Laxmi continued her narration,"Suddenly Ajamila observed a prostitute engaged in an intense romance with a lusty youth behind the bushes. Her dress was little bit removed and both were enjoying deeply in the romance. Immediately, Ajamila's mind got distracted and right the moment, he thrown all the puja items down. He fell totally in lust and started craving for such desires. He completely forgot his honour, dignity, education, wisdom and fear of sin. He fell behind that prostitute to satisfy his lustic desires. He spent most of his time in her company. As he started maintaining relationship with a prostitute, he and his family lost respect in the society. His father died unable to see his son being totally spoiled in the attraction of a prostitute. He married the prostitute and brought her home. He gave birth to ten sons with her. Ajamila had neither assets nor lands. As he married a prostitute, villagers started detesting him. None gave him a job. People considered him as a sinner because he devastated his dignity by marrying a low class prostitute. Even though he had infinite knowledge in vedas, it became useless because none came to learn anything from a sinner. He hadn't any option rather than becoming a thief to feed his big family. A great pandit started behaving as a big burglar and robbed the houses. He even murdered people for money. He acquired so much sin by stealing, robbery and killing innocent people. It was his last days. He used to love his tenth son, named "Narayana" among all sons. He always thought about his bright future. Even though he became a bandit, he sent his son for studies so that he lead a happy family. He forgot the entire world in his love. His wife too died and he fell on bed due to old age.Finally time for his death came and two yamdoot (servants of yamaraj) stood before to take him to hell because of his severe sins. Their gruesome appearance filled his mind with terror. Their visages were fierce and body was brawny.Ajamila understood that his death arrived but he couldn't leave his son. He grieved and felt to see him for the last time before leaving his life. He started recollecting all the transgressions and sins he made in his life in lust. He regretted for those and perceived the truth then. He realized all his mistakes and rued greatly. His eyes became moist with tears coming from repentance. He felt shame for being the reason for death of his father. He totally devastated fame of his family in society. Moreover, he did a grave sin by maintaining relation with a cheap prostitute to satisfy his desire. But everything was over then!!! He trembled to go far away from his most adorable son."Narayana Narayana", he affectionately called his son dying. Yamdoot clasped his soul and we're going towards hell. At the same time, vishnudoot (servants of yamraj) entered and stopped them. Vishnudoot appeared serene and asked the yamadoot to leave him."Vishnudoot! He had done countless sins in his whole life. He's a big thief and a murderer. Yamaraj ordered us to bring him to yamalok. We both are following the same", told one. Vishnudoot grinned and explained,"Ha! Yamdoot! He did innumerable grave sins which we too agree! But at the time of his death, he realized and repented for all his sins. Moreover he chanted "Narayana" by calling his son "Narayan". Chanting the Chakradhari's paavan(sacred) name, he got freed from all sins. "Yamdoot couldn't accept this and didn't allow Vishnudoot to take him with them. Ajamila was very much tensed about his destiny- yamalok/ vaikunth and anxiously observing the argument between both.Finally Lord Vishnu appeared before them in his ananth chaturbhuj form."Yamadoot! Leave him! His sins are totally removed by chanting my name. Whoever chants my name in any sorrow or in any misery, they'll all be free from Naraklok punishments. Chanting even listening "Narayan" name frees humans from their paapakarm (impious activity) ."TO BE CONTINUED...
