"You'll never take me alive!"
The overdramatic battle cry that fell from Tyler's mouth made Olivia roll her eyes.
From her hiding spot behind Crystal's trailer, she tuned in her ears and listened.
She was on set with everyone, but only filmed two scenes so far. That afternoon, she couldn't take Dylan and Tyler's complaining about the heat. So, Holland, Arden, Crystal and herself devised a plan to attack the boys (which also included Daniel and the Carver twins) while Hoechlin filmed a few scenes with Keira and Ian Bohen.
Unfortunately for the girls, the boys didn't take being sprayed with water guns lightly. Max had taken over Holland's and ambushed the redhead, while Tyler somehow had water guns in his trailer to supply himself, Dylan and Daniel.
Charlie on the other hand just accepted his fate, getting completely soaked within seconds. Now he was relaxing in a kiddie pool with an iced lemonade. The whole lot after that became a war zone.
No one could go inside trailers or bother the crew and others working. Headshots were not allowed. You were only allowed to refill your gun twice after its first use, and Olivia was on her last trip.
But she knew Dylan was in the same boat.
The two had targeted each other, since Arden attacked Tyler and Crystal enjoyed soaking Daniel. Olivia had managed to sneak away after surprising Dylan from behind, so she knew he was trying to find her.
She could hear Arden's squeals and Daniel's protests, letting her know everyone else was still fighting. And then she heard his voice.
"Awe, why are you hiding from me?" Dylan teased, making her movements freeze. "That's not very nice, Livie."
Slowly, she turned around to meet his smirk, his water gun pointed towards her. "Who ever said I play nice? You read the script; Sierra doesn't follow the rules anymore."
"I think you're forgetting that Stiles turns evil too," was his reply, tightening his grip on the water gun.
He was only a few feet in front of her and held the upper hand. After all, he was actually aiming towards her. Olivia's weapon was held limply at her side. But Dylan knew better; Olivia could easily take him out if she wanted to.
Yet neither of them wanted to make the first move.
"If you're gonna shoot me, shoot me," Olivia shrugged and then raised her arms, spreading them wide. For a moment, she closed her eyes and raised her chin. "Come on, O'Brien, I can take it."
Dylan furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What's your angle, Mason?"
Olivia looked at him innocently, taking a step forward. The way she bit down on her lip made Dylan gulp and it took everything in him to keep himself from just stepping forward and kissing her senseless. "No angle, just acceptance."
The past few weeks of filming had granted many opportunities for Dylan to tell Olivia how he developed feelings for her. Like, when they were hanging out in his trailer or when they revisited the park where they first truly got along. But every time he chickened out.
"You don't usually give up," he smirked, pushing his thoughts away.
By now she stood right in front of him, the front of the water gun at her belly button. "Things change," her voice lowered, her arm reaching up and pushing the weapon away from her slowly.
To be truthful, she didn't know what she was doing. The last weeks had stirred something in Olivia, only occurring when she was around the sarcastic boy. Being off social media really helped clear her head and let her move on from the rumors and lies from Chris. And since Dylan had taken a break as well, the two of them became closer.
Their characters were going through a battle mentally this second half, and Olivia wanted to make sure she understood what Sierra was going through. Dylan agreed, and so the two of them began reading lines together. It would spark conversations about the motives and emotions going into the story, their bond growing.
Olivia recognized the feeling in her heart when she looked at Dylan, and wanted to test the waters. Teasing him right now allowed her to see if there were any signs he felt the same. But the pair acted for a reason.
Dylan froze as Olivia's fingers brushed a water droplet near the corner of his mouth, her enticing eyes staring up at him. Her blue shirt only brightened her ocean irises and Dylan felt like his heart stopped from the way they sparkled.
His own eyes flickered down past her freckled nose to her lips, realizing all he had to do was lean down a little further and then he'd be kissing her.
"What're- What're you doing, Livie?" He managed to ask, his voice sounding breathless as she traced his skin.
"Nothing strange I hope," she replied quietly and then raised to her tiptoes. Dylan thought he was going to pass out from how her pink lips neared his, forgetting about the water gun in his hand so he could focus on her.
And all she did was kiss his cheek.
"Gotcha," she whispered, confusing him.
"Wait what-"
Olivia didn't hesitate to raise her water gun, starting to spray Dylan instantly.
At first he shouted in protest from the cold water, but at the way Olivia laughed in amusement caused him to just stand there and accept his defeat.
Even after she ran out of water, she couldn't stop herself. "You- you look a- a little wet, Dyl-Dylan," she spatted through her giggles, dropping her gun to the floor to hold her stomach.
Dylan bit down on his lip, his jaw clenched. But not in anger. He was upset that she had teased him, but it only told Dylan their relationship was progressing. So, he stood there with a smirk as she chuckled, a plan sparking in his brain.
"Okay, I'll admit that you got me," he finally spoke up, raising his hands in surrender. "I'm completely soaked thanks to you."
Olivia smiled proudly at him, her blue eyes scanning his drenched figure. His brown hair stuck to his forehead and his white T-shirt clung to his skin, only making Olivia realize how good of a plan she had acted out. She definitely was enjoying the result.
"What can I say?" Olivia sighed, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I'm a genius."
"Does that genius perhaps want a hug?"
Knowing what he wanted, Olivia snorted. "Yeah, nice try, Dylan. Once you change then I'll hug you."
"Awe, but I wanna hug you now," he pouted, opening his arms and moving towards her.
Olivia immediately began backing away, shaking her head and keeping on hand in front of her. "Dylan, don't even think about it."
"Too late."
She only saw his devilish grin for a split second before he started to run towards her. A squeal escaped her and Olivia turned around sharply, sprinting away from him.
Dylan chased after her, weaving through the trailers she darted through to lose him.
Tyler and Arden watched Olivia run away laughing, Dylan catching up to her while they dried themselves off. "Awe, they are so cute," Arden gushed. "I can see why they're so good onscreen together."
"They didn't always used to be like that," Tyler replied with the truth. "You don't even know how happy I am that they get along so well now."
"Was it bad before?"
"Not entirely," Tyler shrugged. "They just liked to annoy one another, you know bicker and that kind of thing."
Both of them kept their eyes trained on the pair, Dylan running up behind Olivia and scooping her into his arms. He spun her around with a large grin on his lips, Olivia's laughter filling the air in glee.
"You think they like each other?"
Tyler nodded, smiling, "I do. The only problem is getting them to admit it to one another."
"Well, I don't think that'll take much longer." Arden gestured to Olivia and Dylan.
He hugged the life out of her, Olivia's hands resting on top of his which were above her hips. "Gotcha," he whispered in her ear and Olivia would be lying if she said she didn't have chills run down her spine.
Her brain was too frazzled to say anything clever so instead she blurted out, "You're cold."
"Which is why I'm hugging you," he replied. "You're hot."
Even though her cheeks flushed, she chuckled. "I think there's a better way to phrase that, Dylan."
"Maybe," he shrugged, "but it's still true."
"Oi, lovebirds!"
The two turned their heads towards the voice, spotting Crystal and Daniel walking towards them with towels. Realizing they were still very close, Olivia took a step back from Dylan and allowed herself to start breathing again.
As Crystal explained that Jeff needed them in wardrobe, Dylan kept his eyes trained on the girl beside him. She avoided his gaze, gulping before she replied for both of them that they'd make their way there now.
"Dylan?"
He blinked, snapping out of his trance. "Hmm?"
Crystal knowingly smirked at him and then repeated herself. "Jeff needs you and Liv to get dressed for the next scene. Remember? The one about the keys? Tyler is already headed that way."
"Right, right," Dylan nodded in understanding. "Keys, scene with Livie and T-Pose."
Olivia didn't know what was running through his head, but had to push her own thoughts to the back of her mind. Forcing herself to roll her eyes, she stepped forward and grabbed his hand.
"Thanks, Crystal," she called over her shoulder, dragging Dylan behind her.
"You're welcome!"
Daniel glanced at his girlfriend, noticing the way she smiled excitedly as she watched Olivia and Dylan leave. "And what're you thinking about, darling?"
"Just how cute they are going to be when they start dating, no biggie."
