Emmaâs POVI was looking around the room we were preparing for my little girl.My heart couldnât even break anymore. Everything inside me was already broken. The sharp pieces of my heart created a constant ache in my chest. I couldnât believe that we would have to lock her in here. I couldnât believe that I would have to look at my beautiful daughter and lock the door to keep her inside.âHow is Hunter?â Anna asked me quietly.I kept my eyes on the bed I made for my daughter.I put her favorite blanket on the bed. Maybe it would help remind her of who she was before she was forced to let the darkness out.âHe is still in his wolf form,â I mumbled. âHolden is still refusing to give Hunter the control back.âHunter was in his wolf form for two days now. Holden was unhinged. He tried to leave and he tried to go after her. We barely managed to stop him. He didnât even know where she was, and even if he did, there was nothing that he could have done. Alex had to shift into his wolf and subdue Hunter. Axel was the only one big and strong enough to get Holden to back down and stop trying to leave.âI wish there was something we could do to help,â Anna mumbled.I looked at Anna and took a deep breath.âThe only one who could help him is Sophia,â I mumbled. âShe is his mate. He wants her. There is nothing we could say to take away the pain.âAnna stopped sprinkling salt on the floor and looked up at me.âHe will have to snap out of it, Emma,â she said. âYou know it as well as I do. Sophia canât help him, because she isnât Sophia anymore.âThe broken pieces of my heart created a wave of pain in my chest.Anna looked back down and continued to sprinkle the salt around the room.I heard footsteps approaching and I turned around. I knew it was my mate. I was relieved that he came to check on us. I needed him. I needed him to tell me that our child was going to be okay.âHow is it going?â he asked as soon as he opened the door.I didnât respond. I couldnât. I walked into his arms and took a deep breath. He hugged me tightly and kissed the top of my head.âAnna?â he called her.âEverything is ready,â Anna said. âI am just finishing up a few touches and then itâs all up to Emma.âI closed my eyes and took another deep breath.I had to be the one to cast a binding spell on the room. I was the only one who was powerful enough to go against her magic. I was the only elemental with powers opposite hers. It had to be me. No one else could do it.âIt is going to be okay, baby,â Logan mumbled quietly. âWe will figure it out. I promise. She wonât be in here for long.âI nodded and opened my eyes. I looked up at my mate and saw him smiling at me. His smile didnât reach his eyes though. I knew him well enough to see how worried he was.âOur daughter will be okay,â he told me. âWe will take care of her. You will take care of her just like you did for the past 18 years.âAnd just like I would do until I took my last breath.âItâs ready, Emma,â Anna said, making me flinch.Logan kissed my forehead and let me go.I turned around and approached the table with a black candle and an obsidian rock.I lit the candle and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath and released it slowly. The wind created by my magic made a loud noise in the room. I started mumbling the words of the spell. I pictured my daughterâs beautiful face and focused my magic on her.âBy the power of the light and the strength of my will, I bind you and hold you still. With salt and with stone, with candle and flame, your magic is stripped and your power is tamed. Contained within this circle, contained within this room, your magic is powerless, trapped in a magical tomb.âThe room was filled with the sound of strong winds as the ground shook beneath me. The force was so powerful that the windows began to slam open, causing a deafening noise. I felt the wind swirl around me, howling as it got stronger by the second. The temperature in the room increased. The sound of thunder boomed in the air and I could hear the droplets of rain hitting the windowsill. The elements were coming together to bind my daughter and her powers into this room.I took the obsidian into my hand and infused it with the power to absorb and contain Sophiaâs magic once we finally found her. We needed to contain her magic long enough to get her inside this room.I felt the spell infusing itself into the walls of the room. I felt its power buzzing in the air. I felt my own magic giving it strength and pushing it until every part of the room was completely infused with the binding spell. The rain and the thunder stopped. The wind quieted down and the ground stopped shaking. The temperature in the room dropped.I opened my eyes and looked at the candle in front of me. It was still burning. There was still one incantation left.âBy the power of magic and the strength of my will, I declare that only I possess the key to release this creature still. Let it be known that no other mortal hand can break the bond that I have placed, nor loosen this band.âEverything around me quieted down as I spoke the last word.I opened my hand and looked at the obsidian. Its center was glowing red.âIs it done?â I heard my sonâs quiet voice.I didnât even hear him come.âIt is done,â I mumbled quietly as I closed my hand around the rock and pressed it to my chest.I swallowed the lump in my throat and tried to take a deep breath. The room was ready to bind her and her magic until we found another way to set her free.
