Eudora had not quite understood Tinaâs intentions before. However, listening to her recount her experience at the orphanage, she suddenly came to realize why Tina had made those choices.
Tina was insecure.
She had been abandoned ever since she was young, and had been sent to the orphanage. Orphans never got to experience their parentsâ love and would think of themselves as redundant.
She was afraid of being abandoned, hence when she realized that she could not provide anything at all for her loved one, she chose to leave.
Eudora sighed quietly as she exchanged a look with Charlie.
They left the scene hastily and walked outside.
At that moment, maybe if they could open up and be vulnerable with each other, then perhaps they could see each other clearly for who they were, and have a happy ending.
â¦
Only Christopher and Tina were left in the room. He shook his head.
He shook his head, âI know what youâre trying to say! However, how would you know that this is the peak of our relationship? Why wonât you give our future a chance? Weâll be even better in the future!â
âI canât afford to!â Tina smiled wryly. âNeither can you.â
âI donât want us to end up with nothing in the end. After all, you have an even better option now. But I⦠maybe thatâs the best option too!â
She finished speaking, and turned around to leave.
Christopher instantly took her into his arms, âWhat in the world is the best option? All I know is that you and I being together is the best option. I wonât let you leave! Never!â
Tina struggled in an attempt to escape from his arms, âLet go of me! What else do you want me to say?â
âI donât care! Either way, I wonât let you go!â
The two of them pushed and pulled back and forth. Tina panicked, and stretched her hands out to push Christopher. In an instant, she felt a certain warmth on her hands.
She removed her hand and discovered that she had accidentally touched Christopherâs wound which was bleeding more severely than before.
âThatâs weird!â Tina frowned. âYour last injury wasnât in this spot, so how did you get injured again? Did something happen on your way here? No, I must take you to the hospital!â
âThereâs no need! Itâs alright, just bring me in to rest and Iâll be fine!â Christopher shook his head.
âHow is it fine? Youâre bleeding! You have to go to the hospital for an examination!â Tina was anxious, her voice growing louder as she spoke.
âIâve already had a checkup, really. Help me in so that I can rest!â
Tina saw that he did not seem to be lying, so she finally decided to help him inside.
âWhat in the world is going on? Iâll go grab the medical kit to patch you up.â
This time, Christopher did not stop her. Instead, he allowed her to do as she wished. A moment later, Tina lifted his shirt. When she saw where his wound was, color immediately drained from her face.
âChristopher, youâve gone out of your mind!â
Her entire body was trembling.
Christopher smiled and replied, âNow, you canât leave me anymore!â
Upon hearing that, tears instantly came gushing out of Tinaâs eyes, âYouâve really gone mad! Who told you to undergo this surgery? Donât you know that having a vasectomy is harmful to the body?!â
Yes, Christopher had just undergone a vasectomy. He would give up his chances at having a child, just to get her back!
Christopher did not know that the procedure would be harmful to his health, but it did not matter.
âYou had already left, so what was the point in me having a healthy body?â
Tinaâs heart ached, feeling extremely dejected, âIf you dare utter another word of nonsense, Iâll ignore you! Hurry up, come with me, Iâll bring you to the hospital. I heard that now thereâs a procedure which can undo this. Iâm taking you to do that immediately.â
âThereâs no repairing this!â Christopher laughed. âI asked the doctor to use the simplest, most straightforward way to do this. It canât be fixed!â
As he was speaking, he took out a surgical report, âItâs definitely not a lie. You can verify it with the doctor.â
âYouâ¦â Tina was so angry that she was about to cry.
âYouâre punishing me now, arenât you? You want me to live without a peace of mind, bound by guilt towards you for the rest of my life. Christopher, youâre such an idiot! Donât you know that youâll never have children now? You canât have your own child anymore!â
âI know!â Christopher struggled to get up and held her hand.
âItâs exactly because I know this that Iâm happy. Tina, I canât have children anymore from now on. In fact, the doctor told me that there will be complications after the vasectomy. From here onwards, be it rain or shine, storm or sleet, I will suffer from back problems. Iâll need someone to take care of me, so can you stay and do that for me? Can you do that?â
Tina burst into tears angrily as she scolded him, âYou idiot!â
Christopher finally smiled, and reached out to hold Tina in his arms.
âI think that this is the smartest thing Iâve ever done in my entire life!â
Outside the door, Eudora and the others had been waiting for a while. They did not see either one of the two coming out, so Eudora finally relaxed.
âLooks like both of them have reconciled. Then, itâs time for us to go home!â
It was dangerous outside! What if Sebastian went mad and did something crazy again? They might not be as lucky as they had been just now!
Charlie nodded, âThen, Iâll send you back.â
Just as the two of them were about to leave, the door opened behind them. Tina asked timidly, âEudora, can I still go home with you?â
Eudora stopped in her tracks, then smiled.
She smiled, âHave you thought it through?â
Tina lowered her head, her eyes reddening, âEudoraâ¦â
Eudora had noticed that something was off, but it was not the time to delve deeper into it. She nodded and agreed, âOf course you can come home. Is Christopher okay? Does he need to go for a checkup at the hospital?â
âThereâs no need. Iâll take good care of him!â
â¦
At the same time, Sebastian was looking angrily at the two masked men who had been beaten to a pulp and thrown at the entrance of the company.
âYou pieces of trash! Two big men canât even capture one fragile woman. Whatâs the point of keeping both of you around?â
One of the men heard him, and retorted in frustration, âNow, what youâre saying is completely false. The woman was ridiculously fierce, but youâre telling me that sheâs fragile? I almost got beaten to death by her! You have to bear the cost of our medical expenses!â
Sebastian snorted in reply, âHow dare you ask me for medical fees when you didnât even complete your mission? Thatâs impossible! Get out of here!â
Without waiting for the two men to continue, he called for the security guards.
âThrow them out as far as you can! I donât know who they are!â
The two men glared angrily at Sebastian, âJust you wait. We wonât let you off so easily!â
After the two of them were thrown out, several shareholders entered the building.
âPresident Granger, whatâs going on in the company these few days? A couple of days ago, news got out that you had sent someone to steal something at Clearwater Bay. Now, youâre instructing the security guards to throw out two people. What in the world is happening?â
Sebastian was furious, but it was impossible for him to vent it out at the shareholders, So, he patiently answered them, âItâs fine, Iâll take care of all of it.â
âIf you can deal with it, then deal with it properly! Letâs not mention the fact that the company is in a mess, but even the catering department is in a wreck! Shouldnât you give us an explanation?â
âThatâs right! We need an explanation. When the previous President Granger was still around, nothing like this ever happened!â
When he heard them mention Amos, Sebastian completely lost it. He stood up swiftly and glared at them!
âSo now youâre saying that Amos is great? Very well, then you can go and find him! Go down to hell and find him!â
