Johnny saw Ten leaving with the rest of humans, so he tried to follow them. However, the leash prevented him from doing so. No matter how hard he pulled, the leash would tug him back.
'Taeil! Wait for me!' Johnny pleaded through the cloth that was in his mouth, but the Thai didn't even spare him a glance. He fought against the leash, but Taeyong didn't let him go.
Mark didn't take long to show up, jumping off the rooftop and standing in front of Johnny. He took the piece of cloth from Johnny's mouth so that he could talk freely.
'Johnny-'
The taller didn't let him speak. He enragedly jumped on Mark, making him lose his balance, and bit his neck like a dog with rabies. Mark winced in pain as he struggled to get Johnny off him. His neck hurt like hell, the vampire's teeth were no joke. He kicked Johnny several times, but the taller wouldn't let go of his neck.
'What the fuck?!' Taeyong yelled.
The rest of vampires saw what was happening and Taeyong tugged on the leash to see if he could separate them, but as soon as he saw it wasn't working he gave up and stood behind Johnny instead, using all of his strength to separate him from Mark. Doyoung and Jaehyun immediately joined him and restrained Johnny's limbs to prevent him from attacking Mark again.
'You took Taeil away from me!' He yelled at Mark, as he tried to free himself.
Mark was shocked to say the least. He touched his neck with the tips of his fingers and felt the cold blood coming out of the wound.
Someone offered him some help to get up, he took their hand and was pulled to his feet. He looked at the one who'd helped him, but before he could speak he received a hard slap against his cheek.
'Why did you lie to me?!' Donghyuck yelled at him. Mark looked down, he knew Donghyuck had the right to be mad at him.
'I-I'm sorry baby... I didn't want you to worry-'
'You didn't want me to worry?! You almost got killed!'
'It's not like that-'
'Shut up!' Donghyuck pulled Mark into a tight hug and didn't let him speak. 'I don't want to fucking lose you, do you understand?'
Mark discretely pulled Donghyuck with him and they went to a nearby alley so that the others wouldn't interrupt their talk.
Taeyong pulled Johnny by the collar, forcing him to lower his head until they were in the same level.
'Stop blaming Mark, he did absolutely nothing wrong.' Johnny didn't respond and looked away instead. 'Why are you so attached to that human? What did he do to you?'
'Because Taeil-'
'Ten is not Taeil.'
'But-'
'Ten. And. Taeil. Are. NOT. The same person.'
'But they-'
'Stop treating Ten like how you'd treat Taeil, for fuck's sake!' Taeyong was losing it. 'They're nothing alike, they don't look alike, they don't sound alike, goddammit Johnny, they don't even behave alike! Ten is manipulating you, can't you fucking see it?! He treats you like a pet-'
'Just like how you vampires treated Taeil!' Johnny received a first against his jaw after saying those words.
'You're mixing things up, Johnny. We didn't kill your exboyfriend.'
'No, but you kill humans too. All of you are the same. I'm so done with vampires, I hate being a vampire! I would rather die than side with the ones who murdered Taeil.' Johnny spat on Taeyong as soon as he finished.
Taeyong wiped it off his face as he let go of Johnny's collar.
'You-' Jaehyun was about to get aggressive, but Doyoung interfered and stopped him from starting a fight.
'Let's calm down, guys. Johnny, we know why you got so attached to that human, but you have to understand that following Ten like a lost puppy won't bring Taeil back. As hard as it might be you need to accept Taeil is dead and won't magically appear no matter how much you torture yourself.'
'I... I know...' Johnny said as he looked down. 'But... I've been seeing Taeil lately. He's been visiting me in my dreams eversince the humans kidnapped me, and I... I just thought if I stayed there he would keep appearing in my dreams...'
'Taeil?'
His eyes lit up as he saw the shorter in the distance. He didn't hesitate to run in his direction to see if he was real.
'Johnny!'
Taeil waved at him, smiling brightly. Johnny's heart melted at the sight.
'It's been a long time.'
'I missed you so much...'
'I missed you too, Johnny.'
'You... You're still mad?'
'How have you been?'
Taeil completely ignored Johnny's question, which made the vampire's heart hurt.
'Fine I guess... What about you?'
'I'm good, but it's boring being here all alone. Why don't you come visit me more often?'
'I will!'
Johnny answered before Taeil could finish his sentence. He was so happy to talk to Taeil again. He knew it was a dream. Their surroundings were completely blank, and Taeil sounded like a distant voice. However, that image at least comforted his heart a bit.
'Taeil... I'm sorry...'
'It's fine, Johnny, don't worry about it!'
'You're not mad at me for having sex with another human?'
'I don't mind you having sex with Ten, as long as you don't forget about me, of course!'
Johnny motioned to caress Taeil's hand, but as soon as he touched the human's skin he disappeared like fog. He was totally unable to touch Taeil.
'Johnny... Promise me you'll visit me every day, forever!'
'I promise, Taeil.'
Taeil moved on his lap as they made out, Johnny could finally touch him. He kissed him hungrily, making the human moan against his lips. Taeil pulled away to catch his breath, but as soon as he did, his face changed. His features slowly transformed, until he became... Ten. Johnny blinked a couple of times, to see if his eye was deceiving him, only to be disappointed as soon as he found out it wasn't Taeil the one he was kissing.
Johnny didn't realise he was crying until a hand was placed on his shoulder. He turned around and met eyes with his best friend.
'Mark? I... I'm sorry for hurting you earlier...'
'Dude, it's fine. I understand that you're not thinking straight.'
'I- That was the worst pun you've ever made.' He slapped the shorter's shoulder playfully as he laughed quietly, wiping his tears.
'But it made you laugh didn't it?' Mark said as he smacked Johnny back.
'By the way, where's Donghyuck?'
'He... He went to his house. He's fine though. We should go home too.'
Johnny then looked at the four other vampires that were there. Taeyong's face wasn't very friendly, but at least he didn't look as threatening as Jaehyun did.
Taeyong and Johnny glared at each other in a staring contest for a few seconds, until Mark cleared his throat.
'So... When are you gonna apologize to each other?'
'Why should I?' Said Johnny, making Taeyong scoff.
'You spat on my face and accused us of killing your ex.'
'I didn't say that. I said you kill humans, which you do. Or am I wrong, TY?' He looked at the shorter challengingly.
'Oh... Why would you say that?'
'You know perfectly well why. You had fun slaughtering humans like they're insects, didn't you? Tell me, who helped you? Jaehyun? Or was it Doyoung?'
'Don't get them involved in this. Why do you care anyways? They were just humans. And some of them even got Mark in trouble. Or you forgot about that?'
'Mark got in trouble because of your little 'help', Taeyong. And Ten wouldn't shut up about you. How many humans did you kill?'
'Hmm... I forgot. But Donghyuck probably remembers.'
'Donghyuck?' Mark intervened.
'Your boyfriend helped me throughout the whole process. He's really smart when he wants, you know?'
Mark stayed silent. So that's where he went every time he went out without giving him any explanations...
Jaehyun and Doyoung were also aware that Taeyong sometimes disappeared for some hours and came back smelling like human blood, but none of them dared to ask. They didn't imagine he'd spend his time killing humans like that.
