Renjun was in Kunhang's lab, helping him. Before joining Kunhang in his job the other investigators explained him a bit of their jobs. The first one was Dejun.
'I know you probably know a lot of this stuff, but I'll explain again just in case. Vampires are creatures that feed by drinking human blood.
"Jisung, you smell like blood again. You should at least try to maintain basic hygiene."
"Ugh... Fine, father. I'll go brush my teeth. Geez."
We separate them into two different groups: pure blooded vampires and regular vampires. Though pure blooded ones are stronger, their weaknesses also affect them more.
"Jaehyun, babe. You're too weak for me."
"Well shit, Taeyong. You're a pure blooded and he's not."
"Shut up, Doyoung no one a- dOYOUNG TURN OFF THE FUCKING FLASHLIGHT YOU BITCH"
They physically look like humans, with the only difference that they don't grow physically old from a certain age.
"No no no, last time I went to that videogame shop the guy who was attending me almost had a heart attack when I told him it was for my SON."

Although historically humans have believed all vampires are pale it's been demonstrated that it's not true.

They're physically stronger than humans, their sense of hearing, smelling and touching are sharper than humans'.
"Jeno! The neighbor's cat is crying again!"

However, their sight isn't that good, their eyes are very sensitive to daylight, therefore they might have a hard time seeing during the day. When it's dark things change.
"Channie! Should I wear this shirt or that one?"

Their tongues work differently than humans', pure blooded vampires find human food disgusting and they can determine someone's blood type by its taste.
"Did you two break up?"
"Yeah..."

"Man, you gotta stop choosing girls by their blood type..."
"Shut up, Johnny. You choose them by their phone wallpaper aesthetic."

Regular vampires can't, but they can tolerate human food because it's tasteless to them. Human food does not harm vampires, however it doesn't provide them with energy either so it's basically useless for them.
"Ew, nasty. How can humans eat that?"
"Tae, I used to eat those before. Now they're just tasteless, though."
"Then why are you eating this shit, Doyoung?"
"Don't know. I just felt nostalgic."
Their skin is sensitive to daylight because their cells have a substance in them that reacts to daylight and turns into a toxic acid that harms them.
"I envy you, Hyuck. My skin is so pale I could probably blend with the wall..."
"Why don't you go sunbathe on the beach?"
"You motherf-"
"Just kidding, just kidding! Hey, don't hit me!"
Their cells have it because when it's not altered it makes their organic tissues stronger, meaning a regular knife, for example, will probably break if used to stab a vampire.
"Channie, mind to explain why is mY FAVOURITE KNIFE SHATTERED?"
"I'm so sorry babyy~ I was trying to make you some pancakes and I took the knife to open the mayonnaise jar but it accidentally slipped and broke when I pressed it against my finger..."

In case you successfully stab a vampire their immune system will automatically cool down drastically in that area, freezing and breaking whatever material penetrated into their skin.

Pure blooded vampires can turn humans into regular vampires if their blood gets into a human's circulatory system, so here we train a lot to make sure we don't accidentally become vampires in a fight. Being bitten by a vampire or even having sex with them won't turn you into one if there's no blood exchange, unlike most people think.'

The second one to talk about his work was Sicheng. He showed him different chemical products and what they were for.
'This one liquid is transparent and doesn't have any effect on humans. It smells like apples when it's liquid, but once it's dried it's completely undetectable. You can touch it safely, nothing will happen to you. However, when it makes contact with a vampire's skin...'
Sicheng dropped a bit of liquid on a slim membrane that Renjun assumed was a vampire's skin and the liquid made the membrane melt.
'We use a diluted version of this liquid to spray it and it helps detect vampires or distract them. When diluted with a 95% of water it makes their eyes, nostrils and mouth itch, when it's with only a 50% of water it makes their eyes cry and when diluted with a 25% of water it makes their eyes, nostrils and mouth bleed. Kunhang soaks his weapons with this liquid without diluting so that they can penetrate a vampire's skin.'
The next product was a cream-like substance. It was blue and didn't smell at all.
'This substance heats the body once it touches it. It works with humans too, if you spread it on your skin you'll soon feel it slowly warming. A vampire's body temperature is way lower than a human's, meaning they're sensitive to high temperatures. Kunhang uses this to introduce it in his weapons. When that weapon is used to stab a vampire, the vampire's body lowers it's temperature. That makes the weapon break, and the substance that is inside is released and enters the vampire's circulatory system. It's spreads rapidly and heats up the whole body killing them.'
Renjun took a bit of that creamy blue substance and felt how his fingers heated up. Sicheng continued explaining and showed him other products he was still developing.
'Kunhang, Sicheng told me about the creamy substance you put into the weapons so that when the vampire breaks them they die, but doesn't that only work with bullets?'
'Well, I use it it in both knives and bullets, the problem is that they can only be used once. My work is mainly to create two kinds of weapons: bullets and knives. Some knives, though, can be disposable or reusable. To make knives that last I have to use a material that's resistent to drastic temperature changes. It's made of... Ehh... Hold on, I have it written somewhere.... Uhm... I think it was here? Oh, no, that's another thing. Maybe in the other folder?'
"Jae, did you see my- oH MY GOD WHY ARE YOU TWO ALWAYS DOING UNHOLY THINGS."

Doyoung blushed furiously at Taeyong's words, he turned around to leave but the pure blooded was faster and shut the door closed before he could escape.
