Kesha breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he hadnât seen anything.
She brought the bowl of soup over to him and picked up a spoon. âIâll feed you!â
Amos agreed and nodded his head. âOkay!â
Kesha fed a spoonful of soup into Amosâ mouth and watched him drink it. She smiled and asked, âHow is it? Does it taste good?â
Amos pursed his lips and remarked, âIt doesnât taste the same as before!â
Kesha paused. Just as she was about to explain, Amos said, âIâm sorry, I couldnât protect you. You must be very scared, even your cooking has changed!â
Kesha was relieved and she immediately grabbed onto Amosâs arm.
âI was scared to death! Fortunately, I could still come back here.â
Amos withdrew his hand quietly and stroked her hair. âIâll protect you in the future.â
He turned away after drinking two more mouthfuls of soup.
âIâm sorry, I seem to have lost my appetite. You must be tired, why donât you go take a rest?â
Kesha shook her head. âIâm not tired. If you canât fall asleep, Iâll be here, right beside you!â
Amos did not respond. He then closed his eyes as he continued to sit there.
Kesha stared at his back, and then recalled the call she had with Fabian.
Fabian had requested that she first obtain information about Valiant East and TEM Company.
Taking a deep breath, Kesha asked, âAmos, is the injury on your back okay?â
Amos paused before replying. âOh, itâs much better!â
Kesha noticed that he was about to fall asleep, so she took the opportunity to ask.
âItâs a pity that the TEM Company has withdrawn from the Greene City market, You must have lost a lot, right?â
Amos hummed faintly, and his voice grew softer and softer.
âAmos?â Kesha called out, her gaze lingering on the key in his pockets.
If she wanted to look for information, she should probably start in Amosâs study. He was the CEO of TEM Company and Valiant East. Since Fabian couldnât find any information about those two companies anywhere else, then the information must be in his study.
Kesha got up and pushed Amosâ arm when he was in a daze.
âAmos? You should sleep on the bed! Youâll hurt your neck if you fall asleep like this.â
Amos had really fallen asleep this time, and he did not respond at all.
Kesha took the key off his pockets carefully, pushed the door open quietly, and went out.
The tip of Amosâ fingers moved just as she stepped out of the room.
Kesha held the key and opened Amosâ study in a click. Luckily, only Amos and she were left in this house. Kesha immediately opened the drawer of his desk.
There were a lot of shelves in the room and she searched through all of them.
However, she couldnât find anything!
She was about to check if there was anything she had missed, but all of a sudden, she heard the sound of a door closing. Kesha ran out hurriedly.
She found that Amos was still asleep when she returned to the bedroom. The wind was blowing into the room from the windows, and the thin curtains flew up high.
Kesha heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed that she had overthought.

Meanwhile, inside the abandoned residential area in the suburbs.
Eudora woke up in a daze and heard a commotion outside. Fabian had been very careful with her for the better part of the day.
Even when she had picked a fight with him on purpose, Fabian did not fight back, fearing that they would alert others.
However, he was so loud and noisy now that even Eudora couldnât figure out what had happened. What exactly was going on?
She perked up her ears and got a rough idea of what was going on. It turned out that Malcom had been caught by the police.
Fabian was throwing a tantrum in front of Callum, looking very angry.
At this moment, the bedroom door was kicked open. Fabian came in from outside and hugged Eudora.
Eudora was tied up and couldnât move at all. She had no choice but to headbutt Fabianâs head. âLet me go!â
Fabianâs eyes were red as he caressed Eudoraâs aching head. âEudora, are you blind? Which part of me is worse than Amos? Why are you treating me like this?â
Eudora laughed coldly. âYou canât be compared to him! No matter what, youâll always be the worse choice between the two of you in every aspect!â
Fabian was in a really bad mood. When he heard Eudoraâs words, he could no longer control his anger and grabbed Eudoraâs neck.
âShut up!â
He clasped Eudora so hard that she opened her mouth, trying her best to breathe.
Fabian, however, didnât notice that he was strangling Eudora in a fit of rage. âWhy do you despise me? Iâm trying so hard to prove myself. Why? Why do you despise me? Even if it was someone else in my shoes, could you guarantee that heâll do better than me? Iâve changed the status of the Nolan family completely. We went from puny and weak to what it is now. What did I do wrong? Why? Why did all of you betray me!â
His grip on her neck grew tighter and a tear fell from the corner of her eye.
The next second, all she could see was darkness. She had already passed out.
Callum let out a cry of surprise when he entered the room.
âMiss George!â
Only then did Fabian come back to his senses and let go of his hand. âEudora⦠I didnât mean to do that. I really didnât mean to!â
Holding up Eudora desperately, Fabian shouted, âQuick, call a doctor!â
Callum took a step back and stuttered, âBut, we areâ¦â Weâre running for our lives!
However, Fabian had already gone mad. He no longer cared about what situation they were in, and he kept shouting for a doctor.
Callum had no choice but to rush out.
â¦
Meanwhile, Eudora was dreaming a sweet dream. In the dream, she saw Amos coming to save her. Then, he took her hand and they walked into the sunset together.
In the dream, she thought that she was dead. Otherwise, how would she be able to see such a beautiful scene?
It wasnât until Fabianâs voice came from behind her that Eudora came back to her senses. When she opened her eyes, she was still staring at the place that she hated the most.
She was still lying on the bed in the room. The only difference was that the rope on her arm had been untied.
Callum pointed a gun at the doctorâs neck as he asked, âHow is she?â
The doctor trembled as he replied, âSheâs okay, she has already woken up.â
Fabian breathed a sigh of relief and turned to hold Eudoraâs hand again.
âSorry, Eudora, itâs my fault. I shouldnât have been so impulsive. I could never forgive myself if something were to happen to you just now.â
Eudora turned away and sneered.
âYou would have let me go if you really cared about me! Now, no matter what you say, it just all sounds hypocritical to me.â
Fabian furrowed his brows, and the doctor beside him continued to beg.
âIâve already treated the patient. Why wonât you let me go?â
Fabian was a little irritated by the doctor and ordered coldly, âLock him in the storage!â
