's body slam into me from behind which knocked me over.
I fell but I landed softly on something that wasn't the ground. I looked down and, much to my surprise, Nikolai was under me with his arms wrapped around my body. I froze, my arms had moved to brace myself and were now on either side of his head.
We were so close in that moment that my brain short circuited and I didn't move. My breathing was heavy as I stared into Nikolai's beautiful eyes.
"Guys, I know there's no one around but you can't fuck here." Lachlan said, breaking through our intense gaze. Both of our faces flushed as I scrambled to get off of him. Our bodies pressed together more as I tried to get off making him take in a shuddering breath.
I noticed Nikolai's tattoo turned an iridescent green as I stepped away from him and backed up. His face was extremely red and his hands shot up to his face to cover his eyes. He released a groan before Lachlan helped him get up. He grabbed the bags I had dropped and turned to me.
"Nikolai!! Why is there a snake chasing me?!" Lachlan yelled as he hopped around, trying to dodge the creature that had appeared.
"Maybe be-because of tha-at comm-ent you made." Nikolai told him passively.
"I'm sorry! I was just trying to help you make a good decision!" Lachlan yelled as the snake tried to strike him. "Call it off!!" He demanded before sighing in relief when it slithered away. I giggled at the whole ordeal before gathering myself together and leading the way.
We started walking in silence, the two of us still breathing heavily from our little interaction.
"Um so- are we lost?" Lachlan piped up, trying to squash the thick silence that was between us. I nodded to him and his face seemed to pale slightly. "I'm sorry, this is all my fault. We shouldn't have strayed too far away from where you knew and were comfortable." He told me solemnly.
'It's ok, don't worry about it. If need be I can ask for directions too.' I told him to try and calm him down.
He still felt bad, I could tell, but he kept silent about it. We hadn't walked much before I decided to just suck it up and walk over to a house. I quickly wrote 'can you help give us directions back to the center of the city?' and knocked on the door.
Within a minute the door was pulled open to reveal a big and burly man. He looked down at me and his face formed a sneer when he recognized me.
"What can I do for ya you little twerp?" He asked me. I held up the paper with a slight shake to my hand and he read it before looking behind me to see both Nikolai and Lachlan.
"Why of course." He said semi nicely after having seen I was with someone and gave us the directions. Lachlan thanked him with what I could tell was a fake smile on his face before gabbing my hand a pulling me away.
We walked back home together, thankful that the guy hadn't lied to us.
Once we made it home all of us collapsed onto the couch and I sighed a breath of relief before I felt someone lean into my side. I looked over and noticed that Nikolai had fallen asleep. Lachlan though was still awake and looking at the both of us.
'What does it mean when his tattoo turns green?' I asked him when I had grabbed what I needed to without waking the sleeping male on my shoulder.
"Oh wow, it really turned green? When?" He asked me with curiosity swirling behind his eyes.
'When we had fallen, I saw it when I was getting up.' I told him truthfully. He then giggled happily before answering me.
"That basically shows that he was um, hmmmmm.... how do I say it?" He asked himself before taking a moment. "Well to put it bluntly, he was hot and bothered if you know what I mean." He said with a wink and a feral grin.
My face immediately flared up with a blush as I sunk into the couch.
Wow.
