"Don't forget to turn in your essays" the teacher yelled out.
I walked out the class and headed to the cafeteria. As I was walking I felt somebody bump into me.
"I'm so sorry" I heard.
I turned around and seen the new girl I heard people talking about.
"It's okay" I said and smiled.
"Do you mind helping me, I'm new but not new" she said laughing.
"First time at this school" I asked her.
She shook her head yes. She handed me her schedule so I could look at it.
"You have lunch this period , you can come with me if you want" I said.
"Thanks" she said smiling.
We walked to the cafeteria and sat down at a table.
"So what's your name" she asked me.
"Nova"
"That's pretty my name's lyric" she said.
"Cool"
I seen Milani and waved my hand so she can come over here.
"Wassup bestie" she said sitting next to me.
"Hey , this lyric" I said.
"Oh so you the new girl everybody talking bout" Milani said.
"Wait everybody talking bout me what they saying" she said.
"That you the new girl what else" Milani said laughing.
Lyric laughed too but you could tell she was uncomfortable. We talked for a lil bit and I learned that lyric was from my side of town. I got a text message and looked to see who it was.

I closed my phone and looked up to see lyric gone.
"Where she went" I asked Milani.
"Front office , ion like her vibe though" Milani said.
"How you don't like her and y'all ain't even have a real conversation"
"Ion know she just give me off vibes maybe it's just me" she said shrugging.
"Yeah but i gotta go to class I'll see you last period" I told her.
I got up and went to my next class. I walked in and seen street. He was the only one who ain't drop out. I went over and sat next to him.
"Ugh the rat is sitting next to me" he said.
I rolled my eyes. "Boy fuck you"
"Ms.Mashes language " the teacher said.
"Sorry"
I looked back at street and he was over here laughing.
"I really don't like you" I said mugging him.
"Yeah whatever you riding with me and Lani today" he asked.
"Yeah I just need you to drop me off at work" I told him.
He shook his head and we started listening to the teacher.
At the shop
I sat in my chair and waited for Mario to come he was running late. I decided to take somebody else cause now he was playing with time and my money.
"Aye nova where trey at" Duke asked me.
"Ion know ian talk to him all day" I said.
"Oh Ight"
I heard the door open and I seen Mario come in. I rolled my eyes and continued focusing on the person I was cutting.
"Damn you just gon take somebody else" he said.
"Yup" I responded popping the p.
"Ight imma respect that I'll just wait"
He walked over to the chairs and sat down. I was bout done cutting my client up anyway so it took no time for him to get out my chair and Mario to sit down.
"Ight what you want" I asked him.
"You" he said smirking.
I laughed. I would be lying if I said he not fine but he is. Tyshear still in my eyes though so, I didn't see myself with Mario.
"Um what you want for real" I said.
"Just give me a shape up" he said.
I nodded my head and began edging him up. I could feel him staring at me so I made sure to hurry up. 30 minutes passed by and I was finally finished.
"How much" he asked.
"25"
He gave me crisp $50 and I just accepted it. At this point I was use to getting more than the original amount.
I started cleaning off my station until I felt somebody tap my shoulder. I turned around and seen lyric.
"Hey what you doing here" I asked her.
"Oh pop is my dad" she said.
"Oh , I ain't know pop had a daughter" I said.
"Damn hey" duke said walking up to us.
I rolled my eyes and continued cleaning off my station while they talked. It was close to me getting off so I just left early . Today wasn't really a good day anyways I was tired as hell.
I left the shop and seen somebody staring at me in a black hoodie and mask. I started walking the other direction but I could hear footsteps behind me.
When I went to turn around I felt something hit me across my head. All I seen was black.
