Chapter 8: Chapter 8: It's not fair!: Part Two

Two Days before the Council's Court Martial hearing…

{Triple X}

"She did what!" I said. I couldn't believe my ears.

It was early in the morning on my day off and much to my surprise Queen Amore herself decided to pay me a visit at my home. This is a rare thing that happens because Queen Amore hardly ever leaves her castle and when she does she's in disguise for safety measures.

I was sitting in the living room with Queen Amore and George had the day off along with Branden. All three were listening to Queen Amore read Amanda's petition for divorce.

"Yup," Queen Amore said, "The petition for divorce reads as follows:

To the Council,

I, Elder Amanda, my Agent ID is Elder 12075 am filing a petition for divorce based on the grounds of marital strife. Congregation Leader Triple X, Agent ID, Congregation Leader 74742, Instructor Branden, Agent ID, Instructor 34598 and George Harriman-Dawning, Agent ID, Agent 72 have not been loving or accommodating in any way shape or form throughout this marriage.

I understand it is upsetting to be arranged to marry someone you don't know or like but they could at least be civil with me. My husbands have been hostile towards me since the moment I stepped into the house. Just recently I was punished by Congregation Leader Triple X and the punishment was that I wasn't allowed to have sex with anyone for six months and I was told that I wouldn't be allowed to attend my stepson's birthday party coming up soon and I didn't do anything wrong.

My husbands have been so hostile towards me that they made my stepson automatically hate me the moment I met him. They've even resorted to locking me in my room while I'm off work so that they don't have to see me.

I know I've only been married to them for a month but I've realized my mistake in trapping myself in a loveless marriage just because I love someone who clearly doesn't love me.

Therefore, I am requesting a divorce.

Sincerely,

Elder Amanda, Agent ID Elder 12075."

When I heard the petition for divorce that Amanda put in I couldn't help but laugh. George and Branden joined in the laughter. After we stopped laughing I said, "You know it's a good thing I got things in writing."

Queen Amore raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what do you have in writing?"

"Hold on, I'll be right back," I said. I went to my office and grabbed the file that I put everything in regarding Amanda and this forced marriage. I knew she was going to try some bullshit so I'm glad I have evidence to dispute these claims. "I'm glad because I knew she was going to try something like this. She seems to be the type of person that the moment she doesn't get what she wants she'll lie through her teeth just to make someone look like the bad guy."

I shook my head in dismay. "Poor defenseless Amanda! She was thrown into the lion's den with no way out! We've been hostile towards her, she says? We've made Junior hate her, she says? I punished her and she didn't do anything wrong, she says? We've locked her up in her room on her days off so we don't have to see her, she says? That whining entitled brat! Honestly, that last part about locking her up in her room so we don't have to see her does sound kind of appealing. Why didn't I think about that?"

George and Branden laughed at that last remark.

"Because you didn't think of it," Queen Amore said with an amused look on her face.

Then I thought of something. "Queen Amore, you might want to take that file with you because it has some rather interesting things in it that you might want to ask Amanda about yourself. Do you wanna see her bedroom? I let her decorate it anyway she wants to. Because you know, she spends sooo much time there because we keep her locked in there so we don't have to see her."

Queen Amore snorted. "Sure. Lead the way, good sir."

I had her follow me upstairs to Amanda's room and smiled when I tried the doorknob and it was unlocked. I muttered. "We lock her in her room, she says? This room doesn't look locked up to me."

I opened the door and said, "Behold! A room fit for a Queen!"

The room was a huge room big enough to be considered a small apartment. In the middle of the bedroom sat a king-sized bed that had a canopy hanging from the ceiling with beautiful off white curtains. The bottoms of the curtains had gold trimming on them and on the bed were black comforters with gold trimmings on the edges and two huge pillows that had pillowcases that were the color gold on them. In front of the bed was a couch facing a flatscreen TV hanging on the wall in front of it. Off to the left of that couch was a walk-in closet and next to the walk-in closet was a bathroom. Off to the right of the room was a small kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and stove and two small sinks.

I opened the refrigerator to find that it was fully stocked with all sorts of different dishes and they mostly leftovers. Amanda always requested another meal to take to her room after we ate for whatever the reason. She had meals that had steak and lobster, pasta meals that had a lot of sausage in them. At least three or four different containers that had fully scrambled eggs in them, topped with cheese. She also had different sodas and a couple bottles of wine in the fridge.

I looked at Queen Amore. "Hmmm, not accommodating she says? Does that look like neglect to you, Your Highness?"

"Marie! I thought I told you to keep my bedroom door closed when I'm not home!" I heard Amanda call out. "Marie! Marie, where are you? Marie-"

I turned around and smirked when I saw Amanda standing in her room next to her bed with wide eyes. "Triple X, dear what are you doing here and who is she?"

"Oh nothing, I just came to visit you. I missed you!" I lied.

Amanda raised an eyebrow. "Uh-huh sure you did. And who is she?"

Since Queen Amore was in disguise of course Amanda wouldn't recognize her.

"My name is Laurie," Queen Amore said. "I'm Queen Amore's assistant. Queen Amore sent me here because she was rather distressed when she read your petition for divorce. Queen Amore wanted to make sure that your claims were true before granting you a divorce from your 'evil' husbands."

I bite my tongue to keep myself from laughing at her emphasis on the word 'evil.' George and Branden looked like they could start laughing at any moment and I could tell they were doing their best to keep from laughing.

Amanda narrowed her eyes at me. "You knew someone was coming today didn't you? So you made sure to make my room presentable to make me look like a fool!"

"Wow, that's a pretty strong accusation because as a matter of fact I've never been in your room before and hopefully this will be the last time I have to be in your room," I snapped. "By the way, the door to your room only locks from the inside. I have no key to your room because I prefer to give people their privacy."

"And who is Marie?" Queen Amore asked.

"She… She's my…. She's my maid…" Amanda said.

"So if Congregation Leader Triple X gave you a maid and allowed you to fully stock your fridge and gave you a huge room big enough to be considered a small apartment, I'd say he's accommodated you in some way hasn't he?" Queen Amore said.

"But he set this up knowing someone would come today! I swear it's true!" Amanda said.

"Oh really?" Queen Amore said. "Then what about the dates on the food containers in your fridge? And if he set this up, where did you live before he gave you this room and a maid?"

Amanda looked at her and sighed, "I lived here…."

"And as far as Junior automatically hating you, I told him the truth and the truth is that you forced us to marry you for some bullshit reason. Junior decided he didn't like you all on his own," I said.

"Alright I will go back to Queen Amore and report my findings," Queen Amore said. "And don't worry I'm taking that file you gave me Leader Triple X. Have a good day everyone."

Without another word she left.

Present Day, the Council Court Martial hearing 9:30 AM after the arrival of Triple X, Branden and George…

{Elder Lewis}

When Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72 walked in everyone's gaze followed them as they sat down next to the Lawyer who was on the other side of the room.

Queen Amore looked at them. "State your names and Agent ID please."

Congregation Leader Triple X went first. "My name is Congregation Leader Triple X, my Agent ID is Congregation Leader 74742."

Instructor Branden went next. "My name is Instructor Branden, my Agent ID is Instructor 34598."

Agent 72 went last. "My name is George Harriman-Dawning and my Agent ID is Agent 72."

The other Elders in the room started to murmur amongst themselves.

"Silence please!" Queen Amore said and the Elders stopped talking. "Now, as I just said, Elder Amanda has decided to file for divorce. Elder Amanda please approach and take the stand."

There was a chair set up off to the left of Queen Amore's throne and it had a small railing around it for people to step up and testify.

Once Elder Amanda was seated on the witness stand Queen Amore said, "State your name and Agent ID please."

"My name is Elder Amanda and my Agent ID is Elder 12075," Elder Amanda said.

Queen Amore turned to the Lawyer who was sitting next to Congregation Leader Triple X and said, "I'm going to let the Lawyer's take it away and I'll listen to their arguments as well as testimony. The prosecution's Lawyer can go first."

Congregation Leader Triple X's Lawyer stood up and did a short bow. "Yes, thank you, Your Majesty." He turned to Elder Amanda. "Elder Amanda, did you or did you not put in a request for marriage to Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72 on February 9th?"

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Elder Amanda nodded. "Yes."

"And what was the reason for the marriage?" the Lawyer asked.

"I wanted to be able to be the one who would help them give the Organization children because they are a same sex marriage," Elder Amanda answered.

"And did they ask you to marry them?" the Lawyer asked.

Elder Amanda shook her head. "No, they didn't ask me."

"And was Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72 aware of the request for marriage?" the Lawyer asked.

Elder Amanda sighed, "No, they weren't made aware until after the request went through."

"The policy on that is that both parties involved in the marriage are to be made aware of a request for marriage even if they are arranged marriages. Why wasn't the other party involved in this marriage not made aware of the request until after it went through?" the Lawyer asked.

"I…" I could see the wheels in Elder Amanda's head turning as she tried to come up with a reason as to why. I speculated that if she couldn't come up with a reason she'd just play dumb and say she doesn't know anything. But she surprised me and everyone else in the room by saying. "I paid some Elder's on the Council to make sure that my husbands didn't know about the request until the request went through."

While my jaw dropped everyone gasped.

"Objection!" The Lawyer representing the Elder's said. "How can a few Elder's look the other way while the request goes through?"

"That's a good question," Elder Amanda said. "From what I know of, there's a few Elder's that can keep everything under wraps and I had at least two of them in my back pocket. Unfortunately those two Elder's have been fired because of the audit the Council's been having done lately."

Another collective gasp from everyone was heard around the room. Even Queen Amore seemed surprised.

So that's what happened! I didn't even know about the request until it was brought to the Council meeting! I thought.

"No more questions at this moment Your Majesty," Congregation Leader Triple X's Lawyer said and he went back to his seat and sat back down.

The Lawyer representing the Elder's stood up. "Elder Amanda, are you aware that since I am representing every Elder in this room today that means I'm representing you?"

Elder Amanda nodded. "Yes, I am."

"I've represented you before on some cases, have I not?" the Lawyer asked.

Elder Amanda nodded. "Yes, you have."

"Good, now even though I'm kind of surprised that you would be so corrupt as to pay an Elder off I still expect you to be as truthful with me as you possibly can, okay?" the Lawyer said.

Elder Amanda nodded again.

"Now, how long have you been married to Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72?" the Lawyer asked.

"Almost a month," Elder Amanda said.

"And have they been hospitable to you?" the Lawyer asked.

"Well, yes and no," Elder Amanda said.

"And tell me why that is a yes and no answer," the Lawyer said.

"They gave me a room to sleep in but they've resorted to locking me in the room when I'm not at work so they don't have to see me," Elder Amanda said.

I looked over to see what Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72's reactions were and they just sat there with amused looks on their faces. They had that reaction probably because what Elder Amanda was saying is absolutely bullshit.

"Oh? But how big of a room did they give you?" the Lawyer asked.

"It's… Not that big…" Elder Amanda said.

Congregation Leader Triple X scoffed and rolled his eyes at that answer. Once again probably because what Elder Amanda said was complete bullshit.

"How big are we talking? Broom closet big?" the Lawyer asked.

"Yup, it was as big as a broom closet," Elder Amanda answered. But the way she answered the question her eyes shifted and it seemed as though she couldn't look the Lawyer in the eyes.

Anyone with any common sense would know that based on Elder Amanda's body language would be able to tell that that answer was a lie. As a matter of fact any seasoned Agent would be able to see that lie from a mile away. I bet the room Elder Amanda's spouses gave her was bigger than a broom closet. Congregation Leader's houses tend to be as big as a mansion. Even the guest rooms in those mansions tend to be as big as a small apartment. Hell, even the maids' rooms are at least as big as a normal hotel guest room.

Despite knowing that Elder Amanda's answer was a complete lie, her Lawyer smirked (I guess he thought had this in the bag) and said, "No more questions at this moment Your Majesty."

The Lawyer representing Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72 stood up. "Elder Amanda, you say your three husbands gave you a room that was about as big as a broom closet?"

Elder Amanda nodded. "Yes and that's not very hospitable if you ask me. I'm their wife for crying out loud! I deserve to be treated better than that! As a matter of fact they've been hostile towards me since the moment I stepped into the house."

The Lawyer raised an eyebrow and tilted his head. "Oh really? And how have they shown you hostility other than giving you a room the size of a broom closet?"

"Well they went ahead and scheduled what days that I get to spend with what spouse and said that I'm not allowed to spend time with the other spouses if it's not on those days," Elder Amanda said.

That answer was probably one of the hardest lies she ever told because it caused me to roll my eyes.

"That's not being hostile though," the Lawyer said.

"Objection!" Elder Amanda's Lawyer said. "That is being hostile because she's not allowed to choose which spouse she spends time with based on a schedule."

The other Lawyer looked at Elder Amanda and said, "This is a multiple spouse relationship isn't it?"

Elder Amanda nodded. "Yes."

"Think about it this way. Since this is a multiple spouse relationship how would you feel if one spouse was hogging all the attention of the other spouses?" the Lawyer asked.

"I would feel pretty annoyed by it," Elder Amanda said. "But they gave me a bedroom the size of a broom closet! Why aren't you focusing on that? I'm their wife and since I'm the only woman in the relationship I deserve more time and attention."

The Lawyer raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? But what if it were the other way around? What if there were three women who were forced to add in a man for the same reason that you were added into the relationship with your three husband's. Would he need to be the center of attention in that relationship?"

"Yes and I don't think same sex marriages should be allowed in this Organization. And if there are going to be same sex marriages then they should have at least one other spouse who is of the opposite sex be married to them. I-" Elder Amanda paused, probably because she knew that she backed herself into a corner.

"No more questions at this time Your Majesty," the Lawyer said.

After he sat back down Queen Amore stood up from her throne. "I think I've heard enough. Elder Amanda, considering you filed a petition for divorce and made some pretty serious accusations I sent my assistant Laurie to investigate your claims."

I bite my tongue to keep myself from laughing because I know who Queen Amore's "assistant" is. Everyone on the Council knows that Queen Amore's "assistant" is just Queen Amore in disguise when she goes out. Mostly because when she leaves the castle it's rare and when she leaves she has hardly any bodyguards with her and she's in disguise and she's disguised so well that no one's able to recognize her when she goes out.

"It's unfortunate that she can't be here today. But she is pretty thorough with her recordings," Queen Amore said. She grabbed another file that was sitting underneath a file on the table next to her throne.

One of the guards brought over a small computer and projector screen. When she had everything set up she clicked on a file and it showed a picture of the inside of a room. It looked like a typical room that you would find in a mansion. There was a huge bed in the middle of the room with a canopy that had off white curtains hanging from it.

"What does this picture look like?" Queen Amore asked.

"A room," Elder Amanda said.

"But whose room would you say that this belongs to?" Queen Amore asked.

"Um…" Elder Amanda said and judging by the look on her face she didn't want to answer the question because it would catch her lie about how big her room is.

"Oh come on darling, it's a simple question. You filed a petition for a divorce for a reason," Queen Amore said. "You do want the divorce right?"

Elder Amanda nodded. "Yes, I do."

"And you want to be free of your three 'evil' husbands, right?" Queen Amore said.

When Queen Amore empasized the word 'evil' I had to cover my mouth to stifle a laugh and I noticed a couple of other Elder's did the same thing. Not to mention they were the Elders who were against the order for Elder Amanda to marry Congregation Leader Triple X, Instructor Branden and Agent 72.

Elder Amanda sighed, "The room belongs to me…"

"Oh my, so your three husbands weren't very hospitable but they gave you a room the size of a small apartment? Because that's exactly the type of evidence that my assistant gave me. She showed me these very pictures of your room and the room isn't a broom closet. Broom closets are brooms not for people of your status and Congregation Leader Triple X knows this. Which is why he gave you a good room," Queen Amore said. "And as far as locking you up in your room when you're not at work goes, from what my assistant told me, the locks on your door only lock from the inside and Congregation Leader Triple X doesn't have a key to your room. So you're free to come and go as you please."

As Queen Amore talked she clicked on different pictures of Elder Amanda's room and the locks on the door to Elder Amanda's room. It was clear as day with the evidence being shown that Elder Amanda was lying through her teeth and about her three husbands.

Queen Amore took a piece of paper out of the file that she was holding on to earlier and handed it to Elder Amanda. "This is the petition for divorce that you've filed. Please read it out loud for the court to hear."

Elder Amanda took the paper and said started to read with a shaky voice,

"To the Council,

After Elder Amanda read her petition for divorce I looked over to see the Congregation Leader Triple X and Instructor Branden looked like they were trying so hard not to laugh. Agent 72 on the other hand looked pissed. That was when I sensed it. I didn't realize that he was having trouble controlling his Aura Powers just like how Agent 36 still has some trouble controlling her Demon Power. Although she is getting the hang of it a little bit.

I don't know how I missed that fact. I'm usually pretty in tune to the needs of all of the Agents that work for me. I made a note to pay attention to that and suggest a necklace to help him control his powers.

The way Agent 72 was looking at Elder Amanda, he looked like he wanted to march up to her and rip her throat out. Not to mention the room felt really chilly as if someone had set the AC on at the lowest setting possible. It looked like Instructor Branden noticed so he put a hand on Agent 72's shoulder and shook his head as if to say, 'she's not worth it' and seemed to calm him down.

Honestly, at this point, Instructor Branden's not wrong. Ripping out Elder Amanda's throat when she's caused this much chaos for a handful of people now would be too kind.

However, if Agent 72 doesn't get control of his Aura Powers it can be just as disastrous as out of control Demon Power and Stunning Power. He can't start an earthquake but he can freeze his environment and he can cause floods if he's not careful. But when he's calmed down he can reverse the damage at least. I have Aura Powers and I know how hard it is to control them but I was born with mine. Agent 72 wasn't born with his powers. So I imagine that it's going to be twice as hard for him to control them.

I also noticed when I looked around the room that the Elder's who agreed with the order for Elder Amanda's forced marriage looked like they wanted the ground to swallow them whole. Not to mention the fact that Elder Amanda already mentioned that she thinks same sex marriages shouldn't be allowed or if they are allowed then they should have at least one spouse of the opposite gender that sounded pretty foolish. I bet the Elders who agreed with the order are regretting their choice now.

Queen Amore looked over at Agent 72 and said, "Agent 72 please stay calm. I don't want you causing any floods in my courtroom." She turned her attention back to Elder Amanda. "Elder Amanda, since Congregation Leader Triple X is the main spouse in this marriage I think it's only fair that he is made aware that a petition for divorce has been filed. Because let's face it, you married three men for your own selfish reasons and when you saw that you weren't getting what you wanted you filed this petition.

"So since you didn't let your spouses know about the marriage until the order went through and you tried to do the same thing with the divorce, I think it's only fair that Congregation Leader Triple X gets to accept or deny your request for divorce."

Queen Amore looked at Congregation Leader Triple X and asked, "What do you think Congregation Leader Triple X? Is she divorced? Or is she still married and please state your reason as to why."

Everyone turned and looked at Congregation Leader Triple X as he smiled and said, "Her request for divorce is denied."
