âItâs you!â Christopher Gellert put his hands into his trouser pockets. âI canât believe youâre here, the competition is over already. Mr. Granger, are you that busy?â
Amos Granger frowned and said, âHow dare you take her to a place like this! Iâll deal with you later!â
âOh, are you going to deal with me?â Christopher sneered. âSomeone wouldâve taken her away if it werenât for me! Do you even care about your girlfriend? Wouldnât it be better to end such a relationship sooner? Please stop wasting her time.â
After saying that, he turned around and left.
Amos frowned. Eudora George was struggling in his arms. She fiddled around his chest with her hands.
âWhy is there a wall here?â She asked.
Amos held her hands. âStop it.â
Eudora finally saw his face clearly, and said, âAmos? Youâre finally here!â
Amos was very displeased, âWhy did you drink so much?â
However, Eudora did not answer his question. She shook her head and said, âNope. How could Amos be here? Heâs with his lifesaver now! Iâm so sure of it!â
After saying this, Eudora pursed her lips as if she was going to cry any moment.
But instead, she sighed and raised the bottle in her hand. âStop talking. Câmon! Letâs drink.â
âEudora George!â Amos snatched the bottle in her hand and threw it on the ground. Upon seeing this, Eudora went mad all of a sudden, beating his chest frantically.
âYouâre a bad guy. Give me back the wine. I want to drink!â
âYou canât drink!â Amos said angrily. Despite her endless struggles, he carried Eudora in his arms.
Someone happened to pass by. Upon seeing this, they came to say in a hurry, âIt seems like this young lady doesnât want to go with you.â
âGet away from me!â Amos roared, his expression was so fierce that the person got scared and scurried away.
Amos then placed Eudora on the passenger seat.
Eudora was probably frightened too. She kept struggling, âLet go of me, bad guy! My husband is Amos Granger. He would definitely come and save me!â
Hearing this statement of hers, Amos didnât know how to react, he held onto her shoulders helplessly, âLook at me clearly, I am Amos Granger.â
âNo, no way, youâre not Amos. Heâs not as fierce as you. He treats me very well. You are a bad guy!â
Amos took a deep breath and said, âFine, Iâm a bad guy.â
Eudora stopped struggling when Amos had admitted to her that he was a bad guy. She reached her hand out to touch his face. âAlthough youâre a bad guy, you do look like him when youâre angry.â
The look in Eudoraâs eyes when she said so was as if she was reminiscing something. Upon hearing this, Amosâ heart sank. He said, âDidnât you just say that he treats you very well? Would he be angry too?â
âWhy not? He used to be a fierce and bad guy. He wasnât polite to others, but yet he wanted others to do things his way.â
Eudora kept accusing him of all the bad things he had done, to the extent where Amos couldnât bear it anymore. It turned out that he was such a bad person in her eyes.
âIs he that bad?â Amos asked.
âYeah. But, I liked him that way.â Eudora suddenly let out a sigh.
âWhy?â Amos frowned.
âBecause he only belonged to me at that time.â
Upon hearing her true thoughts, Amosâ heart ached. Subconsciously, he hugged her and said, âHe still belongs to you now.â
âNo, he has Wendy Liam now!â After she blurted, Eudora suddenly covered her mouth to say, âHold on, Wendy saved his life. I canât say this. I have to understand him. He has no choice. I⦠Iâm sorry.â
Amos was even more upset when he saw Eudora like that.
âItâs okay!â Amos held her in his arms again. âI am the one who is supposed to apologize to you. I shouldnât have let you endure all these. Eudora, Iâm sorryâ¦â
The woman in his arms did not give any response. Amos looked down at her, and found that she had fallen asleep.
She was sleeping soundly in his arms, like a lazy little kitten.
Amos suddenly felt like he was in bliss, and his heart was full. She was the woman who suited him the most, and the only woman he would give his all for.
Amos lowered his head to plant a kiss on her forehead. Then, he started the car engine and drove the car back home.
â¦â¦
It was already late in the morning when Eudora woke up the next day.
Her body hurt with her every movement. She felt a massive headache as well.
She raised her hand to knock her head. Then, she sat up and looked around the room. She was in her house in Clearwater Bay. She was home.
However, wasnât she drinking with Christopher and the others last night?
The wall clock struck ten, and it was only then when she realized, she was going to be late for work!
She got up from the bed immediately and went downstairs in a haste. Auntie Valerie handed her a bowl of soup to for her to sober up and said, âSir asked me to cook it for you this morning. Please drink it now, it will help with your hangover.â
Eudoraâs head really hurt a lot. Therefore, she drank the soup immediately.
Auntie Valerie however was murmuring, âMiss George, you really shouldnât have drank so much. Itâs bad for your health. Sir didnât even sleep for the whole night because he had to take care of you. He was taking a shower and preparing for work when I arrived this morning. His eyes looked red from the exhaustion.â
Eudora frowned and asked, âDid he bring me back last night?â
âWho else could it be?â Auntie Valerie asked her back.
However, Eudora couldnât remember anything at all. What exactly happened last night?
When she arrived at the company, Eudora went straight to find Christopher.
Christopher smiled and said, âDidnât I give you a day off? Why are you back?â
âIâm fine. So I came back to work. Did you send me back last night?â
Eudora asked this on purpose, she wanted to know what happened last night.
Christopher shook his head and said, âI was going to send you back. Unfortunately, Amos came and took you away.â
As expected, it was Amos who brought her back. âUmmâ¦. you didnât have a conflict with him, did you?â Eudora asked.
She was quite worried that they would get into an argument because of her.
Christopher looked at her deeply and said, âI donât think you should be worrying about us getting into a conflict. You should worry about yourself first!â
âMe?â Eudora looked at herself. She said, âIâm fine!â
âStop lying, why would you drink so much if you were really in a good mood? You seldom drink that much. So tell me the truth, are the both of you okay?â Christopher asked.
Eudora was dumbstruck, âWhy would you ask? Our relationship is very stable!â
Upon hearing this, Christopher pretended to be disappointed and said, âThatâs a pity. I thought you were going to break up with him, then I could finally take his place!â
Eudora was a little flustered, â⦠Donât make fun of me! Whatever, Iâm going to the construction site now.â
Christopher snorted, âSilly woman.â
Then, he caught up behind her and said, âI want to go too. Please wait for me.â
