Initially, they thought that it would be fine after they ate it, but their encouraging attitude made the women more energetic.
Soon, the second round of grilled food came.
The men couldnât take it anymore and asked them simultaneously.
âLet us handle it. All of you have worked too hard. Go over there and take a rest with the children!â
However, Eudora was still very interested in the barbeque and said, âIâll roast for a bit more?â
When Thea and Tina heard that Eudora would continue, they nodded and said, âLetâs go for another round.â
Harley almost knelt down to beg Eudora.
âEudora, I beg you, please let us go!â
Eudora shrugged her shoulders, âForget it then. Letâs go over there and have some tea!â
That night, the moon hung high in the sky in the clearing in front of the wooden cabins in the forest. Three men were enthusiastically roasting, while three women were drinking tea with their children on one side.
Tina touched Jujuâs round cheeks and said, âIf only I could have a daughter as cute as Juju!â
Theaâs interest was immediately piqued, âAre you still not going to have a child?â
Thinking of it, Tina and Christopher had been married for one or two years.
âYes, weâre going to!â Tina said, âAt first, he really didnât want to have children since his father had made that will. However, his attitude changed after he saw both of your children when he went to the hospital last time. We are preparing for pregnancy now!â
âReally?â Thea smiled widely, âThen, Iâll be the one to congratulate you first!â
Eudora also nodded, âThe child will be yours, and this has nothing to do with the will. If you donât want to use the child to fight for the will, that will be your choice.â
However, Tina was not so optimistic, âEudora, you donât understand. Christopherâs eldest brother is keeping an eye on us too closely. Iâm worried that theyâll attack me once I have a child. When that happens, weâll be in troubleâ¦â
The three of them fell silent, âIf worst comes to worst, then move to our place. The Granger family has a lot of people, theyâll definitely be able to protect you,â
Said Eudora.
She had never experienced a sisterly relationship since she was young and she had ended up in an unpleasant state with Kesha. Only Tina, a sister she had never met before, had given her a lot of comfort.
It really made Eudora feel like she had a real sister, so she naturally hoped that Tina would be fine.
âItâs not that dramatic.â Tina smiled and said, âChristopher can protect me. If something goes wrong, Iâll definitely ask you for help!â
Since Tina had already said so, Eudora had no choice but to nod in agreement.
Thea sighed, âI also want a child, but Harley disagreed. He may still have some unsolved concerns in his heart.â
As for the matter between the two of them, Eudora and Tina were very clear about it. They turned around, looked at Harley, who was fooling around, and they spoke in unison.
âYou must be overthinking!â
Thea smiled bitterly, âYou havenât known him like how I have, so you donât understand.â
Although Thea had said so, Eudora and Tina held the same thought. Then the topic ended as the three men came.
The men put what they had roasted on the table and asked, âGive it a taste.â
It had to be mentioned that they didnât expect that the three of them could barbeque so well, considering they were business elites or CEOs of their own companies.
Eudora picked it up and took a bite, âNot bad.â
She took another one and handed it to Juju, âCome, taste your fatherâs cooking.â
Juju had always been the most supportive one, hence she immediately took a piece and put it into her mouth.
âItâs delicious!â
Glancing sideways, she immediately pushed it to Eudoraâs mouth again, âMommy, you eat too. See if itâs good or not?â
Eudora took a bite, âDelicious! Daddyâs awesome.â
Juju and Eudora then looked at each other and laughed.
Tina sighed, âThis place is so nice. When we came just now, I saw roads being repaired over there. If the roads had finished being repaired, there wouldnât have been such a peaceful environment anymore. What a pity.â
Harley was stunned, âThere has been a road here since a long time ago! Itâs the one you said thatâs undergoing maintenance! The road in front is connected to the high-speed train!â
âReally? But why canât I hear anything?â
âPerhaps, itâs because there were too many trees and they have blocked it.â Harley said.
This statement made Eudoraâs brain turn. According to Harley, the place was indeed quiet though there was a highway outside!
If trees could block the noise, she thought of giving it a try.
Thinking of this, Eudora couldnât hold back the excitement in her heart. Coincidentally, Sugar Bun was asleep too thus she immediately got up, âIâll take the child in and have a rest. Have fun.â
When Juju saw this, she was about to follow her mother, but she was held by Amos.
âYour mommy needs to have some peace and quiet time for a while. Iâll keep you company instead.â
âOkay!â Juju said with a smile.
After entering the room, Eudora closed the door and realized that the voices outside had been cut off. This was obviously an ordinary log cabin, yet it had such an effect.
In fact, as a designer, she should have known that the trees could produce soundproofing effects. However, she just seemed to have overlooked that important fact.
Many people had rejected the proposal, thus she subconsciously thought that this project would be a challenging one.
On the contrary, she had actually complicated it.
After putting Sugar Bun on the bed, Eudora switched on the computer that she had brought with her to the trip.
After examining the design drawings for a while, a new problem popped up. She finally understood why the previous designers had given up on the case.
It was because, according to their plans, there was no place for large-scale growth for the trees at all.
The city was essentially noisier than the mountain village. To plant a forest, it definitely needed a big piece of land.
Just then, there wasnât even a single spot left for them to plant those trees.
Eudora covered her forehead in her hand. Her rising hope soon fell again.
She was so anxious that she did not know Amos had entered the room. Amos laid Juju, who was also asleep, down on the bed and he poured a glass of water for Eudora.
âDrink some water!â
Eudora sighed, âAm I too dumb? Youâve had such a hard time guiding me, and I shouldâve worked hard to pull off this deal, but I seem to have failed you!â
Amos chuckled, âSilly, I didnât bring you here to listen to this! What Iâm doing is to make you happy. As long as youâre happy, what Iâm doing wonât be in vain.â
Eudora raised her head and looked at Amos, âIâm sorry, itâs all my fault. Itâs fine, itâs just a difficult challenge, right? Iâm not afraid! Iâll definitely think of a better solution!â
Eudora picked up the glass and gulped it down, âYou should rest first. Iâll look at this for a little more.â
Amos shook his head, picked up a book and leaned against the chair.
âIâm not sleepy. I want to stay with you.â
