Chapter 4- Who is he?
The sun was already up when Qiu Chen woke up. He took a quick shower, dressed up, and then went to the kitchen to have breakfast. Qin Zhen and Qin Shing were already gone, only Mrs. Qin was sitting in the living room.
"Mom" Qiu Chen greeted her.
"Already up?" Mrs. Qin asked warmly "Go and have your breakfast."
Qiu Chen sat down at the table to have breakfast. He doesn't know why the home cooked food made him feel so satisfied.
"Mom, did you make the breakfast?" He asked with interest.
"You can tell?" Mrs. Qin was surprised. This son of her never paid attention to these details.
Qiu Chen felt a bit bad. "I could always tell, but didn't think mom would make them for me."
This was the original's thought. He will convey them to his family. He doesn't want these good people to have misunderstandings.
Mrs. Qin felt guilty. She also knows she seldom spent any time with this child. It's totally normal for him to think this way.
"Baby, mom will always cook for you. Just let mom know what you want to eat."
"Okay. Thank you, mom!"
After Qiu Chen happily finished his breakfast, he got on the Qin family's car to go to the university.
Uncle Zhang, the driver knew that second young master didn't like to show off his family background. So, he habitually stopped the car a block before the university gate.
Qiu Chen climbed down the car and told Uncle Zhang to wait at the same place when the university ends. He showed Uncle Zhang a bright smile and walked away. The smile blinded uncle Zhang. He felt that the second young master is a bit different today though he couldn't point it out. He personally watched Qin Shui grow up and always felt sorry for him. Now, he could be relieved to see the youth smiling so freely.
Qiu Chen had a good impression of this Uncle Zhang. When the original met an accident and passed away this Uncle Zhang quit his job and returned to his village. He said he couldn't continue to work in the family where there was no second young master. Unknown to anyone, this childless man always regarded the original as his own son.
Qiu Chen walked through the university gate as he was lost in his thoughts. He didn't notice the smile he had on him thinking about the original's fate. But that didn't mean no one noticed. Bai Ling was waiting for his friends under a tree, from where he saw Qiu Chen slowly walking in, a little sad smile on his lips. The morning sunshine fell on his slightly childish face which made the smile looked a bit self-deprecating. Such face will always make others pity. Bai ling was no difference. He suddenly had the urge to go to Qiu Chen and pat his head. He got quite shocked by his own thoughts and hurriedly looked away.
This whole thing was watched by Tang Feng. He clenched his fist really hard. He decided to make Qiu Chen more cornered today.
Qiu Chen unhurriedly went to the administrator's office. He got to finish what couldn't do yesterday.
"May I come in?" He asked politely.
"Come in, come in. have a seat." Administrator Fu hurriedly invited him in.
Qiu Chen was really amused. Just one day ago this man scoffed at him. But now he's afraid of him. 'It feels good to have power' he thought to himself.
"What can I do for you, Student Qin?" Administrator Fu asked.
"Can Administrator please help me change my seat? I want a seat in the back row."
"Why not the front row? I'll arrange a seat in the front row for you." Administrator Fu was quite puzzled.
"No, do as I say. I want a seat in the back row." Qiu Chen wasn't requesting this time but asked for it.
Administrator had to comply with him.
"And don't tell anyone my background. I don't want any more rumors." Qiu Chen Smiled looking at the administrator.
Administrator Fu was shocked. This little brother's smile is no less frightening than the older one's. He could only nod stiffly.
"Administrator worked hard. I'll see myself off." Qiu Chen smiled again, but this time it's like blooming flower.
Administrator nodded again but dazedly thought about the contradictory sides of Qiu Chen. If he was not wrong, he seemed scarier than his brother.
After discussing the matter with the administrator Qiu Chen went to the class and sat on previous seat. He couldn't change his seat until the formality is finished.
Tang Feng entered the class after Qiu Chen but before he could get to go to his seat, an office attendant came.
"Student Qin Shui, Student Wen Liu. Following the official order you two will exchange your seat." The attendant announced and left.
As soon as the attendant left all kinds of whisper and sneers could be heard.
"Has the authority taken an action against Qin Shui?"
"That shouldn't be. Seats can be changed only if students apply."
"Who applied? Qin Shui or Wen Liu?"
Wen Liu was dumbfounded, "I didn't apply." So, it must be Qin Shui.
Qiu Chen didn't pay attention to them, went to the last row and waited for Wen Liu to vacant the seat.
Tang Feng saw the situation and panicked, but didn't forget to act.
"A-Shui, don't be stubborn. I don't mind you sitting here. Don't change the seats just because of thier words."
Qin Shui didn't even look at him. It made Tang Feng's lapdogs unhappy.
"What are you being so good to him? He copied your answers and got better grade than you. Does he look a bit grateful?"
"No, you don't know. He must have had a bad situation at home, so he must've needed this scholarship to secure a better future, Don't you, A-Shui?" Tang Feng sounded like a saint.
"A better future with this kind of character? Chasing men and cheating in the exam? He will have his better future by crawling into someone's bed" this time it was Chang Shi who talked.
Qiu Chen sat down at his new seat and finally spoke, "You don't mind sitting next to me, but I do mind." He spoke slowly and clearly looking into Tang Feng's eyes, his eyes neither panicked nor nervous, not wavering even a bit. He had enough of this bullshit.
This statement made Chang Shi furious, "Who do you think you are? You are an ungrateful men-chasing disgusting piece of shit. How dare you talk to Fengfeng like that. Apologize to him."
"If I were you, I'd watch my mouth." Qiu Chen calmly replied.
The whole class showed disdain on their faces, clearly agreeing with Chang Shi. Tang Feng was silently satisfied. He achieved his goal. Everyone now is more dissatisfied with Qin Shui. By the end of the classes the whole university will know about this, so will Bai Ling.
Today Qiu Chen didn't go to the cafeteria to have lunch. His mom sent his lunch from home. He sat alone in the classroom and opened his lunchbox. A shadow fell on him. He looked up to see a person was standing in front of him. It's Wen Liu.
"I can see that you never cheated. Why don't you refute?" Wen Liu asked curiously.
"I see no reason to refute them." Qiu Chen replied as he started eating. Mom Qin's craft is really awesome.
Wen Liu swallowed as he continued talking, "Don't you feel sad when they scold you?"
"They have mouth, it's their decision what they want to say. But it's my heart, it's my decision whether to take them to heart or not."
Wen Liu was amused by this answer. But he couldn't help glancing at the food again. Qiu Chen noticed his guess. This person seems like another foodie.
"Do you want to have some? I have a lot." Qiu Chen smiled.
Wen Liu didn't hesitate to sit down and start eating, "These food are delicious! Where did you get them? It's so freaking awesome!"
Qiu Chen laughed out loud seeing his enthusiastic appearance. "These were made by my mom. She was afraid I would suffer in the school." Qiu Chen replied in a happy but low voice.
Bai Ling was standing at the door watching Qiu Chen laughing and eating with his friend. He felt it unreal. He never saw Qin Shui laugh and talk so freely. In his mind Qin Shui was always a grim and transparent boy. This bright sunshine personality is something he never saw in him.
Qiu Chen sensed the gaze and looked over to the door. As soon as he saw Bai Ling, his good mood vanished. He looked away and concentrated on eating.
Bai Ling saw Qiu Chen switching his persona so suddenly and was surprised. But he didn't pry into it. He walked into the classroom to talk to Qiu Chen. This was his purpose of coming.
"You insulted Tang Feng?" Bai Ling asked.
"Why do you care?" Qiu Chen said somewhat arrogantly.
"You don't have to know. Don't even try to bully him ever again." Bai Ling sounded cold.
"You have no position to tell me what to do and what not to do." Qiu Chen already lost his temper but remained calm.
"You!" Bai Ling was so angry that he couldn't find any word. Tang Feng was his neighbor, they grew up together. He will never let Qiu Chen "bully" him. But he could do nothing here, so he left angrily.
Qiu Chen lost his appetite seeing Bai Ling's attitude. Wen Liu couldn't help but wonder why this Bai Ling and Tang Feng are so unique!
"Birds of same feather flock together." Qiu Chen sneered in his heart. Though his face showed heartbreak and disappointment. At this time his phone vibrated. It was a message from Qin Shing, "Come to the company after class." Thinking about this generous big brother his mood improved. He put away the phone after replying affirmatively.
After the university ended he went to the company. From the system panel he knew he had to take the special elevator for president to go to his brother's office which is on the topmost floor. He also got the direction from the system. As he was walking towards the elevator, someone stopped him.
"Who are you? You don't seem from the company? What are you doing here? Why are you going to the special elevator?" The man asked Qiu Chen. His voice laced with disdain. He looked down upon Qiu Chen for his simple clothing. Qiu Chen laughed inwardly. 'It's drama time' his inner demon screamed.
"I'm here for Qin Shing" Qiu Chen replied as naively as possible.
"Do you have any appointment? Have you talked to the reception?" The man inquired.
Qiu Chen made a lost face. It improved the man's face. He looked he caught some kind of "thief".
Qiu Chen sneered inwardly and took out his phone. The man stood there looking at him like he was looking at some fool. The phone connected and Qiu Chen started acting aggrieved.
"Brother, they won't let me take the elevator." He purposefully didn't elaborate the situation as he knew his aggrieved voice was enough to shake his brotherwo just earned the "bro-con" badge.
"You are calling your brother? What using your brother to get to President Qin?" the man's voice was full of mockery.
"Are you concerned about my matters, Manager Tang?" Qin Shing asked, no emotion can be found on his face.
The man, Manager Tang, thought Qin Shing was praising him. So he continued to scold Qiu Chen in order to curry favor with Qin Shing.
"Of course it is my duty as an employee of Qin Corp. to see nothing messy happens here."
Meanwhile Qiu Chen found something odd so he looked up this Manager Tang's information using system panel. Sure enough, it's Tang Feng's elder brother Tang Lin. These brothers are quite same.
By the time Qin Shing came down, the crowd gathered to watch some fun. He saw Qiu Chen absent minded and thought he was sad, so he walked up to him. Seeing this Tang Lin was gloating thinking Qin Shing would personally rebuke this person.
"Why do you need to listen to a mere employee? If you want, they have to bow down to you. Why are you standing being so sad? Little crybaby." Qin Shing seemingly scolded Qiu Chen but his voice was warm and pampering.
The crowd shocked. The cold and aloof President Qin is using such soft tone to talk to someone? Did they here wrong? Who is this person? Soon they got their answer.
"Brother, I didn't know. I never came to the company. And that man looked so fierce." Qiu Chen looked like he'd cry any moment.
Brother? Never came to the company? Did their Old President have any other son? Or is it 'that kind of' brother?
"You are the Second Young Master Qin. Learn to use your identity." Qin Shing patted his baby brother's head lightly.
Everyone looked at Tang Lin with some pity. He picked up a stone only to drop it on his own leg. Tang Lin himself looked like he swallowed a fly. How would he know that this young man was the second young master?
Qin Shing took a deep look at Tang Lin, dragged Qiu Chen and entered the elevator. But that one look was enough for Tang Lin to know that he had met a dead end.
As Qiu Chen followed Qin Shing into his office, he saw handsome young man with a warm smile sitting there. Qiu Chen thought this man was really handsome with distinguished facial features and a gentle aura. As a natural born gay he really liked these types of men. So, he subconsciously thought about pursuing this man.
"WARNING! WARNING! MISSION IS FAILING! REQUESTING HOST TO PAY ATTENTION" suddenly a loud alarm went off in Qiu Chen's head as he swayed slightly. Qin Shing noticed his abnormality and hurriedly carried him to the couch. None of them noticed a dark light flashed through the other man's eyes for a fleeting moment.
"SYSTEM! What the hell is happening?" Qiu Chen screamed in his head.
"Host can't be with this man. You can be with anyone in this world, but this man is off limit. This is a hidden condition" System answered.
"Why? WHO IS HE?" Qiu Chen tried to calm down.
"He is Gu Yu, your brother's best friend. The original met him a few times and regarded him as his soulmate. As previously said, he is a bit weird. He stated that, you can be with anyone and he can be with anyone, but you two can't be together. As he regarded him as his soulmate, he will not allow him to be with someone who would have his own body but someone else's soul." System patiently explained.
"But didn't he love that Bai Ling? Now where this Gu Yu came from?" Qiu Chen was confused.
"The humiliation caused by Bai Ling was his obsession. He stopped loving him long ago. And he wanted you to avoid this man. That's why it wasn't included in your mission list. Apart from that, if they were really soulmates, then breaking them apart will be the most sinful crime to commit. Soulmates are heavenly pairs. You cannot break them." System explained again.
"Well, I understand. You go now." Qiu Chen felt tired.
"Xiao Shui, Xiao Shui. Open your eyes. The doctor is coming. Don't scare me" Qin Shing's call entered his ears. This man seemed to become a hardcore bro-con.
"Brother, relax. I am okay. I was just a little tired" He tried to appease his tensed brother. But he still had to take a full body check up. Now, he was really afraid of his family pampering him too much.
