Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Cold

Qiu asked.

Felix was currently laying down on his bed with a blanket over him.

Is too cold!

His rabbit system had told him that it was cold during winter. But it was still autumn! If he was already freezing now, maybe he would freeze to death when the actual cold season arrived.

“And how do you suggest doing that?” Felix asked with a bit of sarcasm. If he knew a way, he would do it weeks ago!

The little system proudly put out his chest. He had been waiting for this question.

“And where can I find that fruit?” Felix asked with excitement.

Trusting his little System. Felix put on his gloves and shoes and got out of bed.

In the living room Mother Rosie was making dinner, seeing her youngest son out of bed she asked with a smile.

“Felix, you finally came out? Come here, I am making some soup for dinner, it should warm you up.”

The smell of the delicious soup was in the air. Felix gulp. He suddenly felt hungry. But the coldness was bigger than his appetite, so he quickly advanced with his original intention.

“Sorry Mom, I will drink it later. I'm going to the forest.”

“The forest? Why are you going there?”

“Just want to take a walk.” Felix didn't share his ideas yet. Foremost, he didn't know if it could actually work, besides if it does it would be a nice surprise.

“Oh, okay. Then, I will put some soup in the basket. Take it with you if you get hungry.” Maybe because her youngest son had been calm for the last couple of days, Mother Rosie forgot that Felix was a little troublemaker. Surely, he didn't want to stay still any longer.

“Thanks Mom.” Felix took the basket with the bamboo container. The soup really smells good.

“Then be careful. Come back before the sun goes down.”

“Okay~”

Felix left his house and quickly arrived at the village. In the main road were a lot of females and omegas buying stuff on the market. At this time, the males and alphas were busy at the fields getting the harvest before the winters arrived. Father Lewis and Miles were also working there.

Saying hi to some ladies on the road, Felix went to the forest at the end of the village.

“So… where should I start my search?”

“Big and fluffy…” Like so, Felix started searching around the bushes for the konoe fruit. The system said it would be very easy to find, but after an hour they still haven't found it.

“Qiu… you said that this was going to be easy.”

By his side, the cute little rabbit was also panicking, reviewing his guide pages he didn't know why they still couldn't find the fruit.

During their search, suddenly a sound came behind some brush. Felix immediately put on guard. These were the medieval times, in the forest it was very easy to find wild animals. If one is not careful, it can cost your life.

Meanwhile, Felix was looking for an escape route, Fang Yu came out of the bushes with a wild pig on his back.

Fang Yu had a kind of indifferent face by nature, so the view of a tall man with a serious look and a wild big bear on his back was kind of intimidating. It could make any child pee their pants out of fright.

But for Felix, he couldn't help but think that Fang Yu looked very handsome.

Noticing the presence of Felix, a smile appeared on the cold face of Fang Yu. “Oh little Fel! What are you doing here?”

And like that the imposing aura that Fang Yu had before disappeared in the air, now instead he looked like a big puppy. Felix thought that if Fang Yu was a beastman, he surely would be a dog kind.

Maybe a golden retriever…

Thanks to Qiu, Felix snapped out of his thoughts and greeted Fang Yu. “Hello, older brother, I was actually looking for some konoe fruit.”

“Konoe Fruit? What do you need that for?” Fang Yu asked with confusion. The konoe fruit was tasteless. A lot of folk people usually don't bother themselves to look for this fruit since it can't be eaten. It is not poisonous or anything of the sort. It was just that it was too fluffy. If you tried to take a bite, your mouth would be full of plush.

“Well, I heard that the plush of the fruit is actually very warm. I was thinking of putting the filling on the walls of the house and see if it can be warmer for the winter.”

“Oh!” Fang Yu said with a tone of admiration. “That could work. I never heard that it could be used this way, but it is worth the try. So, how many do you need?”

Relaying in Qiu, Felix said, “I think six should be fine. But no matter where I looked, I can't find a single one.”

Giggling a little, Fang Yu said, “Well, then let Big Brother help you. It just turns out that I saw some on my way here. Come, let's go.”

Following Fang Yu, Felix arrived in front of a big tree. But it didn't look anything special. Searching on the ground, Felix asked with suspicion. “Are you sure it was really here? I don't see anything.”

Felix didn't realize, but he looked like a tiny black rabbit looking for carrots on the ground. It looked very cute. Fang Yu suddenly had some blush on his face. “Well, it is because you are looking at the ground. The konoe fruit is up there.” and then Fang Yu pointed his finger at the top of the tree.

Following his finger, Felix looked up and saw that there was a very big but fluffy ball on the tree. Felix was dumbfounded. He had thought, since the fruit was big, it should grow on the ground, like a watermelon. But now, looking at the leaves on the tree, there were two konoe fruits.

But you had to pay attention to it, since their color was very black green.

Without waiting for the dumbfounded bunny to react, Fang Yu stretched his arm and easily grabbed the two konoe fruits.

“Here, is this what you were looking for?” Putting the fruit on Felix arms. He could feel that indeed, as Qiu had said. It was very fluffy and warm. Like a cozy Japanese kotatsu. Maybe he should try to make one later. But for now, he was almost sure that it could really work.

And like that, Fang Yu helped Felix to grab another four fruits before finally coming out of the forest.

“Thank you, big brother, you really helped today.” Felix thanked sincerely. If he was alone with his silly system, heaven knows how long that should have taken.

“To problem at all. Hope your idea works.”

“Um. Thank you.” Felix was preparing to leave when he heard Fang Yu's stomach grow in hunger.

There was again some blush on Fang Yu's face. “Hehe, I forgot to eat lunch. But it seems that my stomach didn't.”

Remembering something, Felix looked inside his basket and took out the bamboo container with Mother Rosie's soup. “Here, Big Brother, as a thanks for your help.”

“Wow, it smells wonderful. Are you sure? There are no returns.”

“Is fine, like I said, is my thanks. Well then, see you later.” Felix took his basket now only full of the konoe fruits and took his leave.

Behind him, was a big man with a happy heart.
