In the Holt Manor, Hodge had ordered the servants to prepare a variety of nourishing food for Eudora.
Meanwhile, Eudoraâs mind was filled with Tylerâs words. He said that he was going to apologize to Amos!
She wasnât in the mood to eat. She stood up hurriedly and wanted to chase after him.
Amos was already in the hospital, and she did not want Tyler to do unnecessary things.
However, Hodge stopped her and said, âMiss Eudora, please trust Mr. Holt. He may look fierce, but he has always kept his words. He will definitely apologize to Mr. Granger since he had told you so. If you are still worried, you may wish to visit Mr. Granger after you have finished your meal.â
Eudora looked at Hodge suspiciously. âAre you telling the truth?â
âMiss Eudora, have I ever lied to you ever since you came back? Donât worry. Hurry up and eat. You have not eaten anything for several days. Mr. Granger might get worried about you if you were to see him like this.â
Eudora nodded, then she began to eat obediently.
After that, she went upstairs to change her clothes. When she was about to head out, she met Tyler and the others, who had just returned.
Seeing that she was all dressed-up, Tyler knew where she was heading to.
âAre you going to visit Amos? Go ahead, then. Iâve made myself clear to him!â
For the first time, Eudora was a little confused about Tylerâs actions. She did not expect that he, a stubborn old man, would actually go to the hospital to apologize to Amos.
Standing at the side, Leslie also nodded, reassuring her that it was true. Only then was Eudora relieved. Then, she left promptly.
In reality, she wasnât planning to reunite with Amos. After all, this was too much to ask. The situation between Amos and her was already bad in the first place. It would be extremely difficult for them to go back to the way it was.
Furthermore, Tyler had only allowed her to visit Amos. That did not mean that he had accepted Amos. She could only visit him on behalf of the Holt Family.
Even so, she still prepared some nutritional food to bring along with her.
She had personally selected the nutritional soup that was Amosâ favorite. She had stewed it for half a day, and the soup was thick and milky white.
Eudora knew that Amos would definitely love it.
When she walked into the hospital, Eudora saw Christopher and Tina coming out from the ward.
She thought of what had happened a few days ago and felt somewhat embarrassed. Hence, she turned around hurriedly with her back facing them.
She thought she shouldnât change her stance so quickly after the confrontation they had a few days ago. Otherwise, it would only arouse suspicion.
Fortunately, Christopher and Tina seemed to be preoccupied and they did not notice her presence.
After the two of them walked past her, Eudora headed towards the ward.
Eudoraâs mood was initially calm. She thought that all would be good even if she had come to visit him on behalf of the Holt Family.
Nonetheless, it was not until she stood at the door of the ward that she realized she had lost the courage to enter.
Her heart was beating wildly. Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down before reaching out and pushing the door open.
The next second, her wildly-beating heart froze in an instant. Eudora stared blankly at the scene in the ward. Amos was lying on the bed with Helen beside him. She was resting on his body, a happy smile beaming on her face as though she had conquered the entire world.
It was a warm-hearted sight, as though they were glowing under the sun.
This glaring scene pierced into Eudoraâs eyes, causing her heart to skip a beat and the thermos in her hand nearly fell to the ground.
Before Helen could see her, Eudora took a step back swiftly and left the both of them to immerse themselves in their own sweet world.
When she left the hospital, Eudora still felt like she was dreaming.
For countless times, she had hoped that Amos would be able to open up and accept someone else. However, she had never expected that she would feel such throbbing pain in her heart when he finally did as she had hoped.
Winson, the Holt familyâs driver who was waiting at the door, saw her coming out. He asked curiously, âMiss Eudora, are we leaving so soon?â
Eudora shook her head as she walked forward in a daze.
It seemed that she did not hear Winsonâs question at all. The latter hurried to catch up to her and asked again, âMiss Eudora, are you really alright? Didnât you say that you were going to pass the soup to the patient? Why did you come out with it then?â
Eudora gave him a wry smile and replied, âYou can have it. I donât think that the patient needs it anymore.â
Winson took it shyly and opened the door for Eudora. âWhere do you want to go now?â
Eudora did not say anything, and so Winson simply took her home.
She saw Tyler sitting in the living room when she returned. It seemed that he had been waiting for her return.
After his previous arrangements, he was unsure whether his plans would be effective on Eudora.
Therefore, he subtly observed her expression as soon as Eudora came back. However, Eudora did not pay any attention to him as she went upstairs immediately.
Once he heard the bedroom door closing, Tyler stood up hurriedly and took two steps forward.
âHodge, did you notice her expression just now? Was she angry? Or was she sad?â
Hodge was confused.
âMr. Holt, I didnât see anything.â
He was certain that Tyler was behaving strangely, but he dared not say it out loud.
Tyler huffed at his answer and ordered, âGo and get Winson for me!â
â¦
Winson was feeling hungry after sending Eudora home. Hence, he found a place to sit down and drink the soup.
He had heard rumors of Eudoraâs superb cooking. Even back when Tyler hadnât known that she was his biological daughter, he too had been conquered by her culinary skills.
Most of the people in the house agreed that her cooking was amazing.
Winson finally had a chance to give it a try on this day. It was a great honor for him!
However, right as he opened the lid of the thermos and about to take a sip, he saw Hodge walking towards him.
He became nervous instantly and he lifted the thermos subconsciously in a hurry, saying, âI havenât drunk it. You can have itâ¦â
Hodge was utterly confused. âWhy would I want it?â
Winson was taken aback. âDidnât you come for the soup that Miss Eudora had prepared?â
âNo, Mr. Holt is looking for you.â
Winson was stunned and he wondered if Mr. Holt wanted the soup back.
âWhat are you waiting for? Hurry up and follow me!â Hodge turned around and walked away immediately.
Winson gazed at the thermos hopelessly. What did he do now? It was just soup. Was it necessary for Tyler to summon him?
He quickly held the thermos and followed after Hodge.
Winson handed the thermos over as soon as they arrived in the living room. âMr. Holt, this is the soup that Miss Eudora made. Here you goâ¦â
Tyler was puzzled and he asked, âWhat soup?â
Winson thought that he was deliberately pretending to be oblivious. After all, all these rich people were always unpredictable. Tyler was obviously very wealthy, yet he still wanted the soup back.
Not only that, but he was even pretending to not know what had happened.
In the end, Winson felt that Eudora was still the best amongst everyone else. After thinking about it, he explained, âMiss Eudora was going to visit a patient in the hospital, so she made this soup for him. I donât know why, but she did not hand it to the patient.â
It seemed that Tyler finally got the answer he wanted. He asked, âHow was she feeling when she left the hospital?â
âI guess she was not in a good mood. She seemed a little absent-minded,â Winson responded.
Tyler was finally relieved and he murmured to himself, âSo, sheâs not that stupid after allâ¦â
