The tension building up inside me intensifies as I walk into my cabin. With no doubt there's stares but I try to focus on my destination which is my bed.
I have to be on alert now because I'm fully aware on how much they hate me. Every single person here is an Abby hater. Or maybe just a few are, while the rest are like me who simply can't speak out to put an end to things like this.
Noah made quite the appearance yesterday, although I was really tired to hear all he said or saw what happened here last night, I know he must have put up a show.
I pick up my toiletry bag and towel, already making my way to the bathroom when I stop in my tracks, recalling the incident of yesterday. I retrace my steps back to my bed.
I could stay a day without taking a bath but there's no way I could stay even one more hour without brushing my teeth. I sigh as I grab my things and stuff them inside my bag.
I'm out the cabin with my bag behind my back and a water filled water bottle. I sneakily make my way to the back of the cabins, finding a spot not too close to the windows.
I take out my toothbrush and toothpaste, quickly brush my teeth and wash my face once I'm done. I put on extra deodorant, cause it can get really nasty once I'm sweaty.
I walk back to the cabin, passing the little parking lot. My eyes land on Don's car, at the trunk where Noah and I slept. I wish I had a memory of that but I unfortunately slept like a log last night so I can't recall anything.
I hope I didn't snore like a cow or rolled too much or even worse sleep talk.. I slowly cover my face in shame. If I did any of those things and he knows I'm doomed-
I collide with someone so I quickly peel my hands away from my face. I gulp heavily when I see Asher, glaring at me.
"Watch it, bean bag",
"Sorry", I mutter and he looks down at me, his anger slowly turning into confusion and then disgust. So many emotions going on right now..
"Did you just take a bath behind the cabin?", he asks.
"What no", I immediately answer.
He scoffs, "Wouldn't be surprised if you did", he says then turns to get into the car but then stops just to turn back to me.
I raise both of my brows at his sudden movement.
"I guess I did come to this camp for a reason", he says with a taunting smile and I'm wrapped in confusion.
"Uh..", I trail and he walks a step closer. I step back.
"Take a lap, down the hill and back", he says then gets into the car. I watch him open mouthed and wide eyed. What does he mean down the hill and back.. it took a century for me to get up here.. okay heavily exaggerated but still.. I could have died.
"I.. I can't..", I stutter walking closer to the car window to see his evil face.
"Then you shouldn't have been such a slub and passed the goddamn exam", he says and I shut my mouth. He smirks, "Good, now go on.. and don't even think I'm not watching.. I'm gonna be right behind you",
I sigh, walking away to the direction of the cabins.
"And where do you think you're going?", Asher's loud voice asks and I stop to turn to him.
"Can't I at least drop my bag first?", I ask.
"No, now get back to your lap", he yells from his revising car and I'm engulfed with embarrassment as I slowly walk back to the entrance of the camp.
"Faster!", he yells and there's tears involuntarily welling up my eyes. Why does he have to be my tutor? How the heck did he even get here?.
As I speed walk down the hill Asher comes behind me with the car and I hear a big scoff from him.
"Are those tears? How pathetic!",
I stop, "How are you even here?!", I yell back.
Asher calmly puts his hands on the window seel and rests on them, a cynical look on his face.
"I'm not the one who needs to lose weight", he says and I ball my hands into a fist, clenching them tightly as I grit my teeth.
"Now move!",
I run down the hill almost tripping a few times and getting snorts from Asher's wing. When I get to the road, I fall on the ground panting.
Asher gets down from the car then makes his way to me. He leans on his car as he gives me a pathetic look.
I'm so glad I haven't eaten today, would have been a hurling mess right now. And I can just picture the look he'd give me.
"You look terrible", he scowls. Well good to know he's already giving me the look.
The bell rings so I let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness, I might have passed out with the whole drill. I start walking back up the hill to get back to camp.
Asher gives me a look which I avoid so he clears his throat. I sigh, stopping in my tracks to look back at him.
"And where do you think you're going?", he asks.
"Back to camp. The bell just rang",
"So?",
I scoff, "So if I don't go up now I might miss breakfast",
"You're still worried about not eating.. my God", he tsks in the air, shaking his head as he stares down at me.
"I'm going to pass out if I keep running with an empty stomach",
"You passing out is better than gaining another pound", he says then adds, "And it's better if you do so I won't get to see your face",
I sigh, turning around. I look at him, "Why do you hate me so much?",
"Why don't you hate yourself?",
I look elsewhere, wishing I hadn't asked in the first place. I guess his hate is greater than I thought it was. In my next life, I'm sure as hell not gonna be fat. It's like a crime in this life and it hurts so bad.
"Now get yourself up", he orders getting into the car.
I pick up a stone, wanting to hurl it at him but stop when I see he's looking at me through the rearview mirror. I gulp, casually tossing the stone away.
I walk up the hill defeated, not glancing his way.
"If I get there before you, you're missing breakfast", he says from the car. So I look back and he smirks starting it up. I quicken my pace on the rocky path.
If there's something I've ever wanted so bad, it would be to win this. It's a competition between Asher and my stomach. The sound of it growling made me slower but also gave me the need to be faster.
As I run up the hill, I see the car coming fast behind me. There's no way I'm gonna run faster than a car, I know that for sure but.. not if I get in the way.
I move to the front of the car so Asher puts his head out the window. "Get the fuck out of my way",
"If you run me over and I survive, you'll get kicked out of this camp",
"Like hell I don't want that",
Oh yeah, everyone wants to get out of here so that won't work on him.
"Okay well.. if you run me over and I don't survive you'll go to jail", I threaten and he scoffs.
"I'll just pay my way out, like I paid my way out of being in your position ", he smirks and I slowly put two and two together. My eyes widen as I look at him.
"You paid someone else to write your exams for you?", I ask and he rolls his eyes.
"No dumbass, I paid to get a good grade",
"Wait people do that",
"You're poor so you won't know",
I glare at him. His mouth is such a horrid place, "Well you're so dumb you have to know",
He glares at me, "Maybe I will, freaking run you over",
My eyes pop as he pulls his head back inside the car and steps on the gas. I start running again, moving away from the car only to be followed by it.
Is he really gonna run me over?!.
The camp's welcome sign comes in view and I run faster. Due to the hill's rocky nature Asher's car can't really go too fast which makes me lucky.
I get to the camp panting like a cat that almost didn't land on its feet.. terrifying.
I look back to see Asher, driving up into camp grounds. Asshole.
I walk to my cabin. I meet it empty, I guess everyone must have gone to the cafeteria. I should go too but I'm so sweaty right now.
I lift my arm sniffing my armpit then drop it. Let's give it up for the deodorant for blocking a massive stench.
I look around again making sure it's just me in here before I head to the bathroom. I'll be sure to keep my ears open this time.
LOREN
"Asher's back", Priscilla announces so I get off my bed. Well it's about time, wonder where he wondered off to.
As we step out of our cabin, I notice that wretch going into hers. Still wonder why he likes her so much, I wonder too much.. I should start knowing.
Another movement catches my eyes as Noah and Don walk out of their cabin. Don notices us so he points to our direction. Priscilla waves and they wave back.
I watch Noah's expression and I'm not surprised when it changes, he turns to Don and whispers something in his ear. Don nods and Noah walks back to his cabin.
I guess he detests me that much.. I clench my manicured hands into a fist but release it when my nails start to pierce my skin.
"C'mon", Priscy says so we walk towards the parking lot.
Priscilla walks ahead of us, hugging Asher. He's taken aback by it but hugs her either way. He's quick to break away from it and it causes a sigh to leave my lips.
I guess both of us have one thing in common.
We all get into the car with both boys at the front while we sit at the back. Don starts the car and Priscilla asks, "What about Noah?",
"He wanted to stay back to do something", Don says and I scoff. Probably off to meet his stupid pig.
"Hey, who's phone is this?", Asher asks, pulling a phone from the compartment.
Don glances at it, "I don't know",
"Who was here yesterday?", he asks, staring at the phone in his hand.
"Noah and..", he trails as he tries to recall a name which I'm hoping isn't. "Abby.. yeah that's her name",
Asher and I both scoff so he looks behind. "Guess we both have something in common",
Priscy laughs, "What's that?",
"Hate".
