I smirked when Queen Amore turned to me and asked my verdict on Amanda's petition for divorce. "Her request for divorce is denied."
Everyone looked surprised, even Amanda and Queen Amore looked surprised.
Queen Amore looked at me. "State your reasons please."
"Okay, the truth is Amanda wants to step out of this marriage because she's not getting what she wants. Amanda's been acting like a spoiled brat because of her position in the Organization. She's even threatened to get an order against George to make him continue to have sex with her when he declared he wasn't going to have sex with her anymore.
"And if I recall correctly, the marriage contract states that a spouse only has to have sex with their partner at least once in order for the marriage to be binding. If a spouse doesn't want to have sex with their partner anymore after that then that's fine. If I hadn't stepped in and talked to you, Queen Amore about it she most certainly would have succeeded in carrying out her plan. The fact that I had to go to Queen Amore in order to protect my spouse says something," I said.
I continued, "I think I've been more accommodating than she says I have. The reason I punished her is because I told her that she needs to learn to grow up and if she did go to Queen Amore to protest the order Queen Amore gave then she would be punished. And I think punishing Amanda by telling her that she couldn't have sex with anyone for six months is a light punishment when I could've done worse.
"The other reason why I denied her petition for divorce is I won't allow her to step out of this marriage on her terms. She's been used to getting her way because of being an Elder that she's been abusing her power over others. She entered this marriage because she wanted to be with George when she knew good and well that he didn't like her. Now that she's not getting what she wants from this marriage she wants to leave it as though nothing happened.
"In my viewpoint she shouldn't get to enter into someone's life and then leave when she doesn't get what she wants. She needs to learn to grow up and I think I'm the best person to teach her how to. She won't be stepping out on her terms even if she commits infidelity in order to convince me to let her go. However, I will grant her a partial petition for divorce. She won't be married to Branden or George but she'll stay married to me. And I know for a fact she doesn't want to be married to me. Because as I said before, she only entered into this marriage in order to be married to George specifically."
"I didn't threaten George! I was only going to go to the Council because he was refusing to do his duty after the honeymoon!" Amanda said.
"And what duty is that?" Queen Amore asked.
"As mentioned earlier we wrote out an agreement that George would spend every Friday with me," Amanda said. "When he found out that you, Queen Amore, tacked on another order blocking me from getting pregnant with his children, George declared he didn't want to spend Fridays with me anymore or have sex with me!"
Queen Amore laughed at Amanda's defense. "But I thought you said that based on that agreement that they were being hostile towards you? Now, you're saying that was Agent 72's duty? Which one is it? Are they being hostile? Or are they fulfilling a duty?"
I smirked when I saw Amanda was at a loss for words. It was clear that her defenses were crumbling down one by one. I also heard the Elder's murmuring amongst themselves.
"Silence please!" Queen Amore said. She looked at me. "So you'll grant Elder Amanda a partial petition for divorce?"
I nodded. "Yes, Your Majesty. And I do have a new file for a new marriage contract and a written notice that the agreement we worked with one who George will be spending time with is now null and void."
"No!" Amanda shrieked.
Queen Amore glared at Amanda. "Silence! I think what Congregation Leader Triple X has proposed is a good idea for part one of your punishment."
Amanda tilted her head. "Part one?"
"Yup that's only part one," Queen Amore said. "Part two is, as of today, you're fired from being an Elder. Your actions have shown that you are clearly not fit for the position. The whole thing about being an Elder is to help the Congregation Leader's lead the Organization. It isn't about using your power to control others. True, Elders have handed out punishments but usually they're for a good reason. You've been using your power as a means to control someone. That's not how things work around here.
"For your new job you will be a Class D Cadet."
Everyone including me gasped at the punishment of being demoted to a Class D Cadet.
Every Agent goes through a process of being what's called a Lab Rat. If an Agent passes being a Lab Rat then the next phase is that they go to Boot Camp and are considered a Cadet. Cadets in Boot Camp train for their jobs and at graduation they're placed in their prospective Congregations. Some Cadets have Congregations that they've been assigned to before they go to Boot Camp and the moment they graduate they go straight to that Congregation.

The Cadets are divided into four classes. Class A Cadets are the Cadets who spend their whole life training for a certain job position and when they graduate that's the job they go to. They're also new Cadets who passed being a Lab Rat and are training for their positions that have been handed out to them.
Class B Cadets are the Cadets who used to have a job within the Organization but got fired for one reason or another. When that happens the Cadet has to go back to Boot Camp to train for their new job.
Class C Cadets are the Cadets who train to be Nannies and Lawyers, maybe even Secretaries. The thing about these Cadets is that they're Agents that only develop 1-5 different abilities mostly because they're not fighter Agents. So they don't count towards the record of how many abilities an Agent develops.
The Agent with the least amount of abilities is Congregation Leader Lieutenant 32 with only six different abilities. The Agent who has the most abilities is the former leader of A-Circle, Leader Dominic. But with the new team of Super Agents that George is on, they keep developing new abilities so the Organization might have another Agent who tops the amount of the most abilities. I bet that Agent in future will either be my sister-in-law Eve or George.
Class D Cadets are the lowest of the low ranking Agents within the Organization. They are the Cadets who have gotten into serious trouble but not to the point where the Organization feels that the Agent is a traitor. They might have abilities that were carried over from their previous job but they usually don't develop anymore abilities because of a tracker that they have to wear underneath the skin. Uncle 42 might be a nutcase but he's a genius in his own right. Mostly those trackers are made so that once the tracker is taken out an Agent can start developing abilities again.
It's always harder on an older Agent to develop new abilities and there's a good chance an Agent can die from developing a new ability but that depends on their age. I'm glad that George or Eve didn't die from all the testing they were put under the tail end of last year.
About the highest job a Class D Cadet could get would be working as an Assistant to a Secretary. Even then that is rare. Most of the Class D Cadets are the permeate Cadets who do things like maintenance work around the different Congregations for the Organization. They're the ones who clean the toilets, and go around cleaning out the cabins when a Cadet graduates and get it ready for the next Cadet to move in.
Basically if you get demoted to a Class D Cadet for committing a serious offense against the Organization any chances of gaining a new career within the Organization are zero. If you're a Class D Cadet you will forever be in Boot Camp never graduating until the day you die.
Amanda should consider herself lucky that she didn't get demoted to being a Breeder Lab Rat. Breeder Lab Rats are Agents who are seen as tools to give the Organization children. This type of Lab Rat is the type of Lab Rat who hasn't passed any type of testing that Uncle 42 does in order to turn them into Agents. But for the Breeder Lab Rats who were once Agents it makes it easier for Uncle 42 to pair them up to give the Organization children.
Most families who have a relative who gets demoted to a Class D Cadet look at that family member with shame and rightfully so. In this situation I don't look at Amanda with shame, I look at her with pride that Queen Amore demoted her to that position because Amanda doesn't deserve to have any type of power over anyone. She'll just wind up abusing it.
"Congregation Leader Triple X, do you have that file for the new marriage contract with you today?" Queen Amore asked.
I nodded. "Yes I do, Your Majesty."
My Lawyer opened his briefcase and handed me the new marriage contract, along with the new notice to render the schedule on who spends time with George null and void and the partial petition for divorce that says that Amanda is now only my spouse and not married to George and Branden. Once I confirmed he gave me the right documents I handed them over to Queen Amore.
Queen Amore took the documents and grabbed a pen from the table that was sitting next to her throne and handed the documents to Amanda. "Sign it."
"But-" Amanda said.
Queen Amore narrowed her eyes. "Are you challenging my orders, Elder Amanda? You know that can be considered treason right?"
Amanda sighed, "No, I'm not challenging your orders, Your Majesty."
Begrudgingly Amanda signed the paperwork.
Queen Amore nodded. "Good now you may step down from the witness stand. Now that that's taken care ofâ¦" She turned her attention to the Elders sitting in the benches area. "Now, I know that the majority vote is what makes an order go through. Who of you were in support of the order for Amanda Dawning to marry Agent 72, Congregation Leader Triple X and Instructor Branden? If you were in support of the order please stand up."
From what I know of the number of Elders that make up the Council are nineteen members and that includes Elder Williams the one who leads the Council. Recently because of the audit the Council's been doing seven Elders on the Council have been fired and one Elder at the start of this trial has been fired and because of what he said I'm going to assume that he was in favor of the order for Amanda to marry us. Add the three Elders who didn't show up for the trial and I'm going to assume that they were in favor of the order.
Elder Williams didn't stand up. That's no surprise considering that he was against the order he stated so earlier in this trial. Two Elders stood up so that made the total of Elders in favor of the order for Amanda to marry George, Branden and I at thirteen. A total of thirteen different Elders supported a forced marriage because it was a same sex marriage. I'm going to assume that they also believe that same sex marriages shouldn't be allowed within the Organization.
Queen Amore whistled, "Wow only six Elders were against the order? Alright to the two of you that up in favor of the order I bet you can guess what's going to happen next right? As of today, you're fired. Guards, take them away."
A couple of guards came and the two newly fired Elders were marched out of the courtroom.
"Well, looks like I'm going to be doing some interviews to fill the empty slots for the Council. Elder Williams, if you have any recommendations that would seem like a good fit send them my way and in the meantime, I'll send out invites to other congregations for their recommendations for the Council. This concludes this trial," Queen Amore said. "Everyone except the guards off course are dismissed."
With that the trial was over.
