Chapter 205 I Thought You Would be Happy How could she leave just like that?
Brendan was so allergic that it had been difficult for him to breathe, a rash had appeared on his face, a nd he was still in excruciating pain. Yet, she hadnât even stayed behind to see him?
âBren⦠are you alright? Just let Miss McKinnon go.â Charlene was excited that the two of them finally had time alone. She sat down beside Brendan. âItâs good that I can stay here with you.â
Before Charlene could sit still, Brendan abruptly rose to his feet and pulled out the blood tube.
âBren! What are you doing?â Charlene panicked, but Brendan ignored her. His eyes were red as he desperately rushed out of the ward.
He hurriedly stopped a taxi, wanting to go back to the mansion. Because he still felt the allergy sympto ms, including an aching arm and breathing difficulty, he was even more furious.
âDeirdre, are you that coldâhearted? I have done so much for you, yet you werenât touched at all?â
On the second floor of the mansion, Deirdre was in a daze while sitting on the chair on the balcony. Her eyes were unfocused, and she had been in the same position si nce she had gotten back a long time ago.
Not only could she not understand, but she was also confused and afraid.
She was afraid of Brendanâs sudden tenderness. Like a different person, he was trying to mend her alr eady broken heart.
In fact, she was satisfied with her current life. Her mother was still alive, and she had grown used to Br endanâs indifference. She knew that Brendan would one day marry Charlene, and she would leave with out hesitation and return to her motherâs side.
While Deirdre was in a trance, her door was suddenly flung open. She abruptly turned in the direction of the door, and before she could react, a strong pair of hands clasped her shoulders tightly. The person who had entered was obviously enraged.
Deirdreâs eyelashes shivered slightly. âIs that you, Brendan?â
Before Brendan could respond, she reacted abruptly. âYour hands. Donât use so much energy. Youâll get injured!â
âSo you still care about me?â Brendan sneered. His red eyes were full of anger and resentment simulta neously. âI thought you wouldnât frown or look at me even if I died.â
Deirdre was rendered speechless by these sarcastic words. Then, she asked, âWhy did you come back so soon? A blood transfusion takes a long time, doesnât it?â
âI pulled the tubes out.â Brendan took a deep breath. He was still furious.
âYou pulled them out?â Deirdre was stunned, and her eyelashes trembled. âWhy? Are you nuts?â
âYes! Iâve gone nuts!â Brendan was having even more difficulty breathing. âAfter my wound was dressed, I went crazy when I heard that you were gone! I donât care even if I am injured. In fact, Iâd
so cruel?!â
Deirdre was in a trance. Was this what Brendan cared about?
She said wryly, âI thought⦠youâd be more excited if Charlene was there to accompany youâ¦â
âThe moment I knew you left, I didnât even manage to tell Charlene anything. I just rushed out of the hospital. Do you think I am happy?â Brendan said, âDeirdre. I. Will. Never.
Be. Happy. About. You. Leaving. Me. I. Only. Want. You!â
âI want you to live, and I want you to only belong to me!â
He didnât say this. However, his words had shocked Deirdre so much that she staggered. She began to Brendan lowered his head, looked for her lips, and kissed them fiercely.
