When Doctor Leon was ready to leave the room, he spoke euphemistically.
âMiss Georgeâs condition is a little tricky. You need to take better care of her. When necessary, a psychiatrist is also indispensable.â
Doctor Leon was a smart person. Of course, he knew that Amos loved Eudora so much that it was unlikely that he had treated her that way.
Therefore, the wounds on her body were probably caused by someone else. That also explained why Amos was so frustrated.
Doctor Leon paused for a moment before adding.
âIâm not leaving soon. Iâll be outside. Call me if you need me.â
After Doctor Leon went downstairs, Harley arrived with dinner. Of course, it was charred.
Amos didnât eat. He just left it there.
He sat there and looked at Eudora.
All of a sudden, she started to pull things away desperately. It seemed that she had thought about those horrible things again.
âGet out! Get away from me!â Eudora screamed.
Amos ran over hastily and held her in his arms. However, he was afraid of touching the needle that was embedded in her arm. Even so, she still managed to find the needle.
She began to grab at it randomly.
Amos covered her hands and refused to let her move. However, he didnât know how she had gained the strength to bite his arm hard.
She bit his arm so hard that it left deep teeth marks, which were similar to the one he had given her before.
Although he knew that she was not intentionally biting him, he still felt very satisfied.
He smiled at her and stroked her hair gently, saying, âSleep. Everything will be fine when you wake up.â
He didnât know whether she had heard him. However, she finally let go of him and fell asleep again.
Amos lay down on the bed again. He was still worried. Then, he went to lock the door and lay down again.
They were exhausted. Her fever had subsided when the day broke, so he removed the intravenous drip from her arm. Only then did he slowly close his eyes.
However, he couldnât seem to fall into a deep sleep. He would wake up every few minutes. This time, the person next to him had disappeared again.
Amos almost collapsed and he jumped out of bed right away.
The door had not been tampered with. It was still locked.
Amos rushed to the bathroom, but no one was there. Finally, when he came out, he saw Eudora standing on the balcony.
She was still wearing a nightdress. It was white, and the hem of her dress was billowing in the wind.
Amos walked over hurriedly and said, âEudoraâ¦â
âDonât come over,â Eudora turned back and looked at him. She repeated, âDonât come over.â
Amos realized that she had regained her consciousness.
It seemed that the memory from the night before came flooding back the moment she woke up. Was she trying to liberate herself?
Amos shouted abruptly, âHoney, donât do thisâ¦â
The endearing word seemed to stab Eudoraâs heart. She sniffed and shook her head hard at him.
âNo, Iâm not your wife.â
âYou are!â Amos said, âYou are my wife. Eudora is Amosâs wife.â
âNo!â Eudora shook her head, âIâm not. I beg you. Please donât say thatâ¦â
She couldnât bear it.
It was not because she didnât want to be his wife. In fact, she had wanted to become his bride for the longest time. Five years ago, she wanted it. Five years later, she still wanted it.
She would always dream that she was wearing a white wedding dress. Amos would take her hand and put a ring on her finger.
Juju would then come over with flowers in her hands and call her âMommyâ.
A family of three would live happily after.
However, everything had changed now. She was no longer Eudora. She was no longer worthy to be Amosâ wife, nor was she worthy as Jujuâs mother.
If others knew that Juju had such a mother, they would definitely laugh at her.
Eudora took two more steps forward.
Amosâs heart was almost in his mouth.
âEudora, donât. I wonât call you honey anymore. If you donât like it, I wonât call you that, okay? Iâll call you whatever you want me to call you. Donât go any further!â
Only then did Eudora turn her head to look at him, âAmos, Iâm sorry.â
Her words made Amosâs heart beat even faster.
âNo, donât be sorry. Eudora, I want you. Thereâs nothing else that I want. Please, donât leave me, okay?â Amos begged.
â¦
Harley was sleeping soundly downstairs. He was really exhausted.
Doctor Leon was the first to realize that something was amiss. He immediately woke Harley up.
âI think that something is happening upstairs!â
Harley jumped up almost instantly and ran out at once.
As expected, they saw Eudora standing on the balcony with her dress billowing in the wind. Beside her, Amos was trying to persuade her with a pleading tone.
He was no longer the almighty Amos who could accomplish everything with a snap of his fingers. At this moment, he was completely at a loss.
He only wished to get Eudora to change her mind. Harley gritted his teeth and called Charlie in a hurry.
âWhat are you looking at? Hurry up and save her!â
Charlie and his men had always stayed by Amosâs side to protect him, but recently, Amos had spent most of his time with Eudora in the hospital. They often behaved intimately, hence Charlie and his men stopped following him closely for the time being.
At this moment, all they knew was that something must have happened.
Charlie hurried back with his men.
There was a lot of rescue equipment in the house, thus they set up the rescue air cushion right away.
Amos was still talking to Eudora, but Eudora had lost all her desire to live. She only wanted to be set free.
She had already walked to the edge of the balcony.
âGoodbye, Amos. In next life, Iâll marry you if Iâm pure..â
After that, she jumped. Amos didnât even have the time to speak. He watched her jump in front of her eyes.
He panicked. Then, he jumped after Eudora without hesitation.
He held Eudora tightly in his arms when they were close to the ground. His arm hit the ground hard.
With a stuffy snort, he went to check on Eudora as soon as possible.
Seeing that she was fine, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Eudora was also frightened. Although she wanted to be set free, her heart did not feel the same way. She just didnât want to drag Juju and Amos down.
She didnât expect that Amos would jump off the building with her.
âAre you out of your mind?â Eudora shouted.
Amos laughed instead and said, âI was already mad the day I met you.â
When Harley realized that Amosâ arm was dislocated, he said hurriedly, âAmos, donât move. Iâll ask Doctor Leon to check on youâ¦â
Amos refused and hugged Eudora tightly with his other arm. âDonât go. Donât leave me, okay?â
Eudoraâs heart ached, âItâs not that I donât want you anymore. I just think that I donât deserve you. Please let me goâ¦â
Amosâs passionate kiss had already landed on her lips because she could finish her words. The onlookers next to them were all dumbfounded.
Harley was the first to react and he immediately turned everyoneâs face away.
âSee no evil.â
